The emission and the lifetime data of Cr, Yb: YAG and Yb: YAG were reported. The effective peak stimulated-emission cross section of chromium and ytterbium-co-doped yttrium-aluminum garnets (Cr, Yb: YAG) has been determined to be 8.98 × 10-20 cm2 at room temperature. The luminescence spectrum of Cr, Yb: YAG is the same as that of Yb: YAG. The luminescence lifetime of Cr, Yb: YAG at room temperature is 0.3 ms (Yb: YAG, 1.48 ms ). The causes of the differences in the fluorescence spectra and the stimulated emission cross-section between Yb: YAG and Cr, Yb: YAG crystals were discussed. Also the potential of Cr, Yb: YAG as a self Q- switched laser crystal was discussed.  相似文献

通过不同Yb3+掺杂浓度(5%~30%,原子数分数)的Yb:YAG晶体的阴极射线发光谱、衰减时间、光输出及其温度依赖关系的测量,研究了Yb:YAG晶体的闪烁性能.不同Yb3+掺杂浓度的Yb:YAG晶体具有不同的光输出和猝灭温度,光输出随Yb3+掺杂浓度的增大而降低,猝灭温度则随掺杂浓度的增大而升高.室温下Yb:YAG晶体的发光衰减时间较短,均小于50ns.Yb3+掺杂浓度为5%的Yb:YAG晶体具有较高的光输出和较低的猝灭温度.  相似文献

报道了(Cr^4+,Yb^3+):YAG晶体的吸收光谱和荧光光谱特性。在室温下,(Cr^4+,Yb^3+):YAG晶体在937nm和968nm处存在两个吸收带,能与InGaAs激光二级管有效耦合:而且在1030nm处有一Cr^4+吸收峰,可以实现对Yb^3+的自调Q激光输出。(Cr^+,Yb^3+):YAG 荧光光谱与Yb^3+:YAG晶体一样,发光中心也是位于1029nm,但其强度比Yb^3+:  相似文献

研究了不同掺杂浓度Yb∶YAG晶体的发光特性和荧光寿命.Yb3+在YAG晶体中的掺杂浓度分别为5at%、10at%、20at%、30at%.Yb3+离子掺杂浓度越高,Yb∶YAG晶体的吸收系数越大.采用940 nm波长的LD泵浦源和TRIA X550荧光谱仪,对这一系列掺有不同浓度Yb3+的Yb∶YAG晶体进行了荧光光谱的测定.结果表明:在1030 nm主发光波段的荧光强度以10at%Yb∶YAG的为最强.同时发现它在450 nm-680 nm波段有明显的可见发光,其强度随Yb3+掺杂浓度的增加而迅速地增强.Yb∶YAG晶体的荧光寿命存在浓度猝灭现象,对猝灭机制进行了分析研究,指出浓度猝灭的主要原因是合作发光和痕量稀土离子的上转换发光.  相似文献

Yb3+-doped NaGd(WO4)2 (Yb:NGW) crystal has been successfully grown by Czochralski method. The rocking curves from (400) plane of as-grown Yb:NGW crystal was measured and the full-width values at half-maximum was 21″. The polarized absorption spectra, the fluorescence spectra and the fluorescence decay lifetime of Yb:NGW crystal were measured at room temperature. The spectroscopic parameters of Yb:NGW crystal are calculated and compared, with those of Yb:YAG crystal. A continuous wave output power of 3.01 W at 1048 nm was obtained with a slope efficiency of 71% by use of diode pumping.  相似文献

The absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, and lifetimes of as-grown and annealed Cr,Yb:YAG crystal grown by Czochralski technique have been measured. The broad absorption bands in the visible region increase in intensity and shift to long wavelength after annealing, and the additional absorption around 482 nm may be possibly due to new octahedral Cr4+ center in the crystal, and the increase in the infrared (IR) region is due to the increase of Cra+. The increase of Cr4+ also results in the groud state absorption and the concentration quenching of Ybs+ in Cr,Yb:YAG crystal after annealing, the fluorescence intensity is reduced to 75% and the emission lifetime is shortened from 1.40 to 0.44 ms.  相似文献

