In China, polymer radiation processing has become one of the most important processing industries. The radiation processing source may be an electron beam accelerator or a radioactive source. Physical design of an electron beam facility applied for radiation crosslinking is introduced in this paper because of it’s much higher dose rate and efficiency. Main part of this facility is a 10 MeV travelling wave electron linac with constant impedance accelerating structure. A start to end simulation concerning the linac is reported in this paper. The codes Opera-3d, Poisson-superfish and Parmela are used to describe electromagnetic elements of the accelerator and track particle distribution from the cathode to the end of the linac. After beam dynamic optimization, wave phase velocities in the structure have been chosen to be 0.56, 0.9 and 0.999 respectively. Physical parameters about the main elements such as DC electron gun, iris-loaded periodic structure, solenoids, etc, are presented. Simulation results proves that it can satisfy the industrial requirement. The linac is under construction. Some components have been finished. Measurements proved that they are in a good agreement with the design values.  相似文献

The TAC(Turkish Accelerator Center) project aims to build an accelerator center in Turkey. The first stage of the project is to construct an Infra-Red Free Electron Laser(IR-FEL) facility. The second stage is to build a synchrotron radiation facility named TURKAY, which is a third generation synchrotron radiation light source that aims to achieve a high brilliance photon beam from a low emittance electron beam at 3 Ge V. The electron beam parameters are highly dependent on the magnetic lattice of the storage ring. In this paper a low emittance storage ring for TURKAY is proposed and the beam dynamic properties of the magnetic lattice are investigated.  相似文献

The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is an accelerator-based facility. The accelerator of CSNS consists of a low energy linac, a Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) and two beam transport lines. The overall physics design of CSNS accelerator is described, including the design principle, the choice of the main parameters and design of each part of accelerators. The key problems of the physics design, such as beam loss and control, are also discussed. 北京自由电子激光装置(BFEL)是一台工作在中红外区的康普顿型FEL振荡器。由一台30MeV的射频电子直线加速器提供电子束。特点之一是用微波电子枪作为高亮度注入器。本文首先概述了BFEL的一般情形和物理参数.接着用解析公式和模拟的方法论证了电子束的设计目标和激光器的运转特征。最后阐述了BFEL各部分采取的技术路线的特点,内容包括微波枪、加速器和微波系统、调制器、输运系统、摇摆磁铁、光学腔、电子束诊断、准直、自发辐射和激光实验。  相似文献

IHEP, China is constructing a 100 MeV/100 kW electron Linac for NSC KIPT, Ukraine. This linac will be used as the driver of a neutron source based on a subcritical assembly. In 2012, the injector part of the accelerator was pre-installed as a testing facility in the experimental hall ≠2 of IHEP. The injector beam and key hardware testing results met the design goal. Recently, the injector testing facility was disassembled and all of the components for the whole accelerator have been shipped to Ukraine from China by the ocean shipping. The installation of the whole machine in KIPT will be started in June, 2013. The construction progress, the design and testing results of the injector beam and key hardware are presented.  相似文献

The intensity of proton accelerator has attained to the order to mega-watt, and several MW-class proton accelerators start to operate in the world. J-PARC is a complex of three accelerators, and generates a variety of secondary beams, i.e. muon beam, neutron beam, meson beam and neutrino beam. The muon facility is established in order to provide a pulsed muon beam for various experimental programs. The first muon beam is transported to the experimental area in September 2008. Although the accelerator is still under commissioning, and the beam power doesn’t reach the design value of 1 MW yet, the world strongest pulsed muon beam will be provided shortly. In this paper, we review the muon beam line in J-PARC, and discuss evolved scientific programs.  相似文献

The paper presents an overview of the applications of recombination chambers for dosimetric measurements at radiotherapy facilities. The chambers were used at electron, proton and heavy ion accelerators, in the beam and in the vicinity of the accelerators at very different dose rates. The examples of measurements discussed in the paper include: the determination of the absorbed dose and radiation quality parameters of a 170 MeV proton beam and BNCT (boron neutron capture therapy) beam, neutron dose measurements at a phantom surface outside the beam of a 15 MV electron medical accelerator, determination of ambient dose equivalent, H1 (10) outside the irradiated phantom in the proton therapy treatment room at JINR (Dubna, Russia), and at working places outside the shielding of the heavy ion therapy facility at GSI (Darmstadt, Germany).  相似文献

