The BESⅢ drift chamber and its subsystems need a cosmic-ray test after the chamber construction to check the chamber construction quality,testing the joint operation of the whole system and the performance of the chamber.The noise performance,drift time and charge measurements,and the scanning of channels were examined specifically.The preliminary results of the test indicate that the whole system works well. 相似文献

The chamber production and installation of the BESⅢ MUON identifier system have been finished. The cosmic ray test result after installation shows that the average efficiency is bigger than 95% and can meet the requirement of the design report. A database including all the chamber parameters and performance data has been constructed and is accessible online. After the construction of the BESⅢ drift chamber, a long period of cosmic rays test is necessary to verify its performance. This also provides a good opportunity to integrate the detector readout electronics and Detector Control System (DCS) into a unified working system. The goal of the DCS is to guarantee reliable physics data quality and the safe operation of the detector. It monitors and controls the HV, gas, VME crates and the nvironmental variables. The upper-level system is mainly developed from LabVIEW and the lower-level system mainly uses MCU and PLC technology. The system is designed to be highly flexible and scalable so that it can be applied to other detectors with little or no change. In the immediate future, it will be integrated into the entire BESⅢ Slow Control System. 相似文献

We describe the algorithm to reconstruct the charged tracks for BESⅢ main drift chamber at BEPCⅡ, including the track finding and fitting. With a new method of the Track Segment Finder (TSF), the results of present study indicate that the algorithm can reconstruct the charged tracks over a wide range of momentum with high efficiency, while improving the robustness against the background noise in the drift chamber. The overall performances, including spatial resolution, momentum resolution and secondary vertices reconstruction efficiency, etc. satisfy the requirements of BESⅢ experiment. 相似文献

The BESⅢ ·RPC with Gd coating as thermal neutron detector was designed and constructed. Three prototypes were built with different techniques of producing the gadolinium converter. The performance of the cosmic ray test, the signal and the radiation spectrum were discussed in this paper. Lastly, the efficiency of one prototype with the best performance for detecting the thermal neutron was tested as 8.7%. 相似文献

The installation of the BESⅢ RPC system has been completed. Cosmic ray test results show that they perform very well in streamer mode and meet the BESⅢ requirements. We have tested several RPCs in the avalanche mode with the addition of extra SF6 in the gas mixture. We find an efficiency plateau that reaches ~95%, and a time resolution of 1.8 ns. This demonstrates that the BESⅢ-type RPC can work in the avalanche mode as well. 相似文献

The Beijing Spectrometer Ⅲ(BESⅢ)is a general-purpose detector used for the study of τ-charm physics at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider Ⅱ(BEPC Ⅱ).This paper presents our studies of the dE/dx measurement in the drift chamber of BESⅢ,which is important for the identification of charged particles.Corrections applied to the dE/dx measurement in data reconstruction are discussed.After our current dE/dx calibration,a resolution of about 6% has been obtained for minimum ionization particles,and a 3σ K/πseparation is obtained for momenta up to 760 MeV/c.These results meet the design goals of the BESⅢ drift chamber. 相似文献

In the NSC KIPT linac, a neutron source based on a subcritical assembly driven by a 100 MeV/100 kW electron linear accelerator is under design and development. The linear accelerator needs a new high current electron gun. In this paper, the physical design, mechanical fabrication and beam test of this new electron gun are described.The emission current is designed to be higher than 2 A for the pulse width of 3 μs with repetition rate of 50 Hz.The gun will operate with a DC high voltage power supply that can provide a high voltage up to 150 kV. Computer simulations and optimizations have been carried out in the design stage, including the gun geometry and beam transport line. The test results of high voltage conditioning and beam test are presented. The operation status of the electron gun system is also included. The basic test results show that the design, manufacture, and operation of the new electron system are basically successful. 相似文献

