In this paper, we consider the nonconforming rotated Q 1 element for the second order elliptic problem on the non-tensor product anisotropic meshes, i.e. the anisotropic affine quadrilateral meshes. Though the interpolation error is divergent on the anisotropic meshes, we overcome this difficulty by constructing another proper operator. Then we give the optimal approximation error and the consistency error estimates under the anisotropic affine quadrilateral meshes. The results of this paper provide some hints to derive the anisotropic error of some finite elements whose interpolations do not satisfy the anisotropic interpolation properties. Lastly, a numerical test is carried out, which coincides with our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In this article, a nonconforming quadrilateral element(named modified quasiWilson element) is applied to solve the nonlinear schr¨odinger equation(NLSE). On the basis of a special character of this element, that is, its consistency error is of order O(h~3) for broken H1-norm on arbitrary quadrilateral meshes, which is two order higher than its interpolation error, the optimal order error estimate and superclose property are obtained. Moreover, the global superconvergence result is deduced with the help of interpolation postprocessing technique. Finally, some numerical results are provided to verify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the finite volume element methods on quadrilateral mesh for second-order elliptic equation with variable coefficients. An error estimate in L 2 norm is shown on the quadrilateral meshes consisting of h 2-parallelograms. Superconvergence of numerical solution is also derived in an average gradient norm on h 2-uniform quadrilateral meshes. Numerical examples confirm our theoretical conclusions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a so-called modified Q 1-finite volume element scheme that is obtained by employing the trapezoidal rule to approximate the line integrals in the classical Q 1-finite volume element method. A necessary and sufficient condition is obtained for the positive definiteness of a certain element stiffness matrix. Based on this result, a sufficient condition is suggested to guarantee the coercivity of the scheme on arbitrary convex quadrilateral meshes. When the diffusion tensor is an identity matrix, this sufficient condition reduces to a geometric one, covering some standard meshes, such as the traditional h 1+γ -parallelogram meshes and some trapezoidal meshes. More interesting is that, this sufficient condition has explicit expression, by which one can easily judge on any diffusion tensor and any mesh with any mesh size h > 0. The H 1 error estimate of the modified Q 1-finite volume element scheme is obtained without the traditional h 1+γ -parallelogram assumption. Some numerical experiments are carried out to validate the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Summary. A new a posteriori residual error estimator is defined and rigorously analysed for anisotropic tetrahedral finite element meshes. All considerations carry over to anisotropic triangular meshes with minor changes only. The lower error bound is obtained by means of bubble functions and the corresponding anisotropic inverse inequalities. In order to prove the upper error bound, it is vital that an anisotropic mesh corresponds to the anisotropic function under consideration. To measure this correspondence, a so-called matching function is defined, and its discussion shows it to be a useful tool. With its help anisotropic interpolation estimates and subsequently the upper error bound are proven. Additionally it is pointed out how to treat Robin boundary conditions in a posteriori error analysis on isotropic and anisotropic meshes. A numerical example supports the anisotropic error analysis. A low order anisotropic nonconforming rectangular finite element method for the convection-diffusion problem with a modified characteristic finite element scheme is studied in this paper. The O(h2) order error estimate in L2-norm with respect to the space, one order higher than the expanded characteristic-mixed finite element scheme with order O(h), and the same as the conforming case for a modified characteristic finite element scheme under regular meshes, is obtained by use of some distinct properties of the interpolation operator and the mean value technique, instead of the so-called elliptic projection, which is an indispensable tool in the convergence analysis of the previous literature. Lastly, some numerical results of the element are provided to verify our theoretical analysis.

