基于压电陶瓷的光相位调制器的调制系数测量及验证   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
实现了一种快速简单有效的测量基于压电陶瓷(PZT)的光相位调制器相位调制系数的方法。利用光纤马赫-曾德尔(M-Z)干涉仪输出光强度与两臂相位差的函数关系,通过3×3解调算法可以计算基于PZT的光相位调制器的相位调制系数。实验中在M-Z干涉仪另一臂加上一个基于PZT的相位调制器以减小系统噪声的影响,并在相位生成载波(PGC)解调实验中作为干扰源。最后通过PGC解调方案解调出了3×3耦合器的第一路输出信号中的干扰信号,实验验证了所测量的结果,表明该方法是行之有效的。  相似文献

基于速率方程建立了线性光放大器(LOA)的数值模型,模拟了线性光放大器的增益钳制特性。与对称结构马赫曾德尔干涉仪(MZI)的传输矩阵相结合,构建了线性光放大器马赫曾德尔干涉仪全光逻辑异或门模型,实现了两路40Gbit/s信号的异或运算。与传统的半导体光放大器(SOA)构成的马赫曾德尔干涉仪型异或门进行了比较,从器件结构上对两种异或门运算结果的差异给出了解释。结果表明,线性光放大器具有平坦的增益特性,对输入信号的扰动具有不敏感性,垂直光场缩短了载流子恢复时间;线性光放大器马赫曾德尔干涉仪结构可以实现异或运算;利用差分相位法可以解决载流子恢复时间对信号处理速度的限制,合理地选择延迟时间能获得较好的运算结果;输出信号具有眼图张开度大、消光比高、峰值啁啾小、对波长变化不敏感等优点。  相似文献

设计了一种低开关功率的全光开关.将掺铒光纤和微结构光纤引入Sagnac环镜中,信号光在泵浦光作用下经过掺铒光纤被放大,破坏了环镜的平衡,利用交叉相位调制效应使两束反向传输的信号光产生非线性相移,实现了光开关效应.理论分析表明:信号光经过掺铒光纤后,增益越大微结构光纤的非线性系数越高,开关功率越低,并且环镜信号光的透射率随两束反向传输信号光的相移差成余弦变化.仿真得到开关功率约为26.73 mW,与理论分析一致.  相似文献

设计了一种新颖的、低开关功率的全光开关. 将高非线性光子晶体光纤和双向抽运掺饵光纤放大器引入Sagnac环形镜内,破坏了环形镜的对称性,利用交叉相位调制作用使反向传输的两路信号光产生非线性相移,从而实现开关效应. 理论分析表明:开关功率与放大器的增益倍数和光子晶体光纤非线性系数的积成反比,在实验中所得开关功率约40 mW,消光比约为15.9 dB,并且信号光透过率随脉冲控制光峰值功率呈余弦变化,实验结果与理论分析相吻合. 关键词: 全光开关 高非线性光子晶体光纤 环形镜 交叉相位调制  相似文献

针对光纤通信中密集波分复用系统各信道的在线平坦光放大这一光通信问题,提出利用级联高非线性光纤来设计增益平坦的拉曼光纤放大器。对高非线性光纤(As S光纤)拉曼增益谱前后沿进行线性拟合处理,利用不同波长泵浦抽运同种光纤,实现前放大后增益补偿,并考虑信号光损耗不同,在输出端得到了一个近似固定的功率输出值,并分析了影响拉曼光纤放大器输出特性的因素。模拟结果表明:平均增益为20.45 dB,增益平坦度为0.15 dB。  相似文献

报道了由两个N×N三维多模干涉耦合器和一段阵列相移波导组成的三维光开关.首先利用导模传输法分析了三维多模干涉耦合器的一般成像原理,并推导出了其成像位置以及相位矩阵.在此基础上,通过场传输矩阵法建立了光开关的传输方程.利用该传输方程计算得到了光开关工作时,阵列相移波导的相位条件,并通过三维有限差分光束传输法进行仿真验证,给出了光开关工作时的插损、串扰指标,以及光开关输出功率随相移波导相位变化的关系.  相似文献

