The characteristics of the modern monsoon climate o?China may be used as clues for recognizing the records of paleomonsoon climate. The present paper deals primarily with the various paleomonsoon records of the last 130,000 years in the southeast monsoon area. These records mainly come from the following three fields: (i) the historical, (ii) the geological, including loess-paleosol sequence, deserts, lakes, snowlines, timberlines, the phenomena of continental desertization and so on, and (iii) the biological, presented by vegetation and mammals. Among these records, the loess-paleosol sequence in the Loess Plateau reflects a climatic history characterized by alternation of two different climatic periods when the Asian winter monsoon and summer monsoon showed pronounced effects on environment, respectively.  相似文献

The Climatic Fluctuation and Important Events of Holocene Megathermal in China   总被引:12,自引:0,他引:12  
Data from various sources including the ice core, inland lakes , paleosols in loess and eolian sands, sea level fluctuations, paleozoological, archeological evidences especially palynology and bontanical studies of China are reviewed . Holocene Megathermal mainly appeared during 8. 5-3 ka BP and lasted for 5. 5 ka. There were several strong climatic fluctuations and cooling events during this period, e. g. it was an unstable temperature fluctuation phase during 8. 5-7. 2 ka BP and was accompanied with the increase of the precipitation as well as the northward and westward migration of the vegetation zone ; the rapid development of Neolithic Culture happened in this phase. It was a stable warm and wet phase from 7. 2 to 6 ka BP, i. e. Megathermal Maximum, when monsoon was rainfall almost throughout China, plants were unprecedentedly flourished, and the Yangshao Culture reached its climax. Based upon the effect of land-sea interaction on the paleomonsoon variation and the time series of climatic proxy-indicators, the historical Asian monsoon variation over the last 130,000 and 18,000 years has been reconstructed with an emphasis on the basic characteristics of summer monsoon circulation. The monsoon-climatic cycles and associated model of environmental development over the central and eastern China are proposed and the mechanism of paleomonsoon variation of China preliminarily discussed. The variation of East Asian monsoon circulation should be regarded as a regional result of both solar-radiation changes and the global glacial-interglacial cycles. The episodic uplifting of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau since the late Miocene has to a large extent controlled the forming and evolution of the paleomonsoon circulation of China.  相似文献

We propose a statistical dynamical theory for the violation of the hydrodynamic Stokes-Einstein (SE) diffusion law for a spherical nanoparticle in entangled and unentangled polymer melts based on a combination of mode coupling, Brownian motion, and polymer physics ideas. The non-hydrodynamic friction coefficient is related to microscopic equilibrium structure and the length-scale-dependent polymer melt collective density fluctuation relaxation time. When local packing correlations are neglected, analytic scaling laws (with numerical prefactors) in various regimes are derived for the non-hydrodynamic diffusivity as a function of particle size, polymer radius-of-gyration, tube diameter, degree of entanglement, melt density, and temperature. Entanglement effects are the origin of large SE violations (orders of magnitude mobility enhancement) which smoothly increase as the ratio of particle radius to tube diameter decreases. Various crossover conditions for the recovery of the SE law are derived, which are qualitatively distinct for unentangled and entangled melts. The dynamical influence of packing correlations due to both repulsive and interfacial attractive forces is investigated. A central finding is that melt packing fraction, temperature, and interfacial attraction strength all influence the SE violation in qualitatively different directions depending on whether the polymers are entangled or not. Entangled systems exhibit seemingly anomalous trends as a function of these variables as a consequence of the non-diffusive nature of collective density fluctuation relaxation and the different response of polymer-particle structural correlations to adsorption on the mesoscopic entanglement length scale. The theory is in surprisingly good agreement with recent melt experiments, and new parametric studies are suggested.  相似文献

Daihai Lake has faced severe shrinkage in recent years due to over-exploitation. Stable isotopes (D and 18O) and hydrochemistry are employed to investigate the source of lake water to better understand its recharge dynamics. Results show that, in additional to local rainfall, groundwater is also an important water supply to the lake and accounts for a greater proportion. The groundwater is not recharged by local rainfall, but originates from other sources with significantly depleted isotope values. Combined with springs and artesian wells in the basin, it is consistent with the recent discover of external groundwater recharging in Northern China.  相似文献

