EFFECT OF MOLYBDENUM PROMOTER ON THE Cu-Co BASED CATALYSTS

The synthesis of mixed alcohols (C1-C5) from syngas has been studied at 6. 0 MPa over modified Co/CuLaZr catalysts. The molybdenum addition enhanced greatly the activity and the selectivity to alcohols. The improvement of hydrogenation capacity of the system via a reversible spillover effect of hydrogen could explain this effect, together with a great capacity of CO insertion, illustrated by the effect of C2H4 addition as a probe to syngas. Under our experimental conditions, a mixed alcohol production of 147.1g/kg. cat/h containing a proportion of 33. 1% of higher alcohols (C2 OH) was obtained with a selectivity to ROH of 52. 8%.

Gear-like array of (H_2O)_(12) as building blocks in one-dimensional supramolecular assembly

The preparation and crystal structure of complex Co(Hsae)_2·2H_2O (1,H_2sae=N-salicylidene-2-iminoethanol) are reported.X- ray analysis revealed that every six Co(Hsae)_2 forms a cyclic chip and every 12 water forms a novel gear-like cluster.Acting as building blocks,the gear-like water cluster and complex chip are connected in A-B fashion and extend into one-dimensional supramolecular chain.Hydrogen bond is the primary bridging force in the formation of supramolecular framework.

EFFECTS OF K_2O AND MnO PROMOTERS ON THE PRODUCTION OF LIGHT ALKENES VIA SYNGAS OVER Fe/SILICALITE-2 CATALYST I.ACTIVITY OF K-Fe-MnO/SILICALIT-2 CATALYST

The activity and the selectivity to light alkenes of silicalite-2 (Si-2) zeolite supported F'e catalyst tor CO hydrogenation can he improved obviously with the addition of K2O and MnO promoters. The results of CO hydrogenation, CO-TPD, CO/H2-TPSR, C2H4/H2-TPSR and C2H4/H2 pulse reaction over K-Fe-MnO/Si-2 catalysts clearly show that the K2O additive into Fe-MnO/Si-2 catalyst leads to a remarkable increase in both the capacity and strength of the strong CO ad-species that will produce much more |Cad| via their disproportionation at higher temperatures. This results in an increase in the CO conversion and the selectivity to light olefins, and a decrease in CH4 formation. Moreover, K2O can suppress the disproportionate of C2H4 that occurs during the reaction as a side-reaction Meanwhile, the MnO promoter mainly prohibits the hydrogenation of C2H4 and C3H6, which is favorable to enhancing the selectivity to C2H4 and C3H6 and decreasing the formation of C2H6, and C3H8. Retention behaviour of carboxylic acid methyl esters in supercritical fluid chromatography

The study on retention behavior in supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) is necessary to understand the mechanism of the various interactions in SFC. The retention of SFC in carboxylic acid methyl ester/polymethylsiloxane/CO2 system was studied systematically and the retention behavior of this kind of compounds under various typical operation conditions was described using the method of an alternative unified theory of chromatographic retention. The results illustrated that expression: Ink.= a + b/T + cp + dp/T + ep2/T can be used to describe quantitatively the retention behavior of carboxylic acid methyl ester/polymethylsiloxane/CO2 system in the ranges of reduced density from 0.549 to 1.411. It was also found that the entropy of solute in stationary phase is dependent on the density of supercritical fluid (SF) under typical operating conditions of SFC.     

An efficient synthesis of 2-(guaiazulen-1-yl)furan derivatives via intramolecular Wittig reactions

An efficient and mild synthesis of 2-(guaiazulen-1-yl)furans,starting from easily accessible 1-(3-aryl-2-cyanopropenoyl) guaiazulenes,tributylphosphine and acyl chlorides,is described.The strategy employs the intramolecular Wittig protocol as a key step to append the crticial furan ring,leading to the highly functional furans in good yields.     

Synthesis and fungicidal activity of novel strobilurin analogues containing substituted N-phenylpyrimidin-2-amines

A number of novel strobilurin analogues containing substituted N-phenylpyrimidin-2-amines were synthesized.The structures of these new compounds were confirmed by ~1H NMR,IR and elemental analysis.Biological evaluation in the greenhouse showed several compounds have good fungicidal activities at 25 mg/L.
