The boundedness of the every solution and the asymptotic behavior of all solutions of the nonlinear neutral delay differential equation [x(t) - P(t)x(t - t)]' Q1 (t)f(x{t-σ1))-Q2(t)f(x(t -σ2))=0,t≥t0 are investigated, whereτ,σ1,σ2∈(0,∞), P∈C([t0,∞),R), and Q1,Q2∈C([t0,∞),R), f∈C(R,R). Several oscillation criteria are given for the second order nonlinear differential equation with damped term of the form [α(t)(y'(t))σ]' p(t)(y'(t))σ q(t)f(y(t)) = 0, where α∈C(R, (0,∞)), p(t) and q(t) are allowed to change sign on [t0, ∞), and f∈C1 (R, R) such that xf(x) > 0 for x ≠0. We investigate stability and convergence of solutions of a system of nonlinear difference equations approximating a system of nonlinear parabolic equations. A linear system of similar structure is also considered. An energy norm is constructed for the linear system, and stability and convergence in this norm are proved under certain necessary conditions. The thermistor problem is an initial-boundary value problem of coupled nonlinear differential equations. The nonlinear PDEs consist of a heat equation with the Joule heating as asource and a current conservation equation with temperature-dopendent electrical conductivity.This problem has important opplicatioJls in industry. In this paper, A new finite differencescheme is proposed on nonuniform rectangular partition for the thermistor problem. In the theo-retical analyses,the second-order error estimates are obtained for electrical potential in discrete L^2 and H^1 norms,and for the temperature in L^2 norm. In order to get these second-order errorestimates,the Joule heating source is used in a changed equivalent form.  相似文献

In this paper, a new compact finite difference scheme is proposed for a periodic initial value problem of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with wave operator. This is an explicit scheme of four levels with a discrete conservation law. The unconditional stability and convergence in maximum norm with order \(O(h^{4}+\tau ^{2})\) are verified by the energy method. Those theoretical results are proved by a numerical experiment and it is also verified that this scheme is better than the previous scheme via comparison.  相似文献

An effective finite difference scheme for solving the nonlinear Fermi–Pasta–Ulam (FPU) problem is derived. The most important feature of the scheme inherits energy conservation property from the nonlinear FPU problem. The unique solvability and the convergence of the difference scheme are proved by the energy method. The convergence order is in the maximum norm, where τ is the temporal grid size and h is the spatial grid size, respectively. In addition, the stability of the difference scheme is obtained.