Constructed wetland employs vegetation as a natural medium to remove pollutants from wastewater for this treatment. It is eco-friendly, sustainable, economical, low maintenance, low running cost, and easy to use. This has prompted several studies to investigate its performance in treating pollutants from the conventional to emerging contaminants category, including pharmaceutical compounds. However, there is still a lack of work on the impact of monsoons on the removal efficiency of pharmaceutically active compounds from wastewater. This study evaluated constructed wetland performance during the premonsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon seasons. A pilot-scale constructed wetland setup was established to conduct this study. The target compound included paracetamol, ibuprofen, carbamazepine, lorazepam, ciprofloxacin, sulfamethoxazole, and Fluvastatin. In the constructed wetland, for paracetamol and ibuprofen, NSAIDs concentration was observed to be 1503–6307 ngL?1 and 564–808 ngL?1. The concentrations of antibiotics, sulfamethoxazole, and ciprofloxacin were 16532–21635 ngL?1 and 734–1178 ngL?1, respectively. The carbamazepine, lorazepam, and Lutvastatin concentration range was 616–906 ngL?1, 2742–3775 ngL?1, and 694–2068 ngL?1, respectively. The hazard quotient approach was adopted to evaluate potential environmental risk from target compounds. The increase of paracetamol 33 %, ibuprofen 94 %, ciprofloxacin 242 %, Sulfamethoxazole 64 %, and carbamazepine 77 % validated the study hypothesis. However, a decrease of 15 % lorazepam and 43 % Fluvastatin inferred that dilution was inversely proportional to the removal of these compounds. The seasonal removal efficiency was in order pre-monsoon < post-monsoon < monsoon. Hospital wastewater had HQ values of 90, 100, and 130 for premonsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon, respectively. After treatment from the constructed wetland, the wastewater effluent had reduced HQ value to 53, 35, and 70 for premonsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon periods respectively. The HQ values were further reduced in tubesettler to 22, 11, and 28. Ciprofloxacin posed no significant risk. However, sulfamethoxazole posed a high risk during premonsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon season. Further works are required to analyze the removal mechanism through plant uptake, sediment bed, and biodegradation for a different season or climatic condition to present the real-time performance of constructed wetlands for treating wastewater loaded with pharmaceutical compounds.  相似文献

Tonle Sap Lake (Cambodia) is the largest freshwater lake in SE Asia, and is reported to have one of the highest freshwater fish productions anywhere. During the dry season (November–April) the lake drains through a tributary to the Mekong River. The flow in the connecting tributary completely reverses during the wet monsoon (May–October), adding huge volumes of water back to the lake, increasing its area about fourfold. We hypothesize that nutrients are at least partially delivered via groundwater discharge, especially during the draining portion of the annual flood cycle. We surveyed over 200 km in the northern section of the lake using a customized system that measures natural 222Rn (radon), temperature, conductivity, GPS coordinates and water depth while underway. Results showed that there were portions of the lake with significant enrichments in radon, indicating likely groundwater inputs. These same areas were generally characterized by lower electrical conductivities. Samples collected from nearby wells also showed a general inverse relationship between radon and conductivity. Our data suggest that groundwater pathways are important, accounting for roughly 10–20 % of the freshwater flow of the Tonle Sap tributary (connection to the Mekong River), the largest single source of fresh water to the lake. Nutrient inputs from these inputs, because of higher concentrations in groundwater, will be correspondingly higher.  相似文献

Four sampling techniques, solid-phase microextraction (SPME), supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), steam distillation (SD), and solvent extraction (SE), were compared for the analysis of volatile constituents from a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) of the dried ripe fruit of Fructus Amomi (Sha Ren). A total of 38 compounds were identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Different SFE and SPME parameters (modifier content, extraction pressure, and temperature for SFE and fibers, extraction temperature, and time for SPME) were studied. The results by SFE and SPME were compared with those obtained by conventional SD and SE methods. The results showed that SFE and SPME are better sample preparation techniques than SD and SE. Due to SFE's requirement for expensive specialized instrumentation, the simplicity, low cost, and speed of SPME make it a more appropriate technique for extraction of volatile constituents in TCMs.  相似文献

