单长周期光栅迈克耳孙干涉仪特性研究

单长周期光栅迈克耳孙（Michelson）干涉仪是由尾纤端面蒸镀高反膜的单根长周期光纤光栅构成。入射光经长周期光栅后，部分被耦合到包层中传输。经过包层和纤芯传输的光信号经尾纤端面反射后，重新耦合回到长周期光栅中，在光栅区域形成干涉。通过理论计算分析了各种因素对其光谱响应的影响。从实验上得到了干涉光谱的谐振峰波长位移与光纤段温度变化成良好的线性关系，测得其温度系数为31．3pm／℃。表明这种结构可用于高温传感或作为波分复用滤波器。     

Polarization-dependent characteristics of a racetrack waveguide resonator fabricated by ion exchange in K9 glass

A racetrack waveguide resonator filter was fabricated by ion exchange technology in K9 optical glass. The filter responses of the waveguide resonator were measured with two polarized input lightwaves. The polarization-dependent characteristics of the waveguide resonator were analyzed, and the results of effective indices of nTE = 1.5721 and nTM = 1.5548, coupling ratios of rTE = 0.731 and rTM = 0.761, and losses ofαTE = 4.35 dB/cm andαTM = 6.05 dB/cm were obtained for transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) modes, respectively. The causes of large loss and effective index differences between TE and TM modes were discussed.     

Suppression of mode competition in fiber lasers by using a saturable absorber and a fiber ring

An erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser was configured with a fiber grating, a fiber ring resonator, and a saturable absorber by using un-pumped EDF as mode selection element. The laser showed single mode operation with a narrow linewidth of 5 kHz. The mode selection mechanisms of the un-pumped EDF and the ring resonator are theoretically and experimentally analyzed.     

Analysis of dispersion compensation for position-dependence in externally modulated CATV lightwave systems by using chirped fiber grating

光栅子结构对光纤光栅特性的影响

用传输矩阵法对具有不同参数的λ／４移相结构，多节λ／４移相结构，有效折射率调制结构，耦合系数调制结构和“缝合”误差结构等五种光栅子结构进行了数值模拟计算，模拟结果解释了作者研制的均匀光纤光栅，相移光纤光栅的传输谱，也验证了其他研究小组发表的实验结果，通过对各种结构的系统研究了，提出了一些新的利用光纤光栅的设想。     

Generation of millimeter-wave sub-carrier optical pulse by using a Fabry-Perot interferometer

A novel scheme is proposed to transform a Gaussian optical pulse to a millimeter-wave (mm-wave) fre-quency modulation pulse by using a Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) for radio-over-fiber (ROF) system. It is shown that modulation frequency of mm-wave is determined by the optical path of the Fabry-Perot (F-P) cavity, and amplitude decay time and energy transfer efficiency are related to the reflectivity of the F-P cavity mirror. The effect of pulse train extension on inter-symbol interference is also discussed.

实验研究了注入光对光纤光栅外腔半导体激光器阈值电流的影响,给出了可同时获得高消光比和高转换速率的注入电流范围。采用载流子消耗机抽对实验结果进行了实性分析。     

Design of all-optical temporal differentiator using a Moir fiber grating

We design and demonstrate an all-optical temporal differentiator based on a simple Moir fiber grating operated in reflection. The simulation results prove that a single Moir fiber grating with only one π-phase shifted point can act as the first-order temporal differentiator and that a Moir fiber grating incorporating two symmetrical π-phase shifted points can act as the second-order temporal differentiator. A practical Moir fiber grating is fabricated, thereby proving that such a grating can act as the first-order temporal differentiator. Our results verify the feasibility, flexibility, and accuracy of the proposed method.     

Generation of millimeter-wave sub-carrier optical pulse by using cascaded all-pass cavities

A novel scheme is proposed to transform an ultra-short optical pulse to a millimeter-wave frequencymodulated pulse by using the cascaded all-pass cavities （APCs）. The envelope waveform of the generated pulse train is calculated, showing effective improvement by APC cascading. The extinction ratio is analyzed with different input pulses, different cavity reflectivities, and different cascading numbers. It is shown that the cascading does not introduce much effect on the extinction ratio. Two designs by using Gires-Tournois cavity and waveguide ring resonators are proposed to realize the cascaded APC.     

马赫—曾德尔型全光分插复合器特性调整的实验研究

分析了影响基于光纤光栅和马赫－曾德尔干涉仪的光分／插复用器（OADM）的特性的原因,根据理论分析和模拟计算,提出通过监控输入端口的背向反射光特性和局部加热的方法来判断和相应调整器件的参数,并用来模拟紫外激光修正过程。实验结果验证了这一方法的可行性。
