Over the last century, the conventional and linear production system has significantly influenced the socio-environment globally. The transition to a more circular production system, aiming at maintaining the value of products and resources for as long as possible, is an opportunity to create innovative processes that are regenerative by intention. This means replacing the end-of-life concept with restoration, renewable energy use and by- or co-products as well as eliminating toxic chemicals by developing and using redesigned materials, procedures and business models. In this context, the main objective of this paper is to present a critical overview related to the most recent green and sustainable extraction or separation approaches to remove organic molecules from plant-derived resources, specifically agro-industrial and forestry waste using circular processing systems in operation in the last four years.  相似文献

Enzyme-based biocatalysis is emerging as an advanced technique to develop green processes that help to maintain the sustainability of the environment. The bioremediation of toxic organic pollutants and waste to bioenergy production using enzymes as biocatalysts is rapidly growing due to its eco-friendly and sustainable nature. Additionally, a range of microbial species that typically grow on organic wastes can be used to produce these enzymes in an efficient manner. This is seen as a potential strategy for the development of cost-effective manufacturing for a number of biotechnological applications. The present study discusses biocatalysis as a promising and sustainable method toward the bioremediation of hazardous organic pollutants as well as for bioenergy production, based on the immense potential of enzymes as biocatalysts. Emphasis has been placed on evaluating the critical elements that can enhance the production of enzymes used as biocatalysts, as well as their functional effectiveness and stability.  相似文献

The synthesis of extended benzodifuran–furan systems are described as an example of π-conjugated materials prepared by following a green approach with only water being produced as waste and using furan derivatives from renewable sources. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that is used to treat cardiac diseases such as angina and high blood pressure. Several column and planar chromatographic methods for estimating cilnidipine in pharmaceutical dosage forms have been documented. However, these method developments have been carried out employing organic solvents such as acetonitrile, methanol, toluene, chloroform, and others as mobile phase components or as sample pretreatment diluents. These organic solvents are neurotoxic and teratogenic to humans and aquatic animals, according to International Council for Harmonization Q3C (R8) recommendations. According to the green analytical chemistry approach, such organic solvents should be reduced or removed during the development of chromatographic methods for environmental protection and the safety of human and aquatic animal life. As a result, the stability-indicating chromatographic estimation of cilnidipine was performed utilizing less toxic organic solvents. To prevent organic solvent waste during method development, mobile-phase optimization was performed using the design of experiment-based response surface modeling. Cilnidipine has been subjected to hydrolysis, oxidation, photolysis, and dry-heat decomposition to determine its stability. The greenness profiles of the suggested and published chromatographic methods were examined using the national environment method index, analytical greenness calculator, green analytical procedure index software, and eco-scale assessment tool.  相似文献

Polyoxomolybdates, an important branch in polyoxometalates chemistry, present complicated solution chemistry and unmatched physicochemical properties, which endows us with both great opportunities and considerable challenges in creating new functional materials. This perspective highlights the recent development on the coordination assembly of transition-metal-substituted heteropolymolybdates by using labile lacunary heteropolymolybdates as inorganic multidentate ligands. A series of strategies have been used to stabilize the lacunary heteropolymolybdate building blocks. Finally, we introduce some researches on the modification of polymolybdates by organic groups in aqueous media, which may shed light on the green chemistry of the functionalization of polyoxomolybdates.  相似文献