In order to easily measure the beam spot size of high energy electron accelerators with internal target enclosed,a real–time system, based on thick pinhole imaging technique, is employed. The experimental result on a 15MeV electron linear accelerator is also presented. In this paper the principle of thick pinhole imaging and the processing of data are introduced. The usual "sandwich" method needs to develop X-ray films, while debugging the accelerator parameters it will take a lot of time. On the contrary, X–ray pinhole imaging method can make a real–time measuring: as the accelerator parameters change, we can observe the beam profile's variation on the computer screen. Then when debugging we can have a definite object in view, and adjust the accelerator parameters more efficiently.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the results of transverse beam emittance and twiss parameter measurement of an electron beam, delivered by a 20 MeV microtron which is used as a pre-injector system for a booster synchrotron in the Indus Accelerator Facility at RRCAT Indore. Based on these measured beam parameters, beam optics of a transport line was optimized and its results are also discussed in this paper. This beam transport line is used to transport the electron beam from the 20 MeV microtron to the booster synchrotron. The booster synchrotron works as a main injector for Indus-1 and Indus-2 synchrotron radiation facilities. To optimize the beam optics of a transport line for proper beam transmission through the line as well as to match the beam twiss parameters at the beam injection point of another accelerator, it is necessary to know the transverse beam emittance and twiss parameters of the beam coming from the first one. A MATLAB-based GUI program has been developed to calculate the beam emittance and twiss parameters, using quadrupole scan method. The measured parameters have been used for beam transport line optimization and twiss parameters matching at booster injection point. After this optimization, an enhancement of ~50% beam current has been observed in the booster synchrotron.  相似文献

The dependence of the initial electron-beam parameters on absorbed dose distributions have been investigated using a CyberKnife radiotherapy accelerator (Accuray, United States). To describe the initial electron-beam characteristics, simulations of the linear electron accelerator are performed and the electron distributions in the beam of a linac output are analyzed. The radial distributions of electrons are assumed exponential, whereas the energy electron distributions are approximated by monoenergetic and rectangular spectra. There is no significant dependence of depth-dose curves in a phantom on the shape of the electron beam. Importantly, a clear dependence of the radiation field profile on the size of the electron beam is observed not just in the penumbra region, but also in the open part.  相似文献

上海交通大学的超快电子衍射(UED)装置由一台电子直线加速器作为驱动,电子枪为一台光阴极微波电子枪。加速器在运行中电子枪会偶尔打火,腔体失谐,造成束流损失,束流能量产生变化,束流需要很长时间才能恢复到初始状态,影响了用户的使用。为此,对低电平控制器(LLRF)的幅度相位控制环路进行了改进,增加了能量反馈,代替了幅度反馈,通过对束流的中心位置进行实时的反馈以控制低电平控制器输出信号的幅度,保证了电子束流的能量稳定和电子枪加速场强的稳定。长时间的稳定性测试表明,电子枪在打火产生时,束流能量可以很快恢复,能量抖动由4.2933×10^-4(RMS)提高到2.8557×10^-4(RMS),实现了束流能量的长期稳定。  相似文献

 研究了固定式海关集装箱检测系统用9MeV电子行波直线加速器电子枪的结构特点和束流特性。该电子枪采用钪酸盐阴极,在灯丝电流为2.4A,阳极引出电压为-40kV的工作条件下,由电子枪发射到加速器入口处的脉冲电流强度为300mA,在加速器出口处,束斑截面小于φ2mm;打靶后,产生的X射线剂量率大于30cGy/(min× m)。电子枪的良好特性及束流强度保证了集装箱检测图像所需的高分辨率的要求。为保证满足更换电子枪时的安装要求,利用EGUN程序模拟计算了电子枪的结构及束流特性,为实际装配和使用提供了参考尺寸和调试参数。  相似文献

