The China JinPing underground Laboratory (CJPL) is the deepest underground laboratory running in the world at present. In such a deep underground laboratory, the cosmic ray flux is a very important and necessary parameter for rare-event experiments. A plastic scintillator telescope system has been set up to measure the cosmic ray flux. The performance of the telescope system has been studied using the cosmic rays on the ground laboratory near the CJPL. Based on the underground experimental data taken from November 2010 to December 2011 in the CJPL, which has an effective live time of 171 days, the cosmic ray muon flux in the CJPL is measured to be (2.0±0.4)×10-10/(cm2 ·s). The ultra-low cosmic ray background guarantees an ideal environment for dark matter experiments at the CJPL.  相似文献

A future Higgs factory is being designed for precise measurement of Higgs characteristics and to search for new physics. In this paper we propose that the Higgs-photon associated production process, e+e-→γh could be a useful channel for new physics. We express new physics model-independently in the effective Lagrangian approach,and find that the new physics effects of γh have only two degrees of freedom, much fewer than the Higgsstrahlung process. This point could be used to reduce the degeneracies of Wilson coefficients. We also calculate for the first time the 95% confidence level(CL) bounds of γh at the Higgs factory, and prove that γh is more sensitive to some dimension-6 operators than the current experimental data. In the optimistic scenario new physics effects may be observed at the CEPC or FCC-ee after the first couple of years of their run.  相似文献

The dynamical behavior of an intruder immersed in a two-dimensional shaken granular bed is experimentally investigated. With two types of background particles, f-Г phase diagrams depicting the intruder's motion are measured and compared. It is found that even with the same size and density ratio of the intruder to the background particles, the intruder exhibits a distinct behavior at given vibrational conditions: rising behavior in one granular bed; sinking behavior in another granular bed. We slightly tune the size and density ratio to confirm the reliability of the experimental results. In addition, we examine the influences of interstitial air, convection and the initial position on the intruder's motion, speculating that the opposite motion could be traced to the material properties of the background particles.  相似文献

To study the electromagnetic (EM) backscatter characteristics of freak waves at moderate incidence angles, we establish an EM backscattering model for freak waves in (1+1)-dimensional deep water. The nonlinear interaction between freak waves and Bragg short waves is considered to be the basic hydrodynamic spectra modulation mechanism in the model. Numerical results suggest that the EM backscattering intensities of freak waves are less than those from the background sea surface at moderate incidence angles. The normalised radar cross sections (NRCSs) from freak waves are highly polarisation dependent, even at low incidence angles, which is different from the situation for normal sea waves; moreover, the NRCS of freak waves is more polarisation dependent than the background sea surface. NRCS discrepancies between freak waves and the background sea surface with using horizontal transmitting horizomtal (HH) polarisation are larger than those with using vertical transmitting vertical (VV) polarisation, at moderate incident angles. NRCS discrepancies between freak waves and background sea surface decreases with the increase of incidence angle, in both HH and VV polarisation radars. As an application, in the synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) imaging of freak waves, we suggest that freak waves should have extremely low backscatter NRCSs for the freak wave facet with the strongest slope. Compared with the background sea surface, the freak waves should be darker in HH polarisation echo images than in VV echo images, in SAR images. Freak waves can be more easily detected from the background sea surface in HH polarisation images than in VV polarisation images. The possibility of detection of freak waves at low incidence angles is much higher than at high incidence angles.  相似文献

Ultraperipheral collisions(UPCs) of protons and nuclei are important for the study of the photoproduction of vector mesons and exotic states.The photoproduction of vector mesons in the pentaquark resonance channel in p-Au UPCs at the Relative Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC) and p-Pb UPCs at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) is investigated by employing the STARlight package.The cross sections of vector mesons via the pentaquark state resonance channel are obtained using the effective Lagrangian method.The pseudo-rapidity and rapidity distributions of J/Ψ and γ(1 S) are given for p-Au UPCs at the RHIC and p-PbUPCs at the LHC.It is found that the RHIC is a better platform for discovering pentaquark states than the LHC.Moreover,Pb(11080) is easier to identify than PC(4312) because the background of γ(1 S) is weaker than that of J/Ψ in the t-channel at the RHIC.  相似文献

