一种高功率掺铒光纤超荧光光源   总被引:7,自引:6,他引:1  
通过优化掺铒光纤各种参量,用一个980 nm激光二极管作抽运源,采用单程结构,在一根光纤后向获得功率高达31.74 mW(15.02 dBm)的C-波段ASE输出的同时,其前向得到了功率为10.14 mW(10.06 dBm)的L-波段ASE输出.通过简单连接组合可得到输出覆盖C+L波段(1525~1620 nm)功率>36 mW的掺铒光纤宽带光源.  相似文献

Glass-clad Cr4+:YAG crystal fiber is demonstrated by a codrawing laser-heated pedestal growth method. As much as 2.45 mW of superwideband amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) is generated in the optical fiber communication band with a 3-dB width of 240 nm. The simulation indicates that the ASE power could be in excess of 20 dBm for a 5-microm-diameter core at a pump power of 2.5 W.  相似文献

针对传统的L-band EDFA的工作效率低,提出了一种基于单根光纤光栅、泵浦分配、两段级联的EDFA的新结构,其中的光纤光栅用来反射无用的后向C-band ASE.系统地研究了泵浦比例和光纤光栅波长对增益噪声指数的影响关系.最后经实验验证,得到了低噪声、高增益的L-band的EDFA.其在输入信号光(1570 nm)功率为-30 dBm及泵浦功率为70 mW时,增益为22.26 dB,增益噪声指数为4.96 dB.  相似文献

一种结构新颖的L波段掺铒光纤激光器   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
提出了一种结构新颖的L波段环形腔掺铒光纤激光器。用掺铒光纤作为增益介,采用980nm激光器作为前向抽运源,利用起偏器和偏振控制器获得L波段激光,利用光环形器将后向的放大自发辐射再引入铒光纤的前端,重复利用。当抽运功率为103mW时得到了阈值功率约为23.87mW,输出功率达6.34mW的激光输出,斜率效率约为8.05%,与没有重复利用后向放大自发辐射谱的掺铒光纤激光器做比较,该结构对L波段掺铒光纤激光器的性能有明显的提升作用。对于长度不合适的铒纤,在没有重复利用后向放大自发辐射谱时没有获得激光输出;而在利用后向放大自发辐射后,在阈值功率约为88mW时得到了激光输出,从而很好地证明了上述结论。  相似文献

A step-index polymer optical fiber (SI POF) with a core of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) containing Eu(DBM)3Phen has been fabricated by a preform technique. Fluorescence analysis showed that there is not obvious change in the local environment around Eu3+with the increase of Eu(DBM)3Phen doping concentration. Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) phenomenon of the doped SI POF by end-pumping with an Ar+-laser of 457.9 nm at ambient temperature was observed. The threshold of the pump power for the onset of ASE is found to be 120 mW for the doped SI POF with a length of 50 cm, the length is also found to be the optimal length for maximum ASE power under the input power of 200 mW. The maximum quantum conversion efficiency of the fiber is about 40%.  相似文献

报道了一种结构简单、工作在L波段、可调谐的线形腔Er/Yb共掺双包层光纤激光器.利用由两段高双折射光纤和两个偏振控制器构成的环镜滤波器对激光器进行调谐,使调谐范围达到34 nm,功率起伏小于±0.2 dB.用976 nm多模LD泵浦Er/Yb共掺双包层光纤产生的ASE作为二次泵源,对未泵浦的一段光纤进行泵浦,使腔内Er/Yb共掺光纤的增益谱移到L波段;多个泵浦源同时对Er/Yb共掺双包层光纤进行侧向泵浦,使激光器输出功率超过了200 mW.  相似文献

通过在腔内放置汇聚型布儒斯特角轴锥体,并对增益光纤采用双端泵浦, 实验上实现了掺镱双包层光纤激光器的径向偏振模振荡.对增益光纤的末端做了斜角抛光,抑制了光纤端面间的寄生振荡,减小了在低泵浦功率下被放大的自发辐射光份额.该激光器的域值约为175 mW,斜率效率13.8%,激发波长约1085 nm.当泵浦功率达到最大值460 mW时,获得了39 mW的激光输出功率,其光束偏振纯度和圆柱形对称性有显著改善.  相似文献

