We demonstrate a label-free photonic biosensor with double slots based on micro-ring resonator. The footprint is less than 25 μm × 15 μm. Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to analyze the influence of several key parameters on the performance of the double-slots micro-ring resonators. An asymmetric structure is considered for the ring waveguide in order to improve the sensor's bending efficiency. Our numerical analysis shows that the sensitivity of double-slot micro-ring resonator sensor with the radius of 5 μm reaches a value of 708 nm/RIU. The quality factor of 580 and the free spectral range (FSR) of 33 nm are achieved. 相似文献

采用精确、严格的全矢量模式匹配法,计算了三维脊型弯曲波导和条形弯曲波导的本征模式,分析了模式折射率和辐射损耗随弯曲半径的变化关系.计算结果与已报道的有限差分法的结果符合很好.对文献中已报道但没有深入分析的现象给出了合理的解释.半径为50和12 μm的条形波导的计算结果表明:当波导的弯曲半径减小时,发生在分界面处的TE-TM模耦合会显著增强,这将导致弯曲波导中的模式不再是传统意义上的准TE模和准TM模,而是混合模.随着半径的减小,混合模的横向分量之间的差异会减小,当两个横向分量达到近似相等的强度时,波导的偏振相关性将会大大减小.

研究了用于光互连的聚硅氧烷多模光波导直接弯曲时弯曲损耗与圆弧曲率半径的关系。用Marcuse的直波导近似法理论计算了其弯曲损耗,理论计算表明弯曲损耗随模阶数的增加而变大,随半径的减少而变大;光在波导中传输时,总弯曲损耗出现阶跃式变化,并且曲率半径大于4 mm时,波导的弯曲损耗小于1dB/cm。用BeamPROP仿真软件仿真了5、10、20mm三种曲率半径下的传输光场情况。利用数字化散射法测量了其弯曲损耗,实验结果显示曲率半径在5~6mm时弯曲损耗值在0.55~0.8dB/cm之间,考虑所制备的聚硅氧烷直波导固有的传输损耗,实验值与理论值基本相符。 相似文献

Curvature of a multimode integrated optical waveguide reduces the numerical aperture and induces radiation losses. In this paper, we study this phenomenon and we present a geometrical approach to calculate the local numerical aperture and the intensity attenuation. We exploit the bending effect on the local numerical aperture to make a new intrinsic temperature sensor. The simulation results are validated for the silica/silicone integrated optical case. The principal performances of the silica/silicone temperature sensor are the extended temperatures range (−50 to 200 °C) with an excellent linearity response (1%) between 20 and 200 °C. 相似文献

2D triangular photonic crystals (PCs) have been integrated as laser mirrors in electrically pumped InGaAs/AlGaAs ridge waveguide lasers. The investigated PC lattice constants range from 160 to 400 nm with light incident along both main symmetry directions M and K. The observed cw laser performance is strongly dependent on both orientation and period of the PC. This behaviour is discussed using a 2D transfer matrix calculation of the PC reflectivity. As a demonstrator device relying on the 2D light confining properties of the PC, an active beamsplitter with a bending radius of 5 m is presented. Here, the PC is successfully used as cladding material in the S-bent regions of the ridge waveguide, significantly reducing the bending loss. 相似文献

The scattering behavior of an anisotropic acoustic medium is analyzed to reveal the possibility of routing acoustic signals through the anisotropic layers with no backscattering loss. The sound-transparent effect of such a medium is achieved by independently modulating the anisotropic effective acoustic parameters in a specific order, and is experimentally observed in a bending waveguide by arranging the subwavelength structures in the bending part according to transformation acoustics. With the properly designed filling structures, the original distorted acoustic field in the bending waveguide is restored as if the wave travels along a straight path. The transmitted acoustic signal is maintained nearly the same as the incident modulated Gaussian pulse. The proposed schemes and the supporting results could be instructive for further acoustic manipulations such as wave steering, cloaking and beam splitting. 相似文献

We proposed and fabricated an N:N optical coupler using an integrated waveguide mirror. Optical circuits can be miniaturized with small bending by reflecting mirrors. The parabolic curve was applied to the mirror shape because it was necessary to collimate the reflected beam so as to distribute the input light to the output waveguides. We fabricated the 8:8 optical coupler using silica waveguide. The chip size was about 7mm x 15mm. The excess loss of the device was about 8 dB larger than simulation results calculated using beam propagation method. The dependence on the wavelength and polarization was about 0.4 and 0.15 dB, respectively. The excess loss was mainly attributed to the mirror tilt and will be reduced by optimizing the etching conditions to decrease the mirror tilt angle. 相似文献

Anisotropic metamaterial with only one component of the mass density tensor near zero(ADNZ) is proposed to control the sound wave propagation. We find that such an anisotropic metamaterial can be used to realize perfect bending waveguides. According to a coordinate transformation, the surface waves on the input and output interfaces of the ADNZ metamaterial induces the sound energy flow to be redistributed and match smoothly with the propagating modes inside the metamaterial waveguide. According to the theory of bending waveguide, we realize the "T"-type sound shunting and convergence, as well as acoustic channel selection by embedding small-sized defects. For an automatic testing of the fiber bending loss parameter, we proposed an on-line fiber optic bending loss measurement system. Many impact factors from the supporting systems, free space coupling alignment, external spatial perturbation device and the other automatic testing systems may degrade the on-line fiber-optic bending loss measurement system. We reduce those impact factors and show the mechanical and electrical improvement in this paper. The accuracy can be improved by 3–5 dB for the proposed on-line bending loss measurement system. Development of an on-line fiber-optic bending loss measurement system can provide a fast-checking solution for jump-line quality improvement on fiber-from-the-desk (FFTD) access network. 相似文献

在Sottini等人提出的求解非球面光波导短程透镜一般解析方法的基础上,研究了卷边函数对透镜旋转母线曲率的影响。指出具有连续二阶导数的母线,可有效地消除曲率奇点,从而在理论上能够减小由于波导弯曲造成的导光损耗。基于这种观点,提出了一种新的卷边函数,求得了透镜轮廓的表达式,进而求得了透镜深度,并与Sottini等人的解进行了比较。 相似文献

In this paper,we demonstrate six types of metamaterial absorbers(MMAs) by measuring their absorptivities in an X-band(8-12 GHz) rectangular waveguide.Some of the MMAs have been demonstrated previously by using the free space measurement method,and the others are proposed firstly in this paper.The measured results show that all of the six MMAs exhibit high absorptivities above 98%,which have similar absorbing characteristics to those measured in the free space.The numerically obtained surface current densities for each MMA show that the absorbing mechanism is the same as that under the free space conditions.Such a demonstration method is superior to the conventional free space measurement method due to the small-scale test samples required,the simple measure device,and its low cost.Most importantly,the proposed method opens a way to enable MMAs to be used in microwave applications such as matched terminations. 相似文献