One kind of instantaneous electron beam emittance measurement system based on the optical transition radiation principle and double imaging optical method has been set up. It is mainly adopted in the test for the intense electron-beam produced by a linear induction accelerator. The system features two characteristics. The first one concerns the system synchronization signal triggered by the following edge of the main output waveform from a Blumlein switch. The synchronous precision of about 1 ns between the electron beam and the image capture time can be reached in this way so that the electron beam emittance at the desired time point can be obtained. The other advantage of the system is the ability to obtain the beam spot and beam divergence in one measurement so that the calculated result is the true beam emittance at that time, which can explain the electron beam condition. It provides to be a powerful beam diagnostic method for a 2.5 kA, 18.5 MeV, 90 ns (FWHM) electron beam pulse produced by Dragon I. The ability of the instantaneous measurement is about 3 ns and it can measure the beam emittance at any time point during one beam pulse. A series of beam emittances have been obtained for Dragon I. The typical beam spot is 9.0 mm (FWHM) in diameter and the corresponding beam divergence is about 10.5 mrad.  相似文献

The general scheme and current status of an electron linear accelerator with an S-band travelling wave (f = 2856 MHz) accelerating structure—a driver for a pulsed neutron source (the Intense Resonance Neutron source (IREN)) at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research—are presented. The parameters of the accelerating system and the measured parameters of the electron beam—pulse-beam current, duration of the current pulse, repetition rate, electron-energy spectrum, and loading characteristics of the accelerating structure—are given. The beginning of the implementation of the project of the second stage of the IREN facility, which forms the basis for the development of the accelerator aimed at increasing its beam power, is reported. Technical solutions underlying the modernization of the accelerator’s electrophysical systems are discussed: accelerating system, RF power supplies, and modulators.  相似文献

The electron-optical system (EOS) of an induction accelerator for generation of an electron beam with an energy of 2 MeV, a current of 2 kA, an impulse duration of 2 × 10?7 s, and a geometric output emittance not exceeding the thermal value of it is described. The EOS consists of two parts. The first part is a diode gun with a perveance of 2 × 10?6 A/B3/2 and a cathode-anode voltage of 1 MeV. The second part is an accelerating tube with uniform distribution of the same accelerating voltage. A beam is transported at a distance of about 4 m from the cathode and focused on a spot with a diameter of about 1 mm. The compliance tests results of the linear-induction accelerator precisely conform to the calculated design parameters.  相似文献

The project of the Low Energy Particle Toroidal Accumulator (LEPTA) is dedicated to the construction of a positron storage ring with electron cooling of positrons circulating in the ring. Such a specific feature of LEPTA automatically enables it to be a generator of positronium (Ps) atoms, which appear in the recombination of positrons with cooling electrons inside the cooling section of the ring. The project has the following goals: particle dynamics in the modified betatron, electron cooling with a circulating beam, positronium generation in flight, positronium physics, and feasibility of antihydrogen generation in flight. All key elements of the ring—the kicker, electron beam injection system, helical quadrupole, septum magnet—have been tested, and the expected design parameters have been achieved for these elements. The construction of LEPTA has been completed, and the circulating electron beam has been achieved. This paper discusses the issues of particle dynamics in such an accelerator, the results of numerical simulation and experimental findings of the research into beam dynamics, measurement of betatron number and beam lifetime.  相似文献

 “神龙一号”强流脉冲加速器由72个直线感应加速腔和18个用于测试和真空泵接口的多功能腔组成。直线感应加速器的研制建造中磁轴对中偏差和聚焦磁场的自然偏差所引起的束流质心偏移轨道中心是不可避免的,由于束脉冲期间存在能散,使束流产生Corkscrew运动,导致束流品质变坏。而束脉冲期间的能散只能减小到一定水平,因此必需采取一定的措施抑制Corkscrew幅度的增长。在加速器的安装阶段,脉冲悬丝技术被应用于准直加速段聚焦磁场,并在磁轴准直测试的同时对磁场固有倾斜偏差进行初步校正。根据脉冲悬丝测试所得实验数据,采用传输矩阵法对加速段束质心轨迹进行了初步估计,计算中考虑了各加速腔聚焦磁场的倾斜和偏移误差。给出了计算结果和分析。  相似文献
