Cosmic-ray data of 90 M events have been collected and used for calibration,alignment as well as detector tuning. A special tracking algorithm for the BESⅢ muon counter is developed and verified with Monte-Carlo simulation and then further confirmed with the cosmic-ray data. The obtained strip resolutions are in good agreement with the design values. A new alignment approach for the BESⅢ muon counter is confirmed with the cosmic-ray data and proposed to be used in future analysis of experimental data.  相似文献

Offline calibration plays an important role in BES offline data processing. In order to achieve good spatial and momentum resolution, it is necessary to implement high precision offline calibration for the BES drift chamber. This paper studies the time-to-distance relations, which are important calibration constants for track reconstruction. The parameterization of the time-to-distance relation, studies of left-right asymmetry and studies of variation with entrance angle are performed. The impact of dead channels on the time-to-distance relation is given special attention in order to reduce the shift in measured momentum for tracks passing near dead cells. Finally we present the resolutions for barrel Bhabha events(|cos θ|< 0.8) from a J/ψ data set taken in 2012. The average spatial resolution is 123 μm and the momentum resolution for 1.548 Ge V/c Bhabha tracks is 11.9 Me V/c.  相似文献

The Compass experiment at CERN is studying the nucleon spin structure with a 160 GeV polarized muon beam and polarized targets as well as hadron structure with 190 GeV pion,kaon and proton beams.The paper gives an overview of the results for the helicity and transverse spin structure of the nucleon.A first result from the spectroscopy experiments,the observation of a resonance with exotic J P C = 1-+ quantum numbers at 1660 MeV is also presented.The paper ends with an outlook to future measurements.  相似文献

We describe the algorithm to reconstruct the charged tracks for BESⅢ main drift chamber at BEPCⅡ, including the track finding and fitting. With a new method of the Track Segment Finder (TSF), the results of present study indicate that the algorithm can reconstruct the charged tracks over a wide range of momentum with high efficiency, while improving the robustness against the background noise in the drift chamber. The overall performances, including spatial resolution, momentum resolution and secondary vertices reconstruction efficiency, etc. satisfy the requirements of BESⅢ experiment.  相似文献

The BES detector has operated for about 12 years,and the BES offline data analysis environment also has been developed and upgraded along with developments of the BES hardware and software.The BESⅢ software system will operate for many years.Thus they should meet developments of the new technology in software,It should be highly flexible,Powerful,stable and easy for maintenance.And following points should be taken into account:1) To benefit the collaboration and make better exchanges with the international HEP experiments this system shoule be set up by adopting or referring the newest technology in the software from advanced experiments in the world.2).It should support hundreds of the existing BES software packages and serve for both old experts who familiar with BESII software and computing environment and new members who is going to benefit from the new system.3).The most BESII existing packages will be modified or re-designed according to the hardware changes.  相似文献

A modified adaptive algebraic reconstruction technique (MAART) with an auto-adjustment relaxation parameter and smoothness regularization is developed to reveal the tomographic reconstruction of H 2 O distribution in combustion from incomplete projections. Determinations of relaxation parameter and regularization factor are discussed with regard to the consideration of improvement in reconstruction and reduction of computational burden. A two-wavelength scheme from tunable diode laser absorption measurement, 7444.36 and 7185.59 cm 1 , is used to simplify the nonlinear solution problem for obtaining the tomographic distributions of concentration and temperature simultaneously. Results of calculations demonstrate that MAART can perform the reconstruction results more efficiently with little complex modification and much lower iterations as compared with the traditional algebraic reconstruction technique (ART) or simultaneous iterative reconstruction technique (SIRT) methods. The stability of the algorithm is studied by reconstruction from projections with random noise at different levels to demonstrate the dependence of reconstruction results on precise line-of-sight measurements.  相似文献

