Quarks are proposed to be grouped together to make quark-clusters due to the strong interaction in cold quark matter at a few nuclear densities,because a weakly coupling treatment of the interaction between quarks there would be inadequate.Cold quark matter is then conjectured to be in solid state (i.e.,forming a crystal structure) if the inter-cluster potential is deep enough to localize clusters in lattice.Such a solid state of cold quark matter would be very necessary for us to understand different manifestations of pulsar-like compact stars,and could not be ruled by first principles. 相似文献

IHEP, China is constructing a 100 MeV/100 kW electron Linac for NSC KIPT, Ukraine. This linac will be used as the driver of a neutron source based on a subcritical assembly. In 2012, the injector part of the accelerator was pre-installed as a testing facility in the experimental hall #2 of IHEP. The injector beam and key hardware testing results met the design goal. Recently, the injector testing facility was disassembled and all of the components for the whole accelerator have been shipped to Ukraine from China by the ocean shipping. The installation of the whole machine in KIPT will be started in June, 2013. The construction progress, the design and testing results of the injector beam and key hardware are presented. 相似文献

The New Muon (g-2) Collaboration at Fermilab has proposed to measure the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, αμ, a factor of four better than was done in E821 at the Brookhaven AGS, which obtained αμ = [116592089(63)] × 10^-11 ±0.54 ppm. The last digit of a, is changed from the published value owing to a new value of the ratio of the muon-to-proton magnetic moment that has become available. At present there appears to be a difference between the Standard-Model value and the measured value, at the ≌ 3 standard deviation level when electron-positron annihilation data are used to determine the lowest-order hadronic piece of the Standard Model contribution. The improved experiment, along with further advances in the determination of the hadronic contribution, should clarify this difference. Because of its ability to constrain the interpretation of discoveries made at the LHC, the improved measurement will be of significant value, whatever discoveries may come from the LHC. 相似文献

The cross sections of the fragments produced in the projectile fragmentation reactions of the even calcium isotopes from A=36 to A=52 are calculated using the statistical abrasion ablation model.The neutron skin thickness are studied by investigating the fragments isotopic cross section distributions.The neutron-skin thicknesses of the calcium isotopes have a good linear correlation to the peak positions of their fragment isotopic cross section distributions.The correlation between the neutron skin thickness and the neutron density distributions of 48 Ca is investigated by introducing a parameter to adjust the diffuseness parameter in the fermi-type density distribution. 相似文献

Effect of the mesons σ~* and Φ and the variety of U_Σ~(N) on the transition density of hyperon stars
The effect of the mesons σ* and Φ and the variety of UΣ(N )on the transition density of hyperon stars is examined within the framework of relativistic mean field theory for the baryon octet {n,p,Λ,Σ-,Σ0,Σ+,Ξand Ξ0} system.It is found that,compared with that without considering the mesons σ* and Φ,the transition density of hyperon stars decreases,the critical baryon density that hyperons Σ-,Σ0,Σ+,Ξand Ξ0 appears to decrease too,but for Λ the effect is not obvious.As U Σ(N )goes up,the critical baryon density of Σ+,Σ0 and Σincreases,that of Ξ0 decreases and that of Λ and Ξis fixed.In addition,it is found that the variety of UΣ(N )almost does not influence the transition density. 相似文献

Ground state entanglement and thermal entanglement of a two-qubit Heisenberg XXZ chain in the presence of the different Dzyaloshinski-Moriya interaction and inhomogeneous magnetic field are investigated.By the concept of concurrence,we find that the inhomogeneity of the magnetic field may make entanglement last for a long time and the critical temperature is dependent on Jz and b.The entanglement can be increased by increasing the temperature in some cases.We also find that the x-component parameter Dx has a higher critical temperature and more entanglement for a certain condition than the z-component parameter Dz. 相似文献

