Compact Maximal Space-like Submanifolds in a Pseudo-Riemannian Spacetime Sp^m＋p

This paper concerns space-like submanifolds in a pseudo-Riemannian space-time Spm p(?)Epm p 1(p≥1), and proves that connected compact maximal space-like submanifolds in a pseudo-Riemannian spacetime Spm p(?)Epm p 1(p≥1) must be totally umbilical, and also totally geodesic. Particularly, when p = 1, our result is just Montiel's in case of H = 0.     

Complete Open Manifolds with Nonnegative Ricci Curvature

In this paper, we study complete open manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature and injectivity radius bounded from below. We find that this kind of manifolds are diffeomorphic to a Euclidean space when certain distance functions satisfy a reasonable condition.     

单位球面中极小子流形的C∞紧性

本文研究了单位球面中极小子流形的C∞紧性,并得到两个紧性定理.作为应用,我们证明了存在正数δ(n),如果单位球面中极小子流形的第2基本形式的长度平方小于;2/3+δ(n),则它必须是全测地的或微分同胚于Veronese曲面.

In this paper, we prove that if M is an open manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature and large volume growth, positive critical radius, then sup Cp=∞.p∈M As an application, we give a theorem which supports strongly Petersen‘s conjecture.