We have studied the effect of adding sucrose distearate (2C(18)SE) on the solubilization capacity of microemulsions formed in the water/C(12)EO(6)/n-decane system. Upon addition of 2C(18)SE to the binary water/C(12)EO(6) system, a lamellar liquid crystal region developed. This suggests that the rigidity of the surfactant layer is strengthened. The solubilization of water and n-decane in the bicontinuous microemulsions increases about three times upon replacing 10% C(12)EO(6) with 2C(18)SE; besides, the HLB temperature is not greatly affected by 2C(18)SE. On the other hand, sucrose monostearate (C(18)SE) does not have such a function. The effect of added 2C(18)SE on the solubilization capacity of the discrete droplet-type o/w or w/o microemulsions was also studied. The efficiency of the solubilization-improving effect is reduced when the system is far from the HLB temperature. Copyright 2001 Academic Press.  相似文献

Transient grating (TG) spectroscopy has been applied to the photoinduced hydrogen-abstraction reaction of benzophenone (BP) in various kinds of room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs). After the photoexcitation of BP in RTILs, the formation of a benzophenone ketyl radical (BPK) was confirmed by the transient absorption method, and the TG signal was analyzed to determine the diffusion coefficients of BPK and BP. For comparison, diffusion coefficients of carbon monoxide (CO), diphenylacetylene (DPA), and diphenylcyclopropenone (DPCP) in various RTILs were determined by the TG method using the photodissociation reaction of DPCP. While the diffusion coefficients of the stable molecules BP, DPA, and DPCP were always larger than those predicted by the Stokes-Einstein (SE) relation in RTILs, that of BPK was much smaller than those of the stable molecules and relatively close to that predicted by the SE relation in all solvents. For the smallest molecule CO, the deviation from the SE relation was evident. The diffusion coefficients of stable molecules are better represented by a power law of the inverse of the viscosity when the exponent was less than unity. The ratios of the diffusion coefficient of BP to that of BPK were larger in RTILs (2.7-4.0) than those (1.4-2.3) in conventional organic solvents. The slow diffusion of BPK in RTILs was discussed in terms of the fluctuation of the local electric field produced by the surrounding solvent ions.  相似文献

This paper has analysed the major characteristics of long-term variation, of summermonsoon climate in South Asia since 1888. An abrupt enhancement of summer monsoon inthe 1920s and its synchronism with the global rapid warming have been detected by theMann-Kendall Rank Statistic test. Based on diagnostic analysis on the atmospheric circulationover the monsoon region and the thermal conditions of both ocean and land during theperiod of abrupt change, it is found that the warming over land was stronger and earlierthan that over the ocean, which would enhance the land-sea thermal contrast and thereforebe favorable to the development of monsoon low and the disturbance in the monsoon flow.This may be a direct factor for the abrupt enhancement of summer monsoon.  相似文献

The initial state selected time-dependent wave packet method was employed to calculate the integral cross sections for the H(2) + D(2) reaction with and without the centrifugal sudden (CS) approximation by including all important K (the projection of the total angular momentum on the body-fixed axis) blocks. With a full-dimensional model, the first fully converged coupled-channel (CC) cross sections for different competitive processes from the ground rotational state were obtained: collision induced dissociation (CID), four-center (4C) reaction and single exchange (SE) reaction. The effect of the total angular momentum J on the reaction dynamics of H(2) + D(2) and the accuracy of the CS approximation have also been studied. It was found that the CID and SE processes occur in a wide range of J values while the 4C process can only take place in a narrow window of J values. For this reason, the CC cross section for the 4C channel is merely comparable to the SE channel. A comparison of the integral cross sections from CC and CS calculations showed that the CS approximation works well for the CID process but not for the 4C and SE processes, and the discrepancy between the CC and CS cross sections grows larger as the translational energy and/or the vibrational energy increase(s).  相似文献

