The multisplitting iteration method was presented by O’Leary and White [5] for solving large sparse linear systems on parallel multiprocessor system. In this paper, we further set up an asynchronous variant for the multisplitting iteration method with different weighting schemes studied by White [8]. Moreover, we establish a general convergence criterion for asynchronous iteration framework, and then prove the convergence of the new asynchronous multisplitting iteration method with different weighting schemes by making use of this general criterion.  相似文献

This paper is motivated by the paper [3], where an iterative method for the computation of a matrix inverse square root was considered. We suggest a generalization of the method in [3]. We give some sufficient conditions for the convergence of this method, and its numerical stabillity property is investigated. We present a semilocal convergence theorem for Newton’s method (NM) on spaces with a convergence structure. Using our new idea of recurrent functions, we provide a tighter analysis, with weaker hypotheses than before and with the same computational cost as for Argyros (1996, 1997, 1997, 2007) [1], [2], [3] and [5], Meyer (1984, 1987, 1992) [13], [14] and [15]. In this paper, a fully discrete format of nonlinear Galerkin mixed element method with two-step discretization of time for the non stationary conduction-convection problems is presented. The existence and the convergence of the fully discrete mixed element solution are shown. Convergence is established for asynchronous parallel successive overrelaxation (SOR) algorithms for the symmetric linear complementarity problem. For the case of a strictly diagonally dominant matrix convergence is achieved for a relaxation factor interval of (0, 2] with line search, and (0, 1] without line search. Computational tests on the Sequent Symmetry S81 multiprocessor give speedup efficiency in the 43%–91% range for the cases for which convergence is established. The tests also show superiority of the asynchronous SOR algorithms over their synchronous counterparts.This material is based on research supported by National Science Foundation Grants DCR-8420963 and DCR-8521228 and Air Force Office of Scientific Research Grant AFOSR-86-0172.  相似文献

We provided in [14] and [15] a semilocal convergence analysis for Newton's method on a Banach space setting, by splitting the given operator. In this study, we improve the error bounds, order of convergence, and simplify the sufficient convergence conditions. Our results compare favorably with the Newton-Kantorovich theorem for solving equations.  相似文献