The performances of a dual-pump parametric and Raman amplification process and the wavelength conversion in silicon waveguides are investigated. By setting the Raman contribution fraction f to be 0.043 in our analytical model, the amplification gain of the probe signal can be obtained to be over 10 dB. The pump transfer noise (PTN), the quantum noise (QN), and the total noise figure (TNF) are discussed, and the TNF has a constant value of about 4 dB in the gain bandwidth. An idler signal generated during the parametric amplification (PA) process can be used to realize the wavelength conversion in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems. In addition, the pump signal parameters, the generated free carrier lifetime and effective mode area (EMA) of the waveguide are analysed for the optimization of signal gain and noise characteristics.  相似文献

We propose an all-optical switching scheme based on Raman gain in a silicon nanowaveguide suitable for multichannel optical communication. Raman gain is used for amplification of a control pulse with a higher wavelength, which depletes the tuned channel signal. Separation between control and signal pulses should be equal to the Raman shift in silicon. By employing a 3 mm channel nanowaveguide, we demonstrate a channel attenuation of about 12 dB, while the suppression ratios for the first and second neighboring channels are about 1.6 dB and 1 dB, respectively. This scheme can be used as an all-optical switch in dense wavelength division multiplexing networks. Moreover, we demonstrate that the depleted channel can be retrieved by a control pulse with lower wavelength in which the pulse amplifies the channel in contrast to the prior situation.  相似文献

本文提出了一种新型的多波长全光再生方案,利用相位时钟光纤光参量放大,并采用相邻信道偏振正交的方法,实现对由异步信源产生的双波长信号全光再生.理论分析了参量放大中的增益饱和现象用于幅度噪声抑制,以及利用相位时钟及后续色散实现对信号定时的机理.在这个基础上,对两个独立信源产生的异步双波长10Gbit/s信号进行再生实验,实验表明该方案有效的抑制了基于多波长3R再生系统中信道间的四波混频与交叉相位调制等非线性干扰.系统在单波长和双波长情况下分别将两路信号信噪比改善了至少6.5dB与4.5dB.误码率测试结果说明,与背对背测试结果相比,无论是在单波长还是双波长条件下,两路波长的信号经过再生后都实现了约2dB的接收机功率代价的改善.  相似文献

自相位调制可用于信号脉冲的整形,可实现归零码(RZ)信号的再生。以高非线性光纤(HNLF)为介质,在高非线性光纤中实现了拉曼集总放大和信号脉冲的自相位调制。从理论上分析了同向拉曼泵浦增强信号的自相位调制,大大降低了所需的信号光强度。论证了在色散长度(LD)远大于HNLF长度(L)时由自相位调制(SPM)导致的频谱展宽,它与脉冲的啁啾无关,频谱的功率密度与脉冲的强度无关。因此在高非线性光纤之后加入偏移载波频率的带通滤波器可实现归零码信号的再生。集中拉曼放大可增强再生性能。  相似文献

In this paper, the analytical investigations for the crosstalk in fiber amplification for WDM channels have been reported. The crosstalk between WDM channels with external Raman amplification including second-order dispersion terms has been investigated. It has been shown that the higher-order dispersion severely degrades the performance of optical communication systems. To ensure small crosstalk, the signal gain and the injected pump power should be limited to the value well below the threshold of Raman amplification. Analytical formula for signal interference ratio (SIR) and gain in fiber Raman amplifier including the impact of second-order dispersion terms for WDM systems has been derived at different wavelengths. It has also been shown that there is increase in crosstalk due to second-order dispersion.  相似文献

