We give a characterization of totally η-umbilical real hypersurfaces and ruled real hypersurfaces of a complex space form in terms of totally umbilical condition for the holomorphic distribution on real hypersurfaces. We prove that if the shape operator A of a real hypersurface M of a complex space form M ⁿ (c), c ≠ 0, n ⩾ 3, satisfies g(AX, Y) = ag(X, Y) for any X, Y ∈ T ₀(x), a being a function, where T ₀ is the holomorphic distribution on M, then M is a totally η-umbilical real hypersurface or locally congruent to a ruled real hypersurface. This condition for the shape operator is a generalization of the notion of η-umbilical real hypersurfaces.     

Parallel and semi-parallel hypersurfaces of \mathbb{S}^n × ℝ

We give a complete classification of totally umbilical, parallel and semi-parallel hypersurfaces of the Riemannian product space × ℝ. The author is a postdoctoral researcher supported by the Research Foundation — Flanders (F.W.O.).

On Ruled Real Hypersurfaces in Complex Space Forms

Ruled real hypersurfaces of complex space forms are investigated by using the fact that such hypersurfaces can be constructed by moving a 1-codimensional complex totally geodesic submanifold of the ambient space along a curve. Among other results, a classification of minimal ruled real hypersurfaces and an example of a homogeneous ruled real hypersurface are given.

Real Hypersurfaces in Quaternionic Space Forms Satyisfying Axioms of Planes

A Riemannian manifold satisfies the axiom of 2-planes if at each point, there are suficiently many totally geodesic surfaces passing through that point. Real hypersurfaces in quaternionic space forms admit nice families of tangent planes, namely, totally real, half-quaternionic and quaternionic. Several definitions of axiom of planes arise naturally when we consider such families of tangent planes. We are able to classify real hypersurfaces in quaternionic space forms satisfying these definitions.     

Real hypersurfaces of with non-negative Ricci curvature

We prove the non-existence of Levi flat compact real hypersurfaces without boundary in , with non-negative totally real Ricci curvature.
