Passively mode-locked Tm,Ho:YVO4 laser based on a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror

We report the demonstration of passively continuous-wave mode-locking(CWML) of diode-pumped Tm,Ho:YV04 laser using an InGaAs/GaAs multiple quantum-well(MQW) structure semiconductor as the saturable absorber.Stable mode-locking pulses at the central wavelength of 2 041 nm are obtained. The maximum output power is 151 mW.The pulse duration is 10.5 ps at the repetition rate of 64.3 MHz.     

Experimental investigation on a software synchronous optical sampling technique based on periodically poled lithium niobate

A software synchronous optical sampling system is constructed based on sum frequency generation (SFG) in periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN). Five gigahertz of a non-return-to-zero (NRZ) data signal is sampled by sampling pulse with the repetition frequency of 29.31 MHz. The power of the SFG light is set at 23 dBm, and an eye diagram is successfully recovered. A band-pass filter is added before the sampling pulse is subjected to erbium-doped fiber amplifier to reduce gain competition and ensure a high power level of SFG.     

In situ aberration measurement technique based on multi-illumination settings and principal component analysis of aerial images

The impact of lens aberrations becomes severe when the critical dimensions (CDs) shrink. The accurate measurement of both low- and high-order Zernike aberrations is important during a photolithographic process. Based on the multi-illumination settings and principal component analysis of aerial images, a novel in situ aberration measurement technique that can accurately measure all the Zernike aberrations, except for the sinusoidal 2-θ and sinusoidal 4-θ terms (under polar coordinates, and Z 1 to Z 4 are not considered) is proposed in this letter. The estimated maximum error of the Zernike aberrations ranges from 0.43 to 0.78 mλ when the amplitudes of the Zernike coefficients range from -20 to 20 mλ. The standard and root mean square errors are both in the range from 0.14 to 0.4 mλ.     

Method to identify time delay of chaotic semiconductor laser with optical feedback

We propose a power spectrum analysis method to directly identify the time delay of a chaotic semiconductorlaser with optical feedback. By measuring the radio frequency (RF) power spectrum of the chaotic laserand performing an inverse Fourier transform, we can easily unveil all the time delay signatures, regardless ofwhether the chaotic output is induced by single or multiple feedback. This method successfully retrieves thetwo time delay signatures from the power spectrum of a semiconductor laser with double-cavity feedback.

Constructive characterizations of （γp, γ）- and （γp, γpr）-trees

Let G =(V,E) be a graph without isolated vertices.A set S  V is a domination set of G if every vertex in V -S is adjacent to a vertex in S,that is N[S] = V .The domination number of G,denoted by γ(G),is the minimum cardinality of a domination set of G.A set S  V is a paired-domination set of G if S is a domination set of G and the induced subgraph G[S]has a perfect matching.The paired-domination number,denoted by γpr(G),is defined to be the minimum cardinality of a paired-domination set S in G.A subset S  V is a power domination set of G if all vertices of V can be observed recursively by the following rules:(i) all vertices in N[S] are observed initially,and(ii) if an observed vertex u has all neighbors observed except one neighbor v,then v is observed(by u).The power domination number,denoted by γp(G),is the minimum cardinality of a power domination set of G.In this paper,the constructive characterizations for trees with γp = γ and γpr = γp are provided respectively.