The absorption spectra characters of the (Cr,Yb):YAG,Cr:YAG and Yb:YAG crystals are reported. In the absorption spectra of the (Cr,Yb): YAG crystal,there are two absorption bands at 937 nm and 968 nm respectively,which are suitable for InGaAs diode laser pumping;and there is an absorption band of Cr4+ near 1030 nm,which is suitable for passive Q switch laser output at 1.03 μm. This Cr-Yb-codoped crystal may be a potential material for compact,diode laser pumped passive Q-switched solid-state laser with efficient,high-stable.  相似文献

Optical properties of Cr,Yb:YAG, Cr,Nd:YAG crystals, and composite Yb:YAG/Cr:YAG ceramics self-Q-switched solid-state laser materials are presented. The merits of these self-Q-switched laser materials are given and the potentials of such lasers can be chosen by the applications. Cr,Yb:YAG and composite Yb:YAG/Cr:YAG ceramics self-Q-switched laser are conducted. Although several tens of kW peak power can be obtained with a monolithic microchip Cr,Yb:YAG laser, the experimental results show that the performance of this laser is limited by the absorption of Cr4+ ions at a pump wavelength of 940 nm and strong fluorescence quenching at high Cr concentration. Composite Yb:YAG/Cr:YAG ceramics are more suitable to realize high pulse energy and peak power (up to MW level) with optimized lasing and Q-switching parts. In addition, the instabilities induced by the multi-longitudinal mode competition in Cr,Nd:YAG and Cr,Yb:YAG microchip lasers are addressed. The different gain bandwidths of Yb:YAG and Nd:YAG play an important role in the instability of the output laser pulse trains. Stable laser pulses from the Cr,Yb:YAG microchip laser were obtained due to the antiphase dynamics. For the Cr,Nd:YAG microchip laser, the instability caused by the multi-longitudinal mode competition is an intrinsic property. Different transverse patterns were observed in Cr,Nd:YAG microchip lasers when a pump beam with larger diameter was used. Saturated inversion population distribution inside the gain medium plays an important role in the transverse pattern formation. Different transverse patterns were reconstructed by combining different sets of the Hermite-Gaussian modes.  相似文献

The absorption and fluorescence spectra of Cr,Yb:YAG crystal were measured. There are two absorption bands at 940 nm and 968 nm although the absorption coefficient is lower than that of the absorption peak of Yb:YAG superimposed in Cr:YAG absorption peak. The emission peak intensity is 4 times lower than that of Yb:YAG, which may be caused by the existence of the ground state absorption of Cr4+ which quenches the Yb3+ emission intensity. Although the emission peak of Cr,Yb:YAG is lower than that of Yb:YAG, there is an advantage of this crystal which combines the saturable absorber and gain medium into one and can be a self-Q switching laser crystal if Cr,Yb:YAG crystal is pumped with high energy power.  相似文献

研究了Yb:YAG晶体的合作发光现象。当用940nm的近红外光激发时,Yb:YAG晶体有明显的上转换蓝色发光。实验发现498 nm的蓝色发光强度与激发功率的平方成正比,而且Yb3+掺杂浓度越高,蓝色发光越强。分析表明这是Yb3+间强的相互作用导致的合作发光,是由于Yb3+在共价性的YAG基质中,它的4f13电子易于与近邻离子发生相互作用导致的。  相似文献

A theoretical model based on a quasi-four-level system is modified to investigate the effect of Yb concentration on performance of continuous-wave Yb:YAG microchip lasers by taking into account temperature-dependent thermal population distribution, temperature-dependent emission cross-section and concentration-dependent fluorescence lifetime, thermal loading, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficient. The local temperature rise in Yb:YAG crystal caused by the absorbed pump power plays an important role in the laser performance of Yb:YAG microchip lasers working at ambient temperature without actively cooling the sample. The output wavelengths dependent on output coupling, Yb concentration, and pump power level were analyzed quantitatively. The numerical simulation of Yb:YAG microchip lasers is in good agreement with experimental data. The optimized laser operation for Yb:YAG microchip lasers is proposed by varying the thickness and output coupling for different Yb concentrations. The effect of thermal lens, thermal deformation effect, and saturated inversion population distribution inside the Yb:YAG crystal on performance of heavy-doped Yb:YAG microchip lasers are also addressed. Laser crystal Yb3+-doped NaY(WO4)2 (Yb:NYW) with excellent quality has been grown by Czochralski technique. The rocking curves from (400) plane of as-grown Yb:NYW crystal was measured and the full-width value at half-maximum was 19.92″. The effective segregation coefficients were measured by the X-ray fluorescence method. The polarized absorption spectra and the fluorescence spectra of Yb:NYW crystal were measured at room temperature. The fluorescence decay lifetime of Yb3+ ion in NYW crystal has been investigated. The spectroscopic parameters of Yb:NYW crystal are calculated and compared with those of Yb:YAG crystal. A continuous wave output power of 3.06 W at 1031 nm was obtained with a slope efficiency of 42% by use of diode pumping.  相似文献

