We present a theoretical analysis of the noise performance of phase measuring feedback interferometers. We first analyse the operation of this kind of instrument and note that under certain circumstances bistability can occur. The bistable region should be avoided if possible when using feedback interferometry for high-accuracy measurement with low-input powers, as it can give rise to very high-noise levels. We then go on to investigate the effects of shot noise (on the interferometer output signal) and thermal noise (in the feedback loop), and relate these to the phase measurement accuracy of the interferometer. A ‘best-case’ calculation indicates that phase noise of about 0.005λ is possible at input powers in the nanowatt region. In practice, we expect that noise levels will be higher than predicted (particularly at high-input powers) due to the effects of vibration and air turbulence. 相似文献

This paper analyzes some Routh-Hurwitz stability conditions generalized to the fractional order case, and discusses the stability region of the fractional order system. We analyze the chaotic behavior of the fractional order modified coupled dynamos system concretely, and provide the conditions suppressing chaos to unstable equilibrium points, then use the feedback control method to control chaos in the fractional order modified coupled dynamos system. We implement active feedback control in a Q-switched diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser by monitoring the fluorescence intensity from the laser crystal. When the initial inversion level indicated by the detected fluorescence has reached a predetermined value, Q-switching is initiated. The Q-switched pulse energy is stabler with our feedback scheme based on the fluorescence intensity than that with the conventional Q-switching when pumping source is not stable. 相似文献

This paper, motivated by the need to predict performance of production systems with random arrivals, setup times and revisitation,
presents an imbedded Markov chain analysis of the underlyingM/G/1 queue with two customer classes, changeover times and instantaneous Bernoulli feedback. It is assumed that jobs are scheduled
according to the exhaustive alternative priority queue discipline. Expressions for the mean waiting time and the nonsaturation
condition are derived under two different priority assignments to the repeat customers. Sojourn times under these priority
assignments are shown to possess a convex ordering. Results of the study are also applicable to data communication networks
that operate under cyclic switching mechanisms.

A novel low cost, non-contact optical vibration sensor requiring only a single optoelectronic component has been developed. It consists of a continuous wave semiconductor laser operating with external optical feedback. Vibrations have been measured at frequencies of up to 600 Hz with target reflectivities lower than 5%. When calibrated, the sensor demonstrates satisfactory output for submicron vibration amplitudes. Accuracies of 0.2% have been obtained over a range of 1 mm. 相似文献

In this study, we explored how a sample of eight students used variational reasoning while discussing ordinary differential equations (DEs). Our analysis of variational reasoning draws on the literature with regard to student thinking about derivatives and rate, students’ covariational reasoning, and different multivariational structures that can exist between multiple variables. First, we found that while students can think of “derivative” as a variable in and of itself and also unpack derivative as a rate of change between two variables, the students were often able to think of “derivative” in these two ways simultaneously in the same explanation. Second, we found that students made significant usage of covariational reasoning to imagine relationships between pairs of variables in a DE, and that mental actions pertaining to recognizing dependence/independence were especially important. Third, the students also conceptualized relationships between multiple variables in a DE that matched different multivariational structures. Fourth, importantly, we identified a type of variational reasoning, which we call “feedback variation”, that may be unique to DEs because of the recursive relationship between a function’s value and its own rate of change. 相似文献

In this article the local stability of the Rabinovich–Fabrikant (R–F) chaotic system with fractional order time derivative is analyzed using fractional Routh–Hurwitz stability criterion. Feedback control method is used to control chaos in the considered fractional order system and after controlling the chaos the authors have introduced the synchronization between fractional order non-chaotic R–F system and the chaotic R–F system at various equilibrium points. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. Numerical simulation results which are carried out using Adams–Boshforth–Moulton method show that the method is effective and reliable for synchronizing the systems. 相似文献

We consider the minimization problem of an integral functional with integrand that is not convex in the control on solutions of a control system described by fractional differential equation with mixed nonconvex constraints on the control. A relaxation problem is treated along with the original problem. It is proved that, under general assumptions, the relaxation problem has an optimal solution, and that for each optimal solution there is a minimizing sequence of the original problem that converges to the optimal solution with respect to the trajectory, the control, and the functional in appropriate topologies simultaneously. 相似文献
