In this paper, a three dimensional autonomous system which is similar to the Lorenz system is considered. By choosing an appropriate bifurcation parameter, we prove that a Hopf bifurcation occurs in this system when the bifurcation parameter exceeds a critical value. A formula for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions is presented by applying the normal form theory. Finally, an example is given and numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the obtained results.  相似文献

A kind of three-species system with Holling II functional response and two delays is introduced. Its local stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are demonstrated by analyzing the associated characteristic equation. By using the normal form method and center manifold theorem, explicit formulas to determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solution are also obtained. In addition, the global existence results of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are established by using a global Hopf bifurcation result. Numerical simulation results are also given to support our theoretical predictions.  相似文献

A simple neural network model with discrete time delay is investigated. The linear stability of this model is discussed by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. For the case with inhibitory influence from the past state, it is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when this influence varies and passes through a sequence of critical values. The stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and the direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Chaotic behavior of a single delayed neuron equation with non-monotonously increasing transfer function has been observed in computer simulation. Some waveform diagrams, phase portraits, power spectra and plots of the largest Lyapunov exponent will also be given.  相似文献

In this paper, the van der Pol equation with a time delay is considered, where the time delay is regarded as a parameter. It is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when this delay passes through a sequence of critical value. A formula for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions is given by using the normal form method and center manifold theorem.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a predator–prey model with herd behavior and prey‐taxis subject to the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. First, by analyzing the characteristic equation, the local stability of the positive equilibrium is discussed. Then, choosing prey‐tactic sensitivity coefficient as the bifurcation parameter, we obtain a branch of nonconstant solutions bifurcating from the positive equilibrium by an abstract bifurcation theory, and find the stable bifurcating solutions near the bifurcation point under suitable conditions. We have shown that prey‐taxis can destabilize the uniform equilibrium and yields the occurrence of spatial patterns. Furthermore, some numerical simulations to illustrate the theoretical analysis are also carried out, Turing patterns such as spots pattern, spots–strip pattern, strip pattern, stable nonconstant steady‐state solutions, and spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions are obtained, which also expand our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, Hopf bifurcation for two-species Lotka–Volterra competition systems with delay dependence is investigated. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that the system is stable over a range of the delay and beyond that it is unstable in the limit cycle form, i.e., there are periodic solutions bifurcating out from the positive equilibrium. Our results show that a stable competition system can be destabilized by the introduction of a maturation delay parameter. Further, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived by using the theory of normal forms and center manifolds, and numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we extend the computation of the properties of Hopf bifurcation, such as the direction of bifurcation and stability of bifurcating periodic solutions, of DDE introduced by Kazarinoff et al. [N.D. Kazarinoff, P. van den Driessche, Y.H. Wan, Hopf bifurcation and stability of periodic solutions of differential–difference and integro-differential equations, J. Inst. Math. Appl. 21 (1978) 461–477] to a kind of neutral functional differential equation (NFDE). As an example, a neutral delay logistic differential equation is considered, and the explicit formulas for determining the direction of bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are derived. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out to support the analytic results.  相似文献

We consider the computation of Hopf bifurcation for ordinary differential equations. Two new extended systems are given for the calculation of Hopf bifurcation problems: the first is composed of differential-algebraic equations with index 1, the other consists of differential equations by using a symmetry inherited from the autonomous system of ordinary differential equations. Both methods are especially suitable for calculating bifurcating periodic solutions since they transform the Hopf bifurcation problem into regular nonlinear boundary value problems which are very easy to implement. The bifurcation solutions become isolated solutions of the extended system so that our methods work both in the subcritical and supercritical case. The extended systems are based on an additional parameter ε; practical experience shows that one gets convergence for ε sufficiently large so that a substantial part of the bifurcating branch can be computed. The two methods are illustrated by numerical examples and compared with other procedures.  相似文献

In this paper, a four-neuron BAM neural network with distributed delays is considered, where kernels are chosen as weak kernels. Its dynamics is studied in terms of local stability analysis and Hopf bifurcation analysis. By choosing the average delay as a bifurcation parameter and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, Hopf bifurcation occurs when the bifurcation parameter passes through some exceptive values. The stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and a formula for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. A Cohen-Grossberg neural network with discrete delays is investigated in this paper. The qualitative analysis is given for the system and it is found that the system undergoes a sequence of Hopf bifurcations by choosing the discrete time delay as a bifurcation parameter. Moreover, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem, the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are obtained. In this paper, an age‐structured population model with the form of neutral functional differential equation is studied. We discuss the stability of the positive equilibrium by analyzing the characteristic equation. Local Hopf bifurcation results are also obtained by choosing the mature delay as bifurcation parameter. On the center manifold, the normal form of the Hopf bifurcation is derived, and explicit formulae for determining the criticality of bifurcation are theoretically given. Moreover, the global continuation of Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is investigated by using the global Hopf bifurcation theory of neutral equations. In this paper, a class of delayed predator-prey model of prey dispersal in two-patch environments is considered. By analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation, its linear stability is investigated and Hopf bifurcation is demonstrated. Some explicit formulae determining the stability and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained by using the normal form theory and center manifold theory. This paper is concerned with the existence and stability of steady states for a prey-predator system with cross diffusion of quasilineax fractional type. We obtain a sufficient condition for the existence of positive steady state solutions by applying bifurcation theory and a detailed priori estimate. In this paper we give a detailed Hopf bifurcation analysis of a ratio-dependent predator–prey system involving two different discrete delays. By analyzing the characteristic equation associated with the model, its linear stability is investigated. Choosing delay terms as bifurcation parameters the existence of Hopf bifurcations is demonstrated. Stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is determined by using the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory introduced by Hassard et al. Furthermore, some of the bifurcation properties including direction, stability and period are given. Finally, theoretical results are supported by some numerical simulations.  相似文献

本文研究一类含两相异时滞的捕食-被捕食系统的稳定性及分歧。首先,我们讨论两相异时滞对系统唯一正平衡点的稳定性的影响,通过对系数与时滞有关的特征方程的分析,建立了一种稳定性判别性。其次,将一个时滞看成分歧参数,而另一个看作固定参数,我们证明了该系统具有HOPF分歧特性。最后,我们讨论了分歧解的稳定性。  相似文献