A new inner drift chamber has been built which can replace the aged part of the BESIII drift chamber when needed. The design of the new inner drift chamber can minimize the ineffective area in the very forward and backward region and hence reduce the background event rate. With this design, the new inner drift chamber is expected to have a longer lifetime and improved performance due to the lower occupancy. The endplates and the cylinder were machined with high precision. Wire stringing was performed after the mechanical structure was assembled, and good quality of wire stringing was ensured by measurement of the tension and leakage current of the wires. After completion of the physical construction of the new chamber, a cosmic-ray test was carried out to test its performance. The results of the cosmic-ray test show that the new inner chamber achieves a spatial resolution of127 μm and a d E/dx resolution of 6.4%, which satisfies the design specifications. 相似文献

The power voltages of Photomultipliers (PMTs) at RIBLL LASCAR scintillator detector array are distributed between 900 V and 1 800 V irregularly. 392 CC123 modules are employed to supply high voltage for the PMT array. The CC123 module serves as PMT interface groupware package, and it can transform 12 V DC input voltage to ranges of 0~-2200 V for the PMT power supply corresponding to 0~ 5 V output voltage from the control board crate. Offline calibration plays an important role in BES offline data processing. In order to achieve good spatial and momentum resolution, it is necessary to implement high precision offline calibration for the BES drift chamber. This paper studies the time-to-distance relations, which are important calibration constants for track reconstruction. The parameterization of the time-to-distance relation, studies of left-right asymmetry and studies of variation with entrance angle are performed. The impact of dead channels on the time-to-distance relation is given special attention in order to reduce the shift in measured momentum for tracks passing near dead cells. Finally we present the resolutions for barrel Bhabha events(|cos θ|< 0.8) from a J/ψ data set taken in 2012. The average spatial resolution is 123 μm and the momentum resolution for 1.548 Ge V/c Bhabha tracks is 11.9 Me V/c. 相似文献

The CsI(Tl) crystal modules of the Beijing Spectrometer Ⅲ (BESⅢ) electro-magnetic calorimeter (EMC) were designed and assembled through Monte Carlo simulation and experiments. The principle of the method for the BESⅢ TOF calibration using cosmic ray data without magnetic field are reported in this paper. After applying calibration constants, the single-end readout time resolution could reach about 150 ps, and the time resolution for one layer is achieved to be about 110 ps. CSR power supply system made a great progress in 2003. All power supplies for CSRm E-cooler have been accepted and put into operation since Feb. 2003. And we are preparing to test power supplies of CSRe cooler 31 sets pulsed convertor for CSRm quadruple magnet arrived in IMP. But their output current must be increased from 590 A to 700 A, because of higher beam energy. 12 of them can fit the new request, but the others have to be redesigned and reproduced. The dipole power supply was assembled in plant and by using the power supply was some experiment made. The first test results was excited. Now this device has been installed in IMP and connected with the dipole magnet. We invited a public bidding for RIBLL2 and CSRe power supplies last September. Two companies provided 128 power supplies, which will be delivered to IMP before June 2004. 相似文献

The rapid cycling synchrotron(RCS) is part of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS). The RCS provides 1.6 Ge V protons with a repetition rate of 25 Hz. The RF system in RCS is mainly composed of a ferrite loaded RF cavity, a high power tetrode amplifier, a bias supply of 3300 A and a digital low level RF(LLRF) system based on FPGA. The major challenge of the LLRF system is to solve problems caused by rapid frequency sweeping and the heavy beam loading effect. A total of eight control loops are applied to ensure the normal operation. An effective feedforward scheme is widely used to improve the dynamic performance of the system. The design of the LLRF system and high power integration test results with the prototype RF system are presented. 相似文献

The calibration algorithm for RPC-based muon detector at BESⅢ has been developed. The calibration method, calibration error and algorithm performance are studied. The primary results of efficiency and noise at layer, module and strip levels have been calibrated with cosmic ray data. The calibration constants are available for simulation and reconstruction tuning. The results of Monte Carlo and data are also compared to check the validation and reliability of the algorithm. 相似文献
