Polynomial functions (in particular, permutation polynomials) play an important role in the design of modern cryptosystem. In this note the problem of counting the number of polynomial functions over finite commutative rings is discussed. Let A be a general finite commutative local ring. Under a certain condition, the counting formula of the number of polynomial functions over A is obtained. Before this paper, some results over special finite commutative rings were obtained by many authors.  相似文献

We give necessary conditions for a map to be irreducible (in the category of finitely generated, torsion free modules) over a non-local, commutative ring and sufficient conditions when the ring is Bass. In particular, we show that an irreducible map of ZG, where G is a square free abelian group, must be a monomorphism with a simple cokernel. We also show that local endomorphism rings are necessary and sufficient for the existence of almost split sequences over a commutative Bass ring and we explicitly describe the modules and the maps in those sequences. The results in this paper enable us to describe the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a non-local Bass ring in [8].  相似文献

Abstract

Transcendental and algebraic elements over commutative rings are defined. Rings with zero nil radical are considered. For a transcendental over R, necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for elements of R[α] to be algebraic or transcendental over R. For R a ring with identity and a finite number of minimal prime ideals, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for any element in a unitary overring of R to be algebraic or transcendental over R. It is proved that if α is algebraic Over R, so is every element of R[α]. It is show that if R is Noetherian, β is algebraic over R[α] and α is algebraic over R, then, under certain conditions, β is algebraic over R. If R has a finite number of minimal prime ideals, P1,…,Pk, which are pairwise comaximal, then if t is transcendental over R, R[t] can be obtained by adjoining k algebraic elements ai over R to R whose defining polynomials are in Pi [x], and conversely, if such elements are adjoined to R, they generate an element transcendental over R.  相似文献

In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition for the homogeneous distance on an arbitrary finite commutative principal ideal ring to be a metric is obtained. We completely characterize the lower bound of homogeneous distances of matrix product codes over any finite principal ideal ring where the homogeneous distance is a metric. Furthermore, the minimum homogeneous distances of the duals of such codes are also explicitly investigated.  相似文献

A ring is called commutative transitive if commutativity is a transitive relation on its nonzero elements. Likewise, it is weakly commutative transitive (wCT) if commutativity is a transitive relation on its noncentral elements. The main topic of this paper is to describe the structure of finite wCT rings. It is shown that every such ring is a direct sum of an indecomposable noncommutative wCT ring of prime power order, and a commutative ring. Furthermore, finite indecomposable wCT rings are either two-by-two matrices over fields, local rings, or basic rings with two maximal ideals. We characterize finite local rings as generalized skew polynomial rings over coefficient Galois rings; the associated automorphisms of the Galois ring give rise to a signature of the local ring. These are then used to further describe the structure of finite local and wCT basic rings.  相似文献

This article concerns a ring property called pseudo-reduced-over-center that is satisfied by free algebras over commutative reduced rings.The properties of radicals of pseudo-reduced-over-center rings are investigated,especially related to polynomial rings.It is proved that for pseudo-reduced-over-center rings of nonzero characteristic,the centers and the pseudo-reduced-over-center property are preserved through factor rings modulo nil ideals.For a locally finite ring R,it is proved that if R is pseudo-reduced-over-center,then R is commutative and R/J(R) is a commutative regular ring with J(R) nil,where J(R) is the Jacobson radical of R.  相似文献

In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a matrix to have a (1,3)-inverse, (1,4)-inverse, or Moore-P enrose inverse, relative to *. The main theorem gives necessary and sufficient conditions for the rational group algebra QG to be without (nonzero) nilpotent elements if G is a nilpotent or F·C group. For finite groups G, a characterisation of group rings RG over a commutative ring with the same property is given. The present note determines the structure of the K2-group and of its subgroup over a finite commutative ring R by considering relations between R and finite commutative local ring Ri (1 < i < m), where R Ri and K2(R) = K2(Ri). Finite commutative semi-simple rings are direct sum of finite fields. In this study, we investigate the algebraic structure of λ-constacyclic codes over such finite semi-simple rings. Among others, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of self-dual, LCD, and Hermitian dual-containing λ-constacyclic codes over finite semi-simple rings are provided. Using the CSS and Hermitian constructions, quantum MDS codes over finite semi-simple rings are constructed.  相似文献

In this paper, as an analogue of the integer case, we define congruence preserving functions over the residue class rings of polynomials over finite fields. We establish a counting formula for such congruence preserving functions, determine a necessary and sufficient condition under which all congruence preserving functions are also polynomial functions, and characterize such functions.  相似文献