高温熔制Er3+,Yb3+离子掺杂CaO-Y2O3-Al2O3-SiO2系统玻璃,并进行微晶化处理,研究了微晶玻璃中Er3+离子的发光及上转换发光特性,分析了微晶玻璃上转换发光机理.结果表明:原始玻璃经热处理得到了Er,Yb:YAG微晶玻璃,微晶玻璃中Er3+离子在室温下4I13/24I15/2跃迁产生横盖1450—1650nm区间的超宽带荧光,荧光半高宽达180nm,这可能由于YAG微晶相中Er3+离子与玻璃相中残留Er3+离子的共同发光;Er3+与Yb3+离子局域基质声子能量的降低使微晶玻璃Er3+离子上转换发光强度与原始玻璃相比显著提高,绿光、红光上转换荧光强度比玻璃样品分别增强约7和3倍;微晶化后Er3+,Yb3+离子局域环境发生变化也导致微晶玻璃中Er3+离子绿光、红光上转换发光相对强度发生变化. 关键词: 铒 镱:钇铝石榴石 微晶玻璃 荧光光谱  相似文献

The dynamics and the spectral kinetic characteristics of the plume emerging in the vicinity of graphite targets, pressed pellets consisting of zirconium oxide powder stabilized with yttrium (YSZ) and yttrium-aluminum oxides with neodymium (YAO:Nd), and single-crystal YAG:Cr are studied. The targets are irradiated in air at room temperature using a repetitively pulsed CO2 laser with a wavelength of 10.6 μm, a peak power of up to 9 kW, a pulse energy of 1.69 J, and a pulse duration of 330 μs at a level of 0.1. The plume propagates normally to the target surface at an angle of 45° relative to the laser radiation. The spectral kinetic characteristics of the plume luminescence are discretely measured along the entire length. It is demonstrated that the plumes of all targets (except for the single-crystal YAG:Cr) represent the flows of a weakly nonequilibrium gas plasma with a temperature of 10 kK (graphite) and 3.1–4.7 kK (YSZ and YAO:Nd pressed pellets). The plume size is determined by the peak power of the laser pulse. The luminescence of the two-atom radicals (C2 in graphite; ZrO and YO in YSZ; and YO, AlO, and NdO in YAO:Nd) dominates in all of the plumes. A single radical (YO) and the spectral lines of atoms and atomic ions are observed in the YAG:Cr plume. A relatively high temperature of the graphite plume is maintained owing to the energy of the exothermic reaction involving the association of carbon atoms and the energy of the vibrationally excited molecules resulting from this reaction. 在用引上法生长的Yb:YAG晶体中,存在一个独特的色心,其吸收带位于375nm的625nm,随着Yb2O3掺杂浓度的增加,色心浓度增加,探讨了晶体生长过程中色心形成机理。高强γ射线辐照Yb:YAG晶体,诱导大量色心的形成。晶体中的 对激发态Yb^3+离子的荧光寿命具有流淬火效应,因此,Yb:YAG激光晶体需要经高温退火,消除色心的影响。  相似文献

研究了Yb2O3浓度对Tm3 /Yb3 共掺氧卤碲酸盐玻璃的上转换发光的影响,分析了上转换发光机理。结果发现,通过980 nm的激光二极管激发,在室温下同时观察到强烈的蓝光(475 nm)和微弱的红光(649 nm),分别是由于Tm3 离子1G4→3H6和1G4→3F4跃迁产生的;上转换机理分析表明,上转换蓝光和红光都是由于双光子吸收过程。随Yb2O3浓度增加,Yb3 离子寿命降低,Yb3 到Tm3 的能量转移效率增加,上转换蓝光和红光强度先增加,在Yb2O3摩尔比为3时达到最大,然后降低。分析认为,Yb3 的浓度猝灭主要是由于3H4(Tm3 )→2F5/2(Yb3 )反向能量转移的结果。结果表明Yb3 敏化Tm3 掺杂氧卤碲酸盐玻璃是一种上转换蓝光激光器的潜在基质材料。  相似文献