Monochromatic γ-rays are thought to be the smoking gun signal for identifying dark matter annihilation. However, the flux of monochromatic γ-rays is usually suppressed by virtual quantum effects since dark matter should be neutral and does not couple with γ-rays directly. In this work, we study the detection strategy of the monochromatic γ-rays in a future space-based detector. The flux of monochromatic γ-rays between 50 GeV and several TeV is calculated by assuming the supersymmetric neutralino as a typical dark matter candidate. The detection both by focusing on the Galactic center and in a scan mode that detects γ-rays from the whole Galactic halo are compared. The detector performance for the purpose of monochromatic γ-ray detection, with different energy and angular resolution, field of view, and background rejection efficiencies, is carefully studied with both analytical and fast Monte-Carlo methods.  相似文献

A γ/hadron separation analysis is described for the observed air shower events with primary energy above 100 TeV based on the Tibet ASγ detector configuration. The shower age and size parameters are fitted from the measured lateral density distribution and used as discrimination variables. According to the MC simulation while taking into account the systematic uncertainty estimated from data and MC comparison, it is found that 70% of the cosmic ray (CR) background can be rejected while more than 78% of the γ-rays can be retained. Sensitivity for 100 TeV γ-rays observation can thus be improved by at least 40%.  相似文献

In this paper, a heuristic approach based on Slavic's peak searching method has been employed to estimate the width of peak regions for background removing. Synthetic and experimental data are used to test this method. With the estimated peak regions using the proposed method in the whole spectrum, we find it is simple and effective enough to be used together with the Statistics-sensitive Nonlinear Iterative Peak-Clipping method.  相似文献

采用蒙特卡罗方法模拟计算光子的探测效率需对高纯锗( HPGe ) 探测器进行准确的建模。模拟计算研究了HPGe 晶体长度对探测效率的影响,并在空间不同的测量位置对放射源进行测量,将模拟计算与实验测量相结合,对探测器晶体的尺寸进行调整,获得了HPGe 探测器晶体的模拟计算的准确尺寸,并在122s1 332 keV 能量范围内对模拟结果进行了验证。结果表明,在此能量范围内HPGe 探测器的探测效率的模拟计算值与实验测量值的相对偏差大多数在5% 内,并建立点源探测效率与探测器轴向距离的关系。The accurate shape of HPGe detector is needed in order to calculate its detection efficiency with Monte Carlo methods. In our calculation, the influence of the HPGe crystal size on efficiency has been investigated; the final crystal sizes were determined by comparison with experiments and were validated by the experimental efficiency obtained at several source-to-detector positions. The results show that when the crystal dimensions determined are used to calculate the detection efficiency in the energy range 122s1 332 keV, the relative deviations between simulated and most experimental results were within 5%. In addition, the relationship between detection efficiency and axial distance to detector was established.  相似文献

Cavitation damage has been considered as being responsible for many effects in hydraulic machinery and biological medicine. In order to better understand the cavity interaction with nearby solid surfaces, the impact loading induced by the high-speed liquid-jet and subsequent jet flow during the final stage of the bubble collapse in a static fluid is investigated by focusing a Q-switched pulsed laser into water. By means of a new method based on a fibre-coupling optical beam deflection technique, a detailed experimental study has been made to clarify the relationship of the impact pressure against a solid boundary as a function of the dimensionless γ that is generally used to describe the bubble dynamics with its definition γ= s/R_{max}(R_{max} being the maximum bubble radius and s denoting the distance of the cavity inception from the boundary). The experimental results are shown that for γ in the range of about 0.67 to 0.95 with a pulsed laser energy 230mJ, the transient pressure applied on the solid surface is maximum; while for γ>1 or γ<0.67, it is gradually decreased. By combination of our experimental results with the other work that detected the acoustic emission during the bubble collapse at different γ, it is concluded that in this range of 0.67-0.95, the destructive effect due to a liquid-jet and the following jet flow impact actually outweighs the well-known effect of shock wave emission and plays a vital role during the cavitation bubble collapse.  相似文献