The local reconstruction from truncated projection data is one area of interest in image reconstruction for computed tomography(CT),which creates the possibility for dose reduction.In this paper,a filtered-backprojection(FBP) algorithm based on the Radon inversion transform is presented to deal with the three-dimensional(3D) local reconstruction in the circular geometry.The algorithm achieves the data filtering in two steps.The first step is the derivative of projections,which acts locally on the data and can thus be carried out accurately even in the presence of data truncation.The second step is the nonlocal Hilbert filtering.The numerical simulations and the real data reconstructions have been conducted to validate the new reconstruction algorithm.Compared with the approximate truncation resistant algorithm for computed tomography(ATRACT),not only it has a comparable ability to restrain truncation artifacts,but also its reconstruction efficiency is improved.It is about twice as fast as that of the ATRACT.Therefore,this work provides a simple and efficient approach for the approximate reconstruction from truncated projections in the circular cone-beam CT.  相似文献

The L3+C experiment, taking advantage of the L3 muon magnetic spectrometer, measured the spatial tracks of charged cosmic ray particles to obtain rigidity as well as velocity. One possible low velocity exotic particle is observed. The existing uncertainties are discussed, and the flux upper limit of the low velocity exotic particles from this observation is deduced based on the assumption of a null observation. The result is 6.2×10^-10 cm^-2·s^-1·sr^-1 at 90% confidence level in the velocity range from 0.04c to 0.5c.  相似文献

Three large sized glass resistive plate chambers (RPCs) are built and applied to measure the spatial resolution of the detector. The readout strips are collected to a LC delay-line and the time difference is used to determine the position. Cosmic rays are triggered by a set of two scintillation counters and the coincidently measured positions from the three RPCs are used to deduce the position uncertainty. In average a spatial resolution of 0.90 mm (FWHM) is obtained for a single RPC, with a good uniformity across the detection area. This result suggests that large sized glass RPC operating in the avalanche mode is a promising candidate for the muon tomography detection system.  相似文献

In this paper the J/ψ→μ^+μ^- reconstruction performance in the CMS experiment at the LHC is studied in detail by using B8→J/ψφ→μμKK events. The reconstruction efficiencies of J/ψ mesons and their decay muons are obtained as a function of the transverse momentum PT and the pseudo-rapidity η. We also study the muon trigger efficiency for this channel with the planned Level-1 trigger and High Level Trigger selection criteria. It was observed that the muon reconstruction efficiency decreases when the two decay muons have a small or large 3D angular separation, which further affects the overall J/ψ reconstruction efficiency.  相似文献

In order to take away much more heat on the BESⅢ beam pipe to guarantee the normal particle detection,EDM-1(oil No.1 for electric discharge machining),with good thermal and flow properties was selected as the candidate coolant for the central beryllium pipe of the BESⅢ beam pipe.Its cooling character was studied and dynamic corrosion experiment was undertaken to examine its corrosion on beryllium.The experiment results show that EDM-1 would corrode the beryllium 19.9 μm in the depth in 10 years,which is weak and can be neglected.Finite element simulation and experiment research were taken to check the cooling capacity of EDM-1.The results show that EDM-1 can meet the cooling requirement of the central beryllium pipe.Now EDM-1 is being used to cool the central beryllium pipe of the BESⅢ beam pipe.  相似文献

