Given a connected graph G=(V,E)with a nonnegative cost on each edge in E,a nonnegative prize at each vertex in V,and a target set V′V,the Prize Collecting Steiner Tree(PCST)problem is to find a tree T in G interconnecting all vertices of V′such that the total cost on edges in T minus the total prize at vertices in T is minimized.The PCST problem appears frequently in practice of operations research.While the problem is NP-hard in general,it is polynomial-time solvable when graphs G are restricted to series-parallel graphs.In this paper,we study the PCST problem with interval costs and prizes,where edge e could be included in T by paying cost xe∈[c e,c+e]while taking risk(c+e xe)/(c+e c e)of malfunction at e,and vertex v could be asked for giving a prize yv∈[p v,p+v]for its inclusion in T while taking risk(yv p v)/(p+v p v)of refusal by v.We establish two risk models for the PCST problem with interval data.Under given budget upper bound on constructing tree T,one model aims at minimizing the maximum risk over edges and vertices in T and the other aims at minimizing the sum of risks over edges and vertices in T.We propose strongly polynomial-time algorithms solving these problems on series-parallel graphs to optimality.Our study shows that the risk models proposed have advantages over the existing robust optimization model,which often yields NP-hard problems even if the original optimization problems are polynomial-time solvable.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the solvability and waveform relaxation methods of linear variable-coefficient differential-algebraic equations (DAEs). Most of the previous works have been focused on linear variable-coefficient DAEs with smooth coefficients and data, yet no results related to the convergence rate of the corresponding waveform relaxation methods has been obtained. In this paper, we develope the solvability theory for the linear variable-coefficient DAEs on Legesgue square-integrable function space in both traditional and least squares senses, and determine the convergence rate of the waveform relaxation methods for solving linear variable-coefficient DAEs.  相似文献

本文讨论越过临界状态的奇异扩散方程Cauchy问题和带非线性边界条件的第二边值问题的可解性与不可解性.主要结果是(1)若‖u0‖L1(R)<+∞,则对任意的正数T,方程的Cauchy问题在带型区域QT=R×(0,T)中不存在关于变量x为L1(R)可积的正解;(2)当且仅当T≤T0,矩形区域GT=(0,1)×(0,T)中的一类非线性边值问题存在唯一的经典解,其中T0=u0=∫10u0(x)dx.  相似文献

Killing form plays a key role in the theory of semisimple Lie algebras. It is natural to extend the study to Lie algebras with a nondegenerate symmetric invariant bilinear form. Such a Lie algebra is generally called a quadratic Lie algebra which occur naturally in physics^[10,12,13]. Besides semisimple Lie algebras, interesting quadratic Lie algebras include the Kac-Moody algebras and the Extended Affine Lie algebras. In this paper, we study solvable quadratic Lie algebras. In Section 1, we study quadratic solvable Lie algebras whose Cartan subalgebras consist of semi-simple elements. In Section 2,we present a procedure to construct a class of quadratic Lie algebras, and we can exhaust all solvable quadratic Lie algebras in such a way. All Lie algebras mentioned in this paper are finite dimensional Lie algebras over a field F of characteristic 0.  相似文献

In this paper, the following two problems are considered:Problem Ⅰ. Given S∈E Rn×p,X,B 6 Rn×m, find A ∈ SRs,n such that AX = B, where SR8,n = {A∈ Rn×n|xT(A - AT) = 0, for all x ∈ R(S)}.Problem Ⅱ. Given A* ∈ Rn×n, find A ∈ SE such that ||A-A*|| = minA∈sE||A-A*||, where SE is the solution set of Problem Ⅰ.The necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of and the general form of the solutions of problem Ⅰ are given. For problem Ⅱ, the expression for the solution, a numerical algorithm and a numerical example are provided.  相似文献
