ON THE REGULARITY UP TO THE BOUNDARY OF SOLUTIONS OF ELLIPTIC BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS

Abstract

We consider the regularity up to the boundary of solutions of those elliptic boundary value problems that can be treated by the non-variational theory developed by Schechter and others. The usual method of differential quotients is replaced by a method of Schappel [5] which is based on the properties of a Laplace-type operator 1-?2. In this paper the results of Schappel, which are given for boundary value problems in variational form, are extended to the non-variational case. We make important use of fractional order Sobolev spaces on the boundary and trace theorems.

EXISTENCE AND NONEXISTENCE OF POSITIVE SOLUTIONS TO A THREE-POINT BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM

In this paper, we are concerned with the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions to a three-point boundary value problems. By Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem in Banach space, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence and non-existence of positive solutions to the above three-point boundary value problems.     

NUMERICAL VERIFICATION METHODS FOR SOLUTIONS OF ORDINARY AND PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

In this article, we describe on a state of the art of validated numerical computations for solutions of differential equations. A brief overview of the main techniques for self-validating numerics for initial and boundary value problems in ordinary and partial differential equations including eigenvalue problems will be presented. A fairly detailed introductions are given for the author's own method related to second-order elliptic boundary value problems. Many references which seem to be useful for readers are supplied at the end of the article.

The singularly perturbed boundary value prodlems for the semilinear elliptic equation of higher order are considered . Under suitable conditions and by using the fixed point theorem the existence, uniqueness and asymp- totic behavior of solution for the boundary value problems are studied.

本文利用Ｂｏｌｚａｎｏ定理，给出了四阶非线性常微微分方程具有非线性边界条件的两点边值问题（１）（２）２，（１）（２）３存在解与存在唯一解的一般性结果，并将所得结果应用于Ｌｉｐｓｃｈｉｚ方程，对Ｌｉｐｓｃｈｉｔｚ方程满足边界条件（２）２，（２）３的边值问题给出了存在解与存在唯一解的具体的充分条件。

A CLASS OF NONLINEAR SINGULARLY PERTURBED PROBLEMS FOR REACTION DIFFUSION EQUATIONS

A class of nonlinear singularly perturbed problems for reaction diffusion equa-tions are considered. Under suitable conditions, by using the theory of differential inequal-ities, the asymptotic behavior of solutions for the initial boundary value problems arestudied, reduced problems of which possess two intersecting solutions.     

Adjoint and self-adjoint boundary value problems on a geometric graph

We consider boundary value problems of arbitrary order for linear differential equations on a geometric graph. Solutions of boundary value problems are coordinated at the interior vertices of the graph and satisfy given conditions at the boundary vertices. For considered boundary value problems, we construct adjoint boundary value problems and obtain a self-adjointness criterion. We describe the structure of the solution set of homogeneous self-adjoint boundary value problems with alternating coefficients of a differential equation and obtain nondegeneracy conditions for these boundary value problems.
