Measurement of the e + e − → ηπ+π− cross section in the \sqrt s = 1.04–1.38-GeV energy range with a spherical neutral detector at the VEPP-2M collider

The e ⁺ e ^? → ηπ⁺π^? cross section in the η → 2γ channel has been measured in the $ \sqrt s $ = 1.04- to 1.38-GeV energy range. The data with a total integrated luminosity of 9.05 pb^?1 were collected on a spherical neutral detector at the VEPP-2M collider. The results are consistent with the BaBar and CMD2 data and have a higher statistical accuracy.     

Antioxidant properties of water-soluble amino acid derivatives of fullerenes and their role in the inhibition of herpes virus infection

The antioxidant properties of water-soluble amino acid derivatives of fullerene C₆₀ (ADF) were studied. It was shown by the change in the concentration of malonic dialdehyde in rat brain mitochondria that the ADF are antioxidants. They were shown by the change in the luminol glow to possess antiradical activity, which is determined by the acceptor properties of the fullerene spheroid and is independent of the structure of the attached addends. Stereoselectivity of the antioxidant properties of the enantiomers of amino acid derivatives of fullerene C₆₀ was found. The L-isomers of ADF inhibit lipid peroxidation, whereas the D-isomers do not inhibit. A reliable correlation between the development of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and the process of lipid peroxidation in the cell culture was established. An efficient inhibitor of the CMV infection from the class of amino acid derivatives of fullerene with antioxidant activity was obtained.

     

Measurement of the cross section for the e + e ? → ωπ0 → π0π0γ process in the energy range of 1.1–1.9 GeV

The cross section for the e ⁺ e ^? ?? ???⁰ ?? ??⁰??⁰?? process has been measured in the energy range of 1.1?C1.9 GeV. The measurement has been made with the Spherical Neutral Detector at the VEPP-2000 e ⁺ e ^? collider. The data in the energy range of 1.1?C1.4 GeV are in agreement with the earlier measurements with the SND and CMD-2 detectors. The cross section has also been measured above 1.4 GeV.

Study of the process e+e-→π+π-π0π0 at energies √s< 1 GeV

In an experiment with the Spherical Neutral Detector at VEPP-2M collider the cross section of the process e+e-→π+π-π0π0 was measured. At energies √s < 920 MeV this cross section was measured for the first time. The energy dependence of the cross section is well discribed by the vector dominance model with contributions from ρ, ρ' ρ", mesons. The decay probability ρ→π+π-π0π0was found to be Bρ = (1.60±0.74±0.18)×10-5. The upper limit for the decay ω→π+π-π0π0 was improved by two orders of magnitude compared to the previous measurements and is Bω < 2 × 10-4 at 90% confidence level.     

Study of process e + e − → π+π−π0π0 at energies √s < 1 GeV with the spherical neutral detector

The cross section for the process e ⁺ e ^? → π⁺π^?π⁰π⁰ has been measured in an experiment with a spherical neutral detector, with the cross section at energies √s < 920 MeV having been measured for the first time. The model of vector dominance describes well the data obtained if the ρ, ρ′, and ρ″ resonances are taken into account. The probability of the decay ρ → π⁺π^?π⁰π⁰ is B(ρ → π⁺π^?π⁰π⁰) = (1.60 ± 0.74 ± 0.18) × 10^?5. The upper limit for the decay ω → π⁺π^?π⁰π⁰ has been improved by two orders of magnitude compared to previous measurements and is B(ω → π⁺π^?π⁰π⁰) < 2 × 10^?4 at a 90% confidence level.     

Membranotropic properties of fullerene-containing amphiphilic (co)polymers of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-vinylpyrrolidone

The effect of fullerene-containing amphiphilic (co)polymers of N-vinylpyrrolidone (C₆₀/PVP) differed in composition and topology of the polymer chains on the membrane structure of phosphatidylcholine liposomes was studied. Using the method of fluorescent probes it was found that the C₆₀/PVP structures under study are localized in the phosphatidylcholine membrane in the region of glycerol fragments and fatty acid chains of phospholipids. The C₆₀/PVP copolymers form complexes with 2,7-dibromoproflavin and pyrene probes. The effective equilibrium constants of the probe–C₆₀/PVP complexes in aqueous solutions and in the liposome membrane were determined. It is most likely that the fullerene-containing (co)polymers of N-vinylpyrrolidone form complexes not only with fluorescent probes but also with phospholipids of the liposome membrane, which reduces the stability of the probe–C₆₀/PVP complex.
