Since ancient times, various herbs have been used in Asia, including Korea, China, and Japan, for wound healing and antiaging of the skin. In this study, we manufactured and chemically analyzed a novel distillate obtained from a fermented mixture of nine anti-inflammatory herbs (Angelica gigas, Lonicera japonica, Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz., D. opposita Thunb., Ulmus davidiana var. japonica, Hordeum vulgare var. hexastichon Aschers., Xanthium strumarium L., Cnidium officinale, and Houttuynia cordata Thunb.). The fermentation of natural plants possesses beneficial effects in living systems. These activities are attributed to the chemical conversion of the parent plants to functional constituents which show more potent biological activities. In our current study, the distillate has been manufactured after fermenting the nine oriental medical plants with Lactobacillus fermentum, followed by distilling. We analyzed the chemical ingredients involved in the distillate and evaluated the effects of topical application of the distillate on ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced skin damage in Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) mice. Topical application of the distillate significantly ameliorated the macroscopic and microscopic morphology of the dorsal skin against photodamage induced by UVB radiation. Additionally, our current results showed that topical application of the distillate alleviated collagen disruption and reduced levels of proinflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukin 1 β expressions) in the dorsal skin against UVB radiation. Taken together, our current findings suggest that the distillate has a potential to be used as a material to develop a photoprotective adjuvant.  相似文献

We developed a novel microfluidic cell culture device in which magnetic beads repetitively collide with osteoblast cells, MC3T3‐E1, owing to attractive forces generated by pulsed electromagnetic fields and consequently the cells were physically stimulated by bead impacts. Our device consists of an on‐chip microelectromagnet and a microfluidic channel which were fabricated by a microelectromechanical system technique. The impact forces and stresses acting on a cell were numerically analyzed and experimentally generated with different sizes of bead (4.5, 7.6 and 8.4 μm) and at various pulse frequencies (60 Hz, 1 kHz and 1 MHz). Cells were synchronized at each specific phase of the cell cycle before stimulation in order to determine the most susceptible phase against bead impacts. The cells were stimulated with different sizes of bead at various pulse frequencies for 1 min at G1, S and G2 phases, respectively, and then counted immediately after one doubling time. The growth rate of cells was highly accelerated when they were stimulated with 4.5 μm beads at G1 phase and a pulse frequency of 1 MHz. Almost all of the cells were viable after stimulation, indicating that our cell stimulator did not cause any cellular damage and is suitable for use in new physical stimulus modalities.  相似文献

Information of flow-induced vibration (FIV) in two-phase flow with wire coil inserts at atmospheric pressure, is presented in this study. FIV was measured in an upward vertical tube for four different wire coil inserts using an air–water mixture as process fluid. Vibration increased along with mass flux and quality. The narrower wire coils produced more vibration. The FIV prediction correlation for two-phase flow with wire coil inserts was experimentally developed with coefficient correlation value of 0.956.  相似文献

利用双辊制备了一系列热塑性弹性体聚氨酯(PU)和铁电钛酸锆酸铅盐(PZT)的电感应PZT/PU复合物。X-衍射和SE镜结果显示,复合物中,在铁电相中PZT陶瓷粉呈现结晶态并且均匀分布在PU基体中,复合物的弹性模量和相对电容率随着复合物中PZT体积分数增加而升高,在高压电场下,低PZT含量的复合物呈现负的电致伸缩应力,当PZT体积分数增加到6%以上时,在某个临界电场下,复合物呈现出电致伸缩应力反转的特性,即电致伸缩应力从负转变为正,并且发生应力反转的临界电场随着复合物中PZT体积分数的增加而降低,PU的电致伸缩特性与PZT在高电场下极化反转效应结合,导致了PZT/PU复合物这种有趣的性能,因此PZT/PU复合物将在高电压场方面作为传感器开关材料得到广泛应用。  相似文献

通过测定新生儿随意尿的钙来替代血钙的测定,并探讨其临床意义,用尿钙检测试剂盒对38例新生儿婴儿的尿钙进行了检测,结果表明,随意尿钙值可以反映血钙的水平,检测尿钙对诊断新生儿低钙血症有一定意义;对新生儿惊厥的鉴别诊断有一定的意义。  相似文献

In this paper, atmospheric pressure glow discharges (APGD) in argon generated in parallel plate dielectric barrier discharge system is investigated by means of electrical and optical measurements. Using a high voltage (0–20 kV) power supply operating at 10–30 kHz, homogeneous and steady APGD has been observed between the electrodes with gap spacing from 0.5 mm to 2 mm and with a dielectric barrier of thickness 2 mm while argon gas is fed at a controlled flow rate of 1 l/min. The electron temperature and electron density of the plasma are determined by means of optical emission spectroscopy. Our results show that the electron density of the discharge obtained is of the order of 1016 cm???3 while the electron temperature is estimated to be 0.65 eV. The important result is that electron density determined from the line intensity ratio method and stark broadening method are in very good agreement. The Lissajous figure is used to estimate the energy deposited to the glow discharge. It is found that the energy deposited to the discharge is in the range of 20 to 25 μJ with a discharge voltage of 1.85 kV. The energy deposited to the discharge is observed to be higher at smaller gas spacing. The glow discharge plasma is tested to be effective in reducing the hydrophobicity of polyethylene film significantly.  相似文献