Femtosecond dynamics of riboflavin, the parent chromophore of biological blue-light receptors, was measured by broadband transient absorption and stationary optical spectroscopy in polar solution. Rich photochemistry is behind the small spectral changes observed: (i) loss of oscillator strength around time zero, (ii) sub-picosecond (ps) spectral relaxation of stimulated emission (SE), and (iii) coherent vibrational motion along a' (in-) and a' (out-of-plane) modes. Loss of oscillator strength is deduced from the differences in the time-zero spectra obtained in water and DMSO, with stationary spectroscopy and fluorescence decay measurements providing additional support. The spectral difference develops faster than the time resolution (20 fs) and is explained by formation of a superposition state between the optically active (1pi pi*) S1 and closely lying dark (1n pi*) states via vibronic coupling. Subsequent spectral relaxation involves decay of weak SE in the blue, 490 nm, together with rise and red shift of SE at 550 nm. The process is controlled by solvation (characteristic times 0.6 and 0.8 ps in water and DMSO, respectively). Coherent oscillations for a' and a' modes show up in different regions of the SE band. a' modes emerge in the blue edge of the SE and dephase faster than solvation. In turn, a' oscillations are found in the SE maximum and dephase on the solvation timescale. The spectral distribution of coherent oscillations according to mode symmetry is used to assign the blue edge of the SE band to a 1n pi*-like state (A'), whereas the optically active 1pi pi* (A') state emits around the SE maximum. The following model comes out: optical excitation occurs to the Franck-Condon pi pi* state, a pi pi*-n pi* superposition state is formed on an ultrafast timescale, vibrational coherence is transferred from a' to a' modes by pi pi*-n pi* vibronic coupling, and subsequent solvation dynamics alters the pi pi*/n pi* population ratio.  相似文献

Using an integrated lab-on-valve manifold in a microfluidic sequential injection format (microSI), automated sample processing has been developed for off-line and on-line monitoring of small-scale fermentations. Spectrophotometric assays of ammonia, glucose, glycerol, and free iron were downscaled to use micro-quantities of commercial reagents. By monitoring the reaction rate, the response curves in a stopped-flow mode generate linear calibration curves for ammonia [r2 = 1.000 (0.9% SE)], glycerol [r2 = 0.999 (1.1% SE)], glucose [r2 = 0.999 (1.1% SE)], and free iron [r2 = 0.999 (1.5% SE)]. Since sample dilution and reagent quantities are easily adjusted within the programmable SI format, the lab-on-valve system can accommodate samples over a wide concentration range (ammonia: 3-1200 ppm; glycerol: 20-120 ppm; glucose: 35-1000 ppm; and free iron: 80-400 ppm). This work demonstrates the key advantages of miniaturization through the reduction of sample and reagent use, minimizing waste and providing a compact yet reliable instrument. The lab-on-valve manifold uses a universal hardware configuration for all analyses, only requiring changes in software protocol and choice of reagents. All of these features are of particular importance to small-scale experimental fermentation where multiple analyte analyses are needed in real-time using small sample volumes. It is hoped that this first real-life application of the lab-on-valve manifold will serve not only as a model system to downscale assays in a practical fashion, but will also inspire and promote the use of the integrated microSI manifold approach for a wider range of biotechnological applications.  相似文献

Conclusion It can be concluded that for the determination of calcium and magnesium in mixtures two separate titrations are to be done in case of Calcon, Erio SE, BBG. Total calcium and magnesium was determined first and then calcium in a separate titration. Magnesium is found by differences whereas in the case of BBL, the mixture was first titrated for its calcium content, then the solution is made acidic with hydrochloric acid and then alkaline with ammonia buffer solution pH 10 and magnesium is determined in the same sample.It is also noticed that Erio SE can work in sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxid medium as well as in diethyl amine; but its drawback is the red hue which can be overcome by the addition of a green component, whereas BBL is spoilt in sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide medium.In comparing the first 3 indicators (Calcon, Erio SE, BBG) we find that BBG is the best one in the titration of calcium and magnesium using either EDTA on Complexion IV, and its endpoint has no red hue as that found in Erio SE; also the recovery of calcium is quantitative in any ratio of magnesium.

Cis and trans sugar edge/sugar edge (SE/SE) binding patterns are essential building units of RNAs. For example, SE/SE interactions form the A-minor motifs, the most important tertiary interaction type in functional RNAs. This study provides an in-depth structure and stability analysis for these two base pair families. Gas-phase-optimized geometries are reported for 12 cis and 7 trans SE/SE base pairs and contrasted to their X-ray counterparts. Interaction energies are computed at the RIMP2 level of theory using the density-functional-theory-optimized geometries. There is a good overall agreement between the optimized and X-ray geometries of the cis SE/SE base pairs. In contrast, only three of the seven trans SE/SE binding patterns could be optimized without a significant distortion of the X-ray geometry. Note, however, that many SE/SE base pairs participate in broader networks of interactions; thus it is not surprising to see some of them to deviate from the X-ray geometry in a complete isolation. Computed interaction energies reveal that all 12 known cis SE/SE binding patterns are very stable. Among the trans SE/SE binding patterns, only the rG/rG, rG/rC, and rA/rG base pairs are sufficiently stable in the crystal geometry. Prediction has been made for some structures not yet detected by crystallography, namely, cis rC/rC, rG/rC, rG/rU, and rU/rU and trans rG/rA base pairs. Interestingly, the new cis SE/SE binding patterns are not necessarily isosteric with the remaining 12 members of this family. The trans rG/rA base pair represents a viable option for base pairing in RNA to be identified by future X-ray studies. In a complete lack of structural information, prediction of other unknown members of the trans SE/SE family was not attempted. Analysis of the interaction energies shows a very large electron correlation component of the interaction energy, pointing at the elevated role of dispersion energy as compared to other types of base pairs. This likely is profitable for stabilization of SE/SE binding patterns in polar environments and could be one of the reasons why the A-minor motif is the leading type of tertiary interactions in RNAs.  相似文献