In this article, two Morley type non‐C0 nonconforming rectangular finite elements are discussed to numerically solve the fourth order plate bending problem under anisotropic meshes. The optimal anisotropic interpolation error and consistency error estimates are obtained by using some novel approaches. The main aim of this paper is to study the error estimates of a rectangular nonconforming finite element for the stationary Navier-Stokes equations under anisotropic meshes. That is, the nonconforming rectangular element is taken as approximation space for the velocity and the piecewise constant element for the pressure. The convergence analysis is presented and the optimal error estimates both in a broken H1-norm for the velocity and in an L2-norm for the pressure are derived on anisotropic meshes.  相似文献

In this paper the optimal L 2 error estimates of the finite volume element methods (FVEM) for Poisson equation are discussed on quadrilateral meshes. The trial function space is taken as isoparametric bilinear finite element space on quadrilateral partition, and the test function space is defined as piecewise constant space on dual partition. Under the assumption that all elements on quadrilateral meshes are O(h 2) quasi-parallel quadrilateral elements, we prove convergence rate to be O(h 2) in L 2 norm.  相似文献

In this paper, we apply EQ rot 1 nonconforming finite element to approximate Signorini problem. If the exact solution u∈H5/2(Ω), the error estimate of order O(h) about the broken energy norm is obtained for quadrilateral meshes satisfying regularity assumption and bi-section condition. Furthermore, the superconvergence results of order O(h3/2) are derived for rectangular meshes. Numerical results are presented to confirm the considered theory.  相似文献

We prove anisotropic interpolation error estimates for quadrilateral and hexahedral elements with all possible shape function spaces, which cover the intermediate families, tensor product families and serendipity families. Moreover, we show that the anisotropic interpolation error estimates hold for derivatives of any order. This goal is accomplished by investigating an interpolation defined via orthogonal expansions.  相似文献

In this paper, a new splitting positive definite nonconforming mixed finite element method is proposed for pseudo-hyperbolic equations, in which a quasi-Wilson quadrilateral element is used for the flux p, and the bilinear element is used for u. Superconvergence results in ||·||div,h norm for p and optimal error estimates in L2 norm for u are derived for both semi-discrete and fully discrete schemes under almost uniform meshes.  相似文献

This paper presents a robust a posteriori residual error estimator for diffusion-convection-reaction problems with anisotropic diffusion, approximated by a SUPG finite element method on isotropic or anisotropic meshes in Rd, d=2 or 3. The equivalence between the energy norm of the error and the residual error estimator is proved. Numerical tests confirm the theoretical results.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to have an accurate analysis on the famous Adini's element for the second order problems under to the anisotropic meshes. We firstly show that the interpolation of Adini's element satisfy the anisotropic property. Then the optimal error estimate is obtained without the regularity assumption on the meshes.  相似文献

In the present paper, we study model singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problems with exponential boundary layers. It has been believed for some time that only a complete splitting of the exact solution into regular and layer parts provides the information necessary for the study of the uniform convergence properties of numerical methods for these problems on layer-adapted grids (such as Shishkin meshes). In the present paper, we give new proofs of uniform interpolation error estimates for linear and bilinear interpolation; these proofs are based on the older a priori bounds derived by Kellogg and Tsan [1].  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new linear cell-centered finite volume multipoint flux approximation (MPFA-QL) scheme for discretizing diffusion problems on general polygonal meshes. This scheme uses a quasi-local stencil, based upon the conormal decomposition, to approximate the control face flux when solving the steady state diffusion problem, being able to reproduce piecewise linear solutions exactly and it is very robust when dealing with heterogeneous and highly anisotropic media and severely distorted meshes. In our linear scheme, we first construct the one-sided fluxes on each control surface independently and then a unique flux expression is obtained by a convex combination of the one-sided fluxes. The unknown values at the vertices that define a control surface are interpolated by means of a linearity-preserving interpolation procedure, considering control volumes surrounding these vertices. To show the potential of the MPFA-QL scheme, we solve some benchmark using triangular and quadrilateral meshes and we compare our scheme with other numerical formulations found in literature.  相似文献

The numerical approximation by a lower order anisotropic nonconforming finite element on appropriately graded meshes are considered for solving singular perturbation problems. The quasi-optimal order error estimates are proved in the ε-weighted H1-norm valid uniformly, up to a logarithmic factor, in the singular perturbation parameter. By using the interpolation postprocessing technique, the global superconvergent error estimates in ε-weighted H1-norm are obtained. Numerical experiments are given to demonstrate validity of our theoretical analysis.  相似文献