The semi-constrained NMSSM(scNMSSM) extends the MSSM by a singlet field, and requires unification of the soft SUSY breaking terms in the squark and slepton sectors, while it allows that in the Higgs sector to be different. We try to interpret the muon g-2 in the sc NMSSM, under the constraints of 125 Ge V Higgs data, B physics,searches for low and high mass resonances, searches for SUSY particles at the LHC, dark matter relic density by WMAP/Planck, and direct searches for dark matter by LUX, XENON1T, and PandaX-II. We find that under the above constraints, the sc NMSSM can still(i) satisfy muon g-2 at 1σ level, with a light muon sneutrino and light chargino;(ii) predict a highly-singlet-dominated 95 GeV Higgs, with a diphoton rate as hinted at by CMS data,because of a light higgsino-like chargino and moderate λ;(iii) get low fine tuning from the GUT scale with smallμeff, M_0, M_(1/2), and A_0, with a lighter stop mass which can be as low as about 500 GeV, which can be further checked in future studies with search results from the 13 TeV LHC;(iv) have the lightest neutralino be singlino-dominated or higgsino-dominated, while the bino and wino are heavier because of high gluino bounds at the LHC and universal gaugino conditions at the GUT scale;(v) satisfy all the above constraints, although it is not easy for the lightest neutralino, as the only dark matter candidate, to get enough relic density. The online Data Quality Monitoring (DQM) tool plays an important role in the data recording process of HEP experiments. The BESⅢ DQM collects data from the online data flow, reconstructs them with offline reconstruction software and automatically analyzes the reconstructed data with user-defined algorithms. The DQM software is a scalable distributed system. The monitored results are gathered and displayed in various formats, which provides the shifter with current run information that can be used to identify problems quickly. The high spin states of the neutron-rich 109Tc nucleus are reinvestigated by observing prompt γ-rays from the spontaneous fission of 252 Cf. The previously known yrast band based on the 7/2+ state is updated. A side band built on the 11/2+ state is expanded and a new band based on the 15/2+ state is identified. Band crossing in the yrast band occurs around fω≈ 0.36 MeV. This band crossing is associated with the alignment of two h11/2 neutrons according to the cranked shell model calculations. The band based on the 11/2+ state is proposed as a candidate for the one-phonon γ-vibrational band, and the band built on the 15/2+ state is proposed as a candidate for the two-phonon γ-vibrational band. Other characteristics for the observed bands are discussed.  相似文献

A new forward vertex detector is under construction for the PHENIX experiment and will be installed in 2011. The device consists of two sets of four disks of silicon mini-strips and matches the acceptance of the existing muon detectors, and will provide precise vertex measurement for charged tracks. The forward vertex detector is designed to greatly enhance the heavy-flavor physics capabilities on PHENIX. A GEANT4-based Monte-Carlo (MC) model is developed to study the performance of endcap time-of-flight (ETOF) at BESⅢ. It's found that the multiple scattering effects, mainly from the materials at the MDC endcap, can cause multi-hit on the ETOF's readout cell and significantly influence the timing property of ETOF. A multi-gap resistive plate chamber (MRPC) with a smaller readout cell structure is more suitable for the ETOF detector due to significantly reduced multi-hit rate (per channel), from 71.5% for currently-used scintillator-based ETOF to 21.8% or 16.7% for MRPC-based ETOF, depending on the readout pad size used. The timing performance of an MRPC ETOF is also improved. These simulation results suggest and guide an ETOF upgrade effort at BESⅢ.  相似文献

The relative differences in coordinates of Cylindrical Gas Electron Multiplier Detector-based Inner Tracker(CGEM-IT) clusters are studied to search for track segments in CGEM-IT for the BESIII experiment.With the full simulation of single muon track samples, clear patterns are found and parameterized for the correct cluster combinations. The cluster combinations satisfying the patterns are selected as track segment candidates in CGEM-IT with an efficiency higher than 99%. The parameters of the track segments are obtained by a helix fitting.Some χ~2 quantities, evaluating the differences in track parameters between the track segments in CGEM-IT and the tracks found in the outer drift chamber, are calculated and used to match them. Proper χ~2 requirements are determined as a function of transverse momentum and the matching efficiency is found to be reasonable.  相似文献

<正>π~±IG(JP)=l-(O-)We have omitted some results that have been superseded by later experiments.The omitted results may be found in our 1988 edition Physics Letters B204 1(1988).π~±MASS The most accurate charged pion mass measurements are based upon xray wavelength measurements for transitions inπ~-mesonic atoms.The observed line is the blend of three components,corresponding to different K-shell occupancies.JECKELMANN 94 revisits the occupancy question,with the conclusion that two sets of occupancy ratios,resulting in two different pion masses(Solutions A and B),are equally probable.We choose the higher Solution B since only this solution is consistent with a positive mass-squared for the muon neutrino,given the precise muon momentum measurements now available(DAUM 91,ASSAMAGAN 94,and ASSAMAGAN 96)for the decay of pions at rest.Earlier mass determinations with pi-mesonic atoms may have used incorrect K-shell screening corrections.Measurements with an error of0.005 MeV have been omitted from this Listing.  相似文献