There are two cooling systems to maintain the thermal stability of the CSNS H^- ion source during its operation: Air-cooling in the source body of the discharging chamber and water-cooling in the flange on which the discharging chamber is installed. The optimal cooling parameters to ensure the operation of the H^- ion source are determined through a thermal analysis. In addition, a transient analysis is also performed to know exactly the transient temperature variation during the whole 40 ms period of the pulsed mode operation of the ion source. 相似文献

The measurement of parity-violating (PV) observables in few-nucleon system can shed light on our current understanding of the weak interaction between nucleons.Theoretical models describe the nucleonnucleon weak interaction at low energies use a series of undetermined parameters.Two parity violating measurements have been considered: the capture of polarized slow neutrons on hydrogen (n + p → d + γ) at Los Alamos National Laboratory for first phase and Oka Ridge National Laboratory for second phase and the helicity dependence of the deuteron photodisintegration cross section using circularly polarized photons (γ + d → n + p) at Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics.The goal of both experiments is to constraint the weak meson-nucleon couplings to a precision of 1 ×10^-8 .The introduction of both experiments is presented. 相似文献

One of the first measurements that will be made at the LHC by ATLAS deals with the properties of inelastic collisions,namely the central charged particle density and transverse momentum distributions.Current predictions of these distributions have large uncertainties in the LHC energy range.We describe the ATLAS minimum bias triggers,designed to select all kind of inelastic interactions,and the performance of the track reconstruction software which was adapted to soft particle track reconstruction.The precision with which the minimum bias distributions can be measured with early data is presented and the uncertainties on the inelastic distributions due to trigger bias is discussed. 相似文献

After a brief review of the muon g-2 status, we discuss hypothetical errors in the Standard Model prediction that might explain the present discrepancy with the experimental value. None of them seems likely. In particular, a hypothetical increase of the hadroproduction cross section in low-energy e^+e^- collisions could bridge the muon g-2 discrepancy, but it is shown to be unlikely in view of current experimental error estimates. If, nonetheless, this turns out to be the explanation of the discrepancy, then the 95% CL upper bound on the Higgs boson mass is reduced to about 135 GeV which, in conjunction with the experimental 114.4 GeV 95% CL lower bound, leaves a narrow window for the mass of this fundamental particle. 相似文献

Superconducting quarter-wave resonators,due to their compactness and their convenient shape for tuning and coupling,are very attractive for low-β beam acceleration.In this paper,two types of cavities with different geometry have been numerically simulated the first type with larger capacitive load in the beam line and the second type of lollipop-shape for 100 MHz,β=0.06 beams then the relative electromagnetic parameters and geometric sizes have been compared.It is found that the second type,whose structural design is optimized with the conical stem and shaping drift-tube,can support the better accelerating performance.At the end of the paper,some structural deformation effects on frequency shifts and appropriate solutions have been discussed. 相似文献

The calibration algorithm for RPC-based muon detector at BESIII has been developed. The calibration method, calibration error and algorithm performance are studied. The primary results of efficiency and noise at layer, module and strip levels have been calibrated with cosmic ray data. The calibration constants are available for simulation and reconstruction tuning. The results of Monte Carlo and data are also compared to check the validation and reliability of the algorithm. 相似文献

We describe some recent results on isospin breaking corrections which are of relevance for predictions of the leading order hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment aμ^had.LO when using τ lepton data. When these corrections are applied to the new combined data on the π^±π^0 spectral function, the prediction for aμ^had.LO based on τ lepton data gets closer to the one obtained using e^+e^- data. 相似文献

A prototype laser ion source that could demonstrate the possibility of producing intense pulsed high charge state ion beams has been established with a commercial Nd:YAG laser (E =3 J, 1064 rim, ~ 10 ns) to produce laser plasma for the research of Laser Ion Source (LIS). At the laser ion source test bench, high purity (99.998%) aluminum and lead targets have been tested for laser plasma experiment. An Electrostatic Ion Analyzer (EIA) and Electron Multiply Tube (EMT) detector were used to analyze the charge state and energy distribution of the ions produced by the laser ion source. The maximum charge states of A112+ and Pb7+ were achieved. The results will be presented and discussed in this paper. 相似文献