This paper reviews recent theoretical and experimental studies on optical amplification by stimulated Raman scattering (Raman amplification) in single-mode optical fibres, and discusses its possible applications to long-distance optical communications. The fibre Raman amplifier can be used as an in-line optical amplifier in both repeaterless and non-regenerative all-optical repeater configurations. In the former application, signal transmission of over 400 km has been predicted theoretically, although high-power pump sources are considered to be required. In the latter configuration, in which optical fibre losses are compensated for by Raman gains, it has been shown that extremely long-distance transmission over more than 1000 km is feasible in terms of signal-to-noise ratio, where the distance achievable is mainly limited by the accumulation of Raman noise. Recent experimental demonstrations including bit-error rate measurements on the Raman amplified signal, and laser-diode pumped amplification, etc., are also reviewed. The results confirm the effectiveness of fibre Raman amplifiers in future long-haul systems.  相似文献

This article describes the performance and capabilities of an all-optical network featuring low latency, high speed file transfer between serially connected optical nodes. A basic component of the network is a network interface card (NIC) implemented through a unique planar lightwave circuit (PLC) that performs add/drop data and optical signal amplification. The network uses a linear bus topology with nodes in a “T” configuration, as described in the text. The signal is sent optically (hence, no latency) to all nodes via wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), with each node receiver tuned to wavelength of choice via an optical de-multiplexer. Each “T” node routes a portion of the signal to/from the bus through optical couplers, embedded in the network interface card (NIC), to each of the 1 through n computers.  相似文献

The effect of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in fiber optic communications is considered. On one hand, SRS limits the launch power in a multiple-channel communication system; while on the other hand, SRS can provide optical amplification in the 1.3-μm and 1.55-μm windows. In most of the previous work these issues have been treated separately by using different assumptions. A solution is usually obtained by solving differential equations. We present a numerical method that involves the simultaneous solution of integral equations describing SRS in optical fiber. The method is general enough to be applicable for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), optic frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), and optical amplification. However, it is efficient and simple to program and uses just a few realistic assumptions. A WDM communication system with 10 optical channels in the 1.55-μm window is studied by using this method, The data rate is above 1 Gbps. The system parameters are such that the other nonlinear effects, such as stimulated Brillouin scattering and four-wave mixing, are less significant for the system. Launch power limitations imposed by SRS are investigated for IM / DD and coherent systems. The receiver dynamic range over the wavelengths of interest is an important factor in determining the launch power limitations. An optical amplifier in the 1.3-μm window is also analyzed. The two-pump technique is investigated. With pump power levels of about 500 mw 0-dB gain can be achieved for a 30-km repeaterless link. Finally, the calculated results agree with the experiments.  相似文献

介绍了分布式光纤拉曼温度传感器(DTS)的基本原理、发展趋势和工程应用研究状况,研究了分布式光纤拉曼温度传感器的关键技术,全面提升了DTS的性能。将拉曼放大技术应用于DTS系统,用拉曼增益部分抵偿光纤的传输损耗,使系统的传感长度达到50 km;对脉冲激光器进行211位循环编码,在接收时采用相关运算解调,显著提高系统的信噪比,使测温不确定度达到1 ℃;采用双波长自校正技术提高了系统的空间分辨率,达到2 m;在DTS系统中嵌入光开关,使测温通道成倍扩展,有效延伸了传感光纤的总长度,组成光纤传感网络。  相似文献

The authors present theoretical results of an analysis of an all-optical gain-clamped (AOGC) praseodymium-doped fluoride fiber amplifier (PDFFA) for protecting surviving channels in an amplified wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) network with six cascaded PDFFAs. The theoretical analysis is based on application of a large-signal numerical model that takes into account propagation of pump, signal, and downstream and upstream amplified spontaneous emission and includes time variation effects in a four-level laser system. It is shown that power excursions caused in an eight-channel WDM network by loss addition of six channels could be lower than 1 dB and free of relaxation oscillations if the AOGC PDFFA is strongly inverted and the total loss of the ring resonator is appropriately set.  相似文献
