Surface Engineering of Conjugated Polybenzothiadiazoles and Integration with Cobalt Oxides for Photocatalytic Water Oxidation

Conjugated polymers feature promising structure and properties for photocatalytic water splitting. Herein, a hydrolysis strategy was demonstrated to rationally modulate the surface hydrophilicity and band structures of conjugated poly-benzothiadiazoles. High hydrophilicity not only enhances the dispersions of polymeric solids in an aqueous solution but also reduces the absorption energy of water molecules. Besides, both theoretical and experimental results reveal that a more positive valence band potential is generated, which contributes to enhancing the photocatalytic water oxidation performance. Accordingly, the surface-modified conjugated polymers show largely promoted photocatalytic water oxidation activities by deposition of cobalt oxides as cocatalysts.     

Highly Efficient Ir(III)-Coumarin Photo-Redox Catalyst for Synergetic Multi-Mode Cancer Photo-Therapy

Four photo-catalysts of the general formula [Ir(CO6/ppy)₂(L)]Cl where CO6=coumarin 6 ( Ir1 – Ir3 ), ppy=2-phenylpyridine ( Ir4 ), L=4′-(3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-2,2′ : 6′,2′′-terpyridine ( Ir1 ), 4′-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-2,2′ : 6′,2′′-terpyridine ( Ir2 and Ir4 ), and 4-([2,2′ : 6′,2′′-terpyridin]-4′-yl)-N,N-dimethylaniline ( Ir3 ) were synthesized and characterized. These photostable photo-catalysts ( Ir1 – Ir3 ) showed strong visible light absorption between 400–550 nm. Upon light irradiation (465 and 525 nm), Ir1 – Ir3 generated singlet oxygen and induced rapidly photo-catalytic oxidation of cellular coenzymes NAD(P)H. Ir1 – Ir3 showed time-dependent cellular uptake with excellent intracellular retention efficiency. Upon green light irradiation (525 nm), Ir2 provided a much higher photo-index (PI=793) than the clinically used photosensitizer, 5-aminolevulinicacid (5-ALA, PI>30) against HeLa cancer cells. The observed necro-apoptotic anticancer activity of Ir2 was due to the Ir2 triggered photo-induced intracellular redox imbalance (by NAD(P)H oxidation and ROS generation) and change in the mitochondrial membrane potential. Remarkably, Ir2 showed in vivo photo-induced catalytic anticancer activity in mouse models.

Local discontinuous Galerkin method for a nonlocal viscous conservation laws

The purpose of this article is to investigate high‐order numerical approximations of scalar conservation laws with nonlocal viscous term. The viscous term is given in the form of convolution in space variable. With the help of the characteristic of viscous term, we design a semidiscrete local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) method to solve the nonlocal model. We prove stability and convergence of semidiscrete LDG method in L² norm. The theoretical analysis reveals that the present numerical scheme is stable with optimal convergence order for the linear case, and it is stable with sub‐optimal convergence order for nonlinear case. To demonstrate the validity and accuracy of our scheme, we test the Burgers equation with two typical nonlocal fractional viscous terms. The numerical results show the convergence order accuracy in space for both linear and nonlinear cases. Some numerical simulations are provided to show the robustness and effectiveness of the present numerical scheme.     

Microstructure evolution and passivation quality of hydrogenated amorphous silicon oxide(a-SiOx:H) on〈100〉- and 〈111〉-orientated c-Si wafers

Hydrogenated amorphous silicon oxide(a-SiOx:H) is an attractive passivation material to suppress epitaxial growth and reduce the parasitic absorption loss in silicon heterojunction(SHJ) solar cells. In this paper, a-SiOx:H layers on different orientated c-Si substrates are fabricated. An optimal effective lifetime(τ(eff)) of 4743 μs and corresponding implied opencircuit voltage(iV(oc)) of 724 mV are obtained on〈100〉-orientated c-Si wafers. While τ(eff) of 2429 μs and iV_oc of 699 mV are achieved on 111-orientated substrate. The FTIR and XPS results indicate that the a-SiOx:H network consists of SiOx(Si-rich), Si–OH, Si–O–SiHx, SiO2 ≡ Si–Si, and O3 ≡ Si–Si. A passivation evolution mechanism is proposed to explain the different passivation results on different c-Si wafers. By modulating the a-SiOx:H layer, the planar silicon heterojunction solar cell can achieve an efficiency of 18.15%.     

梯级溃坝洪水洪峰增强机制

我国在多条河流上修建了大量梯级水库, 梯级坝溃决诱发洪水大大超过单坝溃决洪水洪峰, 因此亟需加深对梯级坝溃决洪水洪峰增强机制的认识. 本文建立了梯级坝溃决洪水演进过程的一维浅水动力学模型, 发展了一套能捕捉激波、干湿边界和保平衡结构的数值求解方法, 通过大量算例, 系统研究了梯级坝溃决洪水演进过程的质量转化和能量转化机制. 研究结果表明, 梯级溃决中, 上游溃决诱发的洪水大大增大下游水库的质量和动量, 形成一个带动量的水塔, 同时在尾部残留一个动量较大的射流, 不断补充下游坝体溃决后水塔的质量和动量, 持续维持洪峰高度. 根据该射流-水塔机制, 建立了梯级坝溃决洪水演进过程对应的射流-水塔单坝溃决洪水过程等效模型, 该等效模型基本反映了梯级坝溃决诱发洪水的洪峰过程, 并成功预测了多个坝间距为百公里量级的梯级坝溃决洪水洪峰高程和流量, 可望为流域防洪和梯级坝设计提供理论依据.      

Cobalt-Catalyzed Regio- and Stereoselective Hydroboration of Allenes

An efficient pincer-ligand-based cobalt-complex-catalyzed allene hydroboration affording Z-allylic boronates is described. The reaction demonstrates an excellent regio- as well as Z-stereoselectivity and a wide substrate scope that tolerates many functional groups. Based on solvent-assisted electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (SAESI-MS) studies, a rationale for the cobalt-catalyzed hydroboration involving the highly selective insertion of an allene into the Co−H bond to form Z-allylic cobalt intermediates is proposed.     

可控化学腐蚀法制备碳化硅量子点及其表面修饰

通过可控的化学腐蚀法完成了对碳化硅量子点的制备,而后经超声空化作用及高速层析裁剪获得水相的碳化硅量子点溶液,利用化学偶联法,一步实现了SiC量子点的表面物化特性调控.通过对制备工艺参数调整前后量子点微观形貌、光谱特性的表征,结果表明:腐蚀次数、腐蚀剂组分及腐蚀剂配比是影响碳化硅量子点光致发光效率的主要因素,调整腐蚀次数与腐蚀剂组分的配比,同时加入偶联剂分析纯硫酸,当以V(HF):V(HNO3):V(H2 SO4)=6:1:1(体积比)的组分及比例腐蚀球磨后的β-SiC粉体时,制备出的水相碳化硅量子点光致发光相对强度最为理想.同时对碳化硅量子点表面巯基的形成机制与修饰稳定性进行了初步分析.