The reproducibility of contrast in secondary electron (SE) imaging during continuous electron irradiation, which caused surface contamination, was investigated using SE high-pass energy filtering in low-voltage scanning electron microscopy (SEM). According to high-pass energy-filtered imaging, dopant contrast in an indium phosphide remained remarkably stable during continuous electron irradiation although the contrast in unfiltered SE images decreased rapidly as a contamination layer was formed. Charge neutralization and the SE energy distributions indicate that the contamination layer induces a positive charge. This results in a decrease of low-energy SE emissions and reduced dopant contrast in unfiltered SE images. The retention of contrast was also observed in high-pass energy-filtered images of a gold surface. These results suggest that this imaging method can be widely used when SE intensities decrease under continuous electron irradiation in unfiltered SE images. Thus, high-pass energy-filtered SE imaging will be of a great assistance for SEM users in the reproducibility of contrast such as a quantitative dopant mapping in semiconductors.  相似文献

The shear viscosity formula derived by the density fluctuation theory in previous papers is computed for argon, krypton, and methane by using the self-diffusion coefficients derived in the modified free volume theory with the help of the generic van der Waals equation of state. In the temperature regime near or above the critical temperature, the density dependence of the shear viscosity can be accounted for by ab initio calculations with the self-diffusion coefficients provided by the modified free volume theory if the minimum (critical) free volume is set equal to the molecular volume and the volume overlap parameter (alpha) is taken about unity in the expression for the self-diffusion coefficient. In the subcritical temperature regime, if the density fluctuation range parameter is chosen appropriately at a temperature, then the resulting expression for the shear viscosity can well account for its density and temperature dependence over the ranges of density and temperature experimentally studied. In the sense that once the density fluctuation range is fixed at a temperature, the theory can account for the experimental data at other subcritical temperatures on the basis of the intermolecular force only; the theory is predictive even in the subcritical regime of temperature. Theory is successfully tested in comparison with experimental data for self-diffusion coefficients and shear viscosity for argon, krypton, and methane.  相似文献

A time-dependent initial state selected wave packet method has been developed to study the H2(v(1)=10-11,j1=0)+H2'(v2=0,j2=0)-->HH'+HH' four-center (4C) reaction, and two other competing reactions: the H2+H2'-->H+H+H2' collision induced dissociation (CID) and the H2+H2'-->H+HH'+H' single exchange (SE) reaction, in full six dimensions. Initial state-specific total reaction probabilities for these three competing reactions are presented for total angular momentum J=0 and the effects of reagent vibration on reactions are examined. It is found that (a) the CID process is the dominant process over the whole energy range considered in this study, but the 4C and SE processes also have non-negligible probabilities; (b) the SE process has a lower threshold energy than the 4C process, but the SE probability increases slower than the 4C probability as collision energy increases; (c) the vibrational excitation of H2(v1) is much more efficient than translational motion for promoting these processes, in particular to the CID process.  相似文献

Bilayer membranes and bilayer foam or emulsion films were considered thermodynamically from a unified point of view as two-dimensional phases. The work of fluctuation formation of holes in a bilayer was determined and it was shown that the bilayer can be either stable or unstable with respect to rupture by hole nucleation. When the bilayer is in contact with a solution, its stability with respect to rupture was found to decrease with decreasing concentration of dissolved amphiphiles, and a limiting concentration was shown to exist, below which the bilayer is subject to rupture by hole nucleation. The connection is discussed between existing formulae for the work of fluctuation formation of holes in bilayers.  相似文献