15 MeV电子直线加速器驱动的光中子源装置,将用于中国科学院战略性先导科技专项“钍基熔盐堆”中的核数据初步测量工作、中子探测器的研制和反应堆相关材料的辐照研究等。光中子源的中子能谱是连续的,中子能量通过中子飞行时间法测量得到,需要利用吸收片确认中子吸收峰,刻度飞行时间,计算等效飞行距离,扣除实验本底等,而实验本底的扣除对最终总截面计算有很大的影响。因此通过Geant4蒙特卡罗模拟软件构建了包括中子源、吸收片在内的模拟实验环境;研究了不同吸收片的吸收谱和吸收片厚度的关系,同理论计算值进行了比较,给出了推荐的吸收片厚度值;模拟计算了中子飞行时间谱,并和实验测量结果比较,确定中子等效飞行距离为5.70 m。Geant4的理论计算也可以模拟出多吸收片本底函数曲线,可用于实验数据的本底扣除和误差分析。实验测量、模拟分析以及理论公式计算的吸收片厚度和中子飞行时间参数得到了完全一致的结果,验证了实验测量的可靠性。A photo-neutron source driven by a 15 MeV electron LINAC is built for the "Strategic Priority Research Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences-the "thorium-based molten salt reactor" project to conduct the nuclear data measurement work,develop neutron detector and carry out reactor material irradiation studies.Since the neutron energy spectrum is continuous,the neutron energy is measured by the time of flight (TOF) method,and neutron filters are needed to confirm absorption peaks,calibrate the TOF,calculate the equivalent flight distance,and remove the experimental background which has great influence on the calculation accuracy of the total cross section.Based on the Monte Carlo simulation tool,Geant4 a simulation environment is set up,including neutron source and neutron filters,to study the energy absorption spectra and thickness of different filters and recommended data for the thickness are provided.The neutron TOF spectra are simulated and compared with experimental measurement,deciding the equivalent TOF distance to be 5.7 m.Geant4 can also simulate the background curve of multiple filters and be used to remove background and analyze errors for the experimental data.All the experiments,simulation and theoretical calculation show consistent results on filter thickness and neutron TOF parameters,indicating the accuracy of the measurement.  相似文献

Based on the quark-gluon contents of nucleon and strongly believing that the force mediators, Pomeron and its counterpart in the conventional approach of Regge theory, for high energy diffractive process would be the tensor glueball and Odderon respectively, we discuss photo-production of vector meson Ф off the deuteron at energy less than 3 GeV in the QCD inspired model in which the quark gluon degrees of freedom and glueball, Odderon exchange are taken into account. A calculation is performed for γ + D →Ф + D, and the theoretical predictions of the differential cross section dσ^γD/dt, are presented and compared with available experimental data. Our QCD inspired model reproduces data quite well in the whole range of the experimental measurements up to |t| ≌ 0.4 GeV. Our results can be used to extract γn → Фn data, which cannot be measured in experiment.  相似文献

The chiral magnetic effect(CME)is a novel transport phenomenon,arising from the interplay between quantum anomalies and strong magnetic fields in chiral systems.In high-energy nuclear collisions,the CME may survive the expansion of the quark-gluon plasma fireball and be detected in experiments.Over the past two decades,experimental searches for the CME have attracted extensive interest at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC)and the Large Hadron Collider(LHC).The main goal of this study is to investigate three pertinent experimental approaches:the$\gamma$correlator,the R correlator,and the signed balance functions.We exploit simple Monte Carlo simulations and a realistic event generator(EBE-AVFD)to verify the equivalence of the core components among these methods and to ascertain their sensitivities to the CME signal and the background contributions for the isobar collisions at the RHIC.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a method of digital in-line holography of particle. A diverging spherical beam is used for illumination in recording hologram, the complex amplitude distribution generated by particle field at a single plane located in the Fresnel diffraction region is recorded by CCD, and a plane beam for reconstructing hologram, then, the magnified image can be obtained by numerical reconstruction in computer. This procedure can be interpreted by Fourier optical theory and the theoretical analysis have been done in detail, the experimental results, the air freshener being subject, are also given.  相似文献

