A technique is developed which gives explicit expressions forthe error terms associated with the asymptotic expansions ofthe Stieltjes transform of f, S _f(z) = ₀ f(t)/t + z dt. Here z is a complex parameter in the cut plane \arg z\ <, and f(t) is a locally integrable function on [0, ). Near infinitywe assume that f(t) is either algebraically decaying or oscillatory.From the explicit expressions, strict and realistic error boundscan be obtained. Explicit error terms are also given for asymptoticexpansions of Laplace and Fourier transforms of small argument.Our approach is based on the theory of distributions.     

On Weighted Spaces of Harmonic and Holomorphic Functions

Weighed spaces of harmonic and holomorphic functions on theunit disc are studied. We show that for all radial weights whichare not decreasing too fast the space of harmonic functionsis isomorphic to c₀. For the weights that we consider we completelycharacterize those spaces of holomorphic functions which areisomorphic to c₀. Moreover, we determine when the Riesz projection,mapping the weighted space of harmonic functions onto the correspondingspace of holomorphic functions, is bounded.

Lacunary series and sharp estimates in weighted spaces of holomorphic functions

The well-known Paley inequalities for lacunary series are applied in investigation of weighted spaces H(p, α) and H(p, log(α)) of functions holomorphic in the unit disc of the complex plane. These are spaces which are similar to the Bloch and Hardy spaces and naturally arise as the images of some fractional operators.
