A generalized auxiliary equation method and its applications

In this paper, a generalized auxiliary equation method with the aid of the computer symbolic computation system Maple is proposed to construct more exact solutions of nonlinear evolution equations, namely, the higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation, the Whitham–Broer–Kaup system, and the generalized Zakharov equations. As a result, some new types of exact travelling wave solutions are obtained, including soliton-like solutions, trigonometric function solutions, exponential solutions, and rational solutions. The method is straightforward and concise, and its applications are promising.

Self-similar singular solution of fast diffusion equation with gradient absorption terms

The self-similar singular solution of the fast diffusion equation with nonlinear gradient absorption terms are studied. By a self-similar transformation, the self-similar solutions satisfy a boundary value problem of nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE). Using the shooting arguments, the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the initial data problem of the nonlinear ODE are investigated, and the solutions are classified by the region of the initial data. The necessary and sufficient condition for the existence and uniqueness of self-similar very singular solutions is obtained by investigation of the classification of the solutions. In case of existence, the self-similar singular solution is very singular solution.

By using the method of dynamical systems, the travelling wave solutions of for an integrable nonlinear evolution equation is studied. Exact explicit parametric representations of kink and anti-kink wave, periodic wave solutions and uncountably infinite many smooth solitary wave solutions are given.

Generalized hyperbolic perturbation method for homoclinic solutions of strongly nonlinear autonomous systems

A generalized hyperbolic perturbation method is presented for homoclinic solutions of strongly nonlinear autonomous oscillators,in which the perturbation procedure is improved for those systems whose exact homoclinic generating solutions cannot be explicitly derived.The generalized hyperbolic functions are employed as the basis functions in the present procedure to extend the validity of the hyperbolic perturbation method.Several strongly nonlinear oscillators with quadratic,cubic,and quartic nonlinearity are studied in detail to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the present method.

Travelling wave solutions for a second order wave equation of KdV type

The theory of planar dynamical systems is used to study the dynamical behaviours of travelling wave solutions of a nonlinear wave equations of KdV type.In different regions of the parametric space,sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of solitary wave solutions,periodic wave solutions,kink and anti-kink wave solutions are given.All possible exact explicit parametric representations are obtained for these waves.     

Existence and breaking property of real loop-solutions of two nonlinear wave equations

Dynamical analysis has revealed that, for some nonlinear wave equations, loop- and inverted loop-soliton solutions are actually visual artifacts. The so-called loopsoliton solution consists of three solutions, and is not a real solution. This paper answers the question as to whether or not nonlinear wave equations exist for which a ＂real＂ loopsolution exists, and if so, what are the precise parametric representations of these loop traveling wave solutions.     

Kink wave determined by parabola solution of a nonlinear ordinary differential equation

By finding a parabola solution connecting two equilibrium points of a planar dynamical system,the existence of the kink wave solution for 6 classes of nonlinear wave equations is shown.Some exact explicit parametric representations of kink wave solutions are given.Explicit parameter conditions to guarantee the existence of kink wave solutions are determined.

Double degeneration on second-order breather solutions of Maxwell–Bloch equation

The breather solutions of the Maxwell–Bloch equations in a two-level resonant system associated with the self-induced transparency phenomenon are constructed by the Darboux transformation. After constructing the formulas of the second-order breather solutions, the double degeneration and hybrid solutions are studied by the analytical form as well as figures. Our results might be helpful in such application or prevention of the rogue waves from breather solution interactions and degeneration in the nonlinear optical systems associated with the Maxwell–Bloch equations.     

A new method for finding special solutions of nonlinear diffusion equation

A straightforward and concise method is proposed to construct special solutions of nonlinear diffusion equation. Many new special solutions obtained. We believe this method is effective on solving other nonlinear differential equations.

Shape analysis and damped oscillatory solutions for a class of nonlinear wave equation with quintic term简

This paper aims at analyzing the shapes of the bounded traveling wave solu- tions for a class of nonlinear wave equation with a quintic term and obtaining its damped oscillatory solutions. The theory and method of planar dynamical systems are used to make a qualitative analysis to the planar dynamical system which the bounded traveling wave solutions of this equation correspond to. The shapes, existent number, and condi- tions are presented for all bounded traveling wave solutions. The bounded traveling wave solutions are obtained by the undetermined coefficients method according to their shapes, including exact expressions of bell and kink profile solitary wave solutions and approxi- mate expressions of damped oscillatory solutions. For the approximate damped oscillatory solution, using the homogenization principle, its error estimate is given by establishing the integral equation, which reflects the relation between the exact and approximate so- lutions. It can be seen that the error is infinitesimal decreasing in the exponential form.