We study near-threshold η meson production in pp collisions within an effective Lagrangian approach combined with the isobar model, by allowing for the various intermediate nucleon resonances due to the π, η, and ρ-meson exchanges. It is shown that the ρ-meson exchange is the dominant excitation mechanism for these resonances,and the contribution from the N*(1720) is dominant. The total cross section data can be reasonably reproduced,and the anisotropic angular distributions of the emitted η meson are consistent with experimental measurements.Besides, the invariant mass spectra of pp and pη explain the data well at excess energy of 15 Me V, and are basically consistent with the data at excess energy of 40 Me V. However, our model calculations cannot reasonably account for the two-peak structure in the pη distribution at excess energies of 57 and 72 Me V, which suggests that a more complicated mechanism is needed at higher energy region.  相似文献

Wind noise at the surface of the Earth limits the detection of infrasonic waves with periods longerthan 10s.For infrasonic arrays designed to improvc the signal-to-noise ratio of the infrasonic waves,it is usually assumed that the background noise due to wind turbulence is incoherent between thearray elements. The principle and the technique for designing the infrasonic array are presented,the calibrationmethod of the array is described in detail and the experimental results are given in this paper. From a large amount of statistical data,we get the result improving a signal-to-noise ratio of12 dB with the infrasonic array.  相似文献

In this paper, the giant magnetoresistance(GMR) multilayer sensor is fabricated with a Wheatstone bridge, and it exhibits excellent performance with a sensitivity of 2.8349 mV/(V/Oe)(1 Oe = 79.5775 A·m~(-1)) and a saturation field of 26 Oe along the sensitive axis. The GMR sensor is also characterized in a high magnetic field. The sensitivity decreases from 2.8349 mV/(V/Oe) at an angle of 0°to 0.0175 mV/(V/Oe) at an angle of 90°. Then, the sensor is placed in a series of rotating magnetic fields. We propose a model to express the output characteristics of the GMR multilayer sensor. The transfer curves of the sensor can be shown as two exactly symmetrical circles with an increasing radius when the magnetic field increases. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation results of the model. The advantage of this model is that it is simpler and more intuitive.  相似文献

Understanding the radiation background at the north crossing point (NCP) in the tunnel of BEPCII is crucial for the performance safety of the High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detector, and in turn of great significance for long-term stable running of the energy measurement system. Therefore, as the first step, a NaI(Tl) detector is constructed to continuously measure the radiation level of photons as background for future experiments. Furthermore, gamma and neutron dosimeters are utilized to explore the radiation distribution in the vicinity of the NCP where the HPGe detector will be located. Synthesizing all obtained information, the shielding for neutron irradiation is studied based on model-dependent theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Our recent experimental work on metallic and insulating interfaces controlled by interfacial redox reactions in SrTiO3-based heterostructures is reviewed along with a more general background of two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)at oxide interfaces.Due to the presence of oxygen vacancies at the SrTiO3surface,metallic conduction can be created at room temperature in perovskite-type interfaces when the overlayer oxide ABO3has Al,Ti,Zr,or Hf elements at the B sites.Furthermore,relying on interface-stabilized oxygen vacancies,we have created a new type of 2DEG at the heterointerface between SrTiO3and a spinelγ-Al2O3epitaxial film with compatible oxygen ion sublattices.This 2DEG exhibits an electron mobility exceeding 100000 cm2·V 1·s 1,more than one order of magnitude higher than those of hitherto investigated perovskite-type interfaces.Our findings pave the way for the design of high-mobility all-oxide electronic devices and open a route toward the studies of mesoscopic physics with complex oxides.  相似文献