The output characteristics of actively Q-switched ytterbium-doped fiber lasers (YDFL) are investigated in this paper. Our experimental results show that, the combined effect between the short switching time and the gain transient property of doped fiber causes the initial amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) power fluctuation, forming the multi-peak structure in the output pulse for either ring or linear cavity Q-switched YDFL. The pulse buildup time decreases with the rising of the pump. Moreover, since the broad-band ASE generated in the YDF is very high, it may saturate the doped fiber once the switch has been opened, making it difficult to achieve Q-switched laser oscillation for both fiber lasers. By using ASE filter to suppress the initial ASE, the gain supplied by the YDF can be greatly enhanced, which can not only decrease the threshold, but also greatly decrease the duration, and enhance the peak power of the Q-switched laser pulse as well. By using such an ASE filter, the Q-switched laser pulse with the peak power of 40.7 W and the duration of 30 ns has been achieved for the linear cavity YDFL pumped with 160 mW.  相似文献

利用双程双向泵浦单级掺铒光纤的结构实现高效率的L波段掺铒光纤放大自发辐射输出,同时选择1480nm半导体激光器作为泵浦源,高掺杂铒光纤为增益介质,通过优化铒光纤长度,获得了在1566-1604 nm(38 nm),自发辐射谱功率高于-16 dBm,总输出功率13.7 dBm的L波段掺铒光纤放大自发辐射光源.该光源结构相比于双程前向泵浦结构的L波段掺铒光纤放大自发辐射光源,其泵浦效率从11.8%提高到23.4%.  相似文献

采用半导体激光二极管泵浦12cm长高掺铒光纤,在双程前向装置中,获得了10.8mW最大超荧光输出功率,斜率效率10.6%,在1553.1~1588.6nm接近36nm的范围内,功率抖动小于0.2dBm。作为比较,在相同实验条件下泵浦10cm长的高掺铒光纤,结果显示输出光谱带宽明显下降,C波段的放大自发辐射远大于L波段的,由此也证明了L波段的放大自发辐射是由C波段的放大自发辐射泵浦产生的。  相似文献

A new technique to generate a C+L-band flat amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source in one-stage erbium-doped fiber (EDF) using bi-directional pumping configuration is analyzed. The simulation results show that the key point of obtaining flat C+L-band ASE spectrum in one-stage EDF is using a laser diode operated at 980 nm as backward pump source. ASE source with nearly 80-nm bandwidth can be obtained by means of selecting suitable fiber length and properly adjusting the ratio of forward to backward pump power.  相似文献

提出了并实验演示了利用247 cm新型铋基掺铒光纤和10 m传统硅基掺铒光纤联合作为增益介质、采用双向泵浦结构的超宽带放大自发辐射光源.分析了其物理机理,并与其它不同形式的结构,包括已报道的类似结构,做了实验比较和理论分析.在低于240 mW的总泵浦功率和没有使用任何外部谱平坦滤波器的情况下,通过优化传统硅基掺铒光纤长度和两泵浦源的功率,获得了96 nm(1 522 nm~1 618 nm)的波长范围(大于-20dBm/2nm功率密度时)和超过11dBm的总输出功率,该ASE光源的-10dB带宽超过了87nm,其谱的峰值功率密度达到了-2.5 dBm/2 nm.  相似文献

We have proposed and demonstrated a double-pass ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier using an optical circulator and a fiber Bragg grating as reflector. When the signal has passed through the ytterbium-doped fiber once, it reflects off a 0.2-nm passive fiber Bragg grating filter. This reduces amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise from the first pass. The input signal light is amplified both forward and backward through ytterbium-doped fiber. With this double-pass configuration, 1053.15-nm unsaturated signal gain of 28 dB, gain coefficient of 1.1 dB/mW, and noise figure of less than 4 dB are achieved at 977-nm pump power of 68 mW. It is also found that this double-pass configure provides enhancing gain coefficient and improving noise figure by comparison with single-pass configuration.  相似文献

We experimentally investigate a high output power L-band (1565–1605 nm) erbium-doped fiber amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source using dual forward-pumping configuration. Such configuration allows high pumping-power operation and enhances the pumping efficiency. The high pumping efficiency of 36.1% is achieved for such ASE source with a mirror reflectance of 30%. The output power of about 72.2 mW and a linewidth of 40.8 nm with a power ripple of 0.7 dB are obtained without using any external spectral filters.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power single-frequency master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) fiber laser.The central wavelength of the single-frequency fiber laser seed is 1 063.8 nm,with a linewidth narrower than 20 kHz and output power of 120 mW.By using two-stage amplification,a single-frequency fiber laser with an output power of 122 W is obtained,and the optical-optical conversion efficiency is 72%.No significant amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) or stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is observed.The output power can be further increased by launching more pump power.  相似文献

在分析L波段放大自发辐射(ASE)谱产生原理的基础上,设计出一种新颖的双级结构掺铒光纤ASE宽带光源,该光源可在两个端口分别输出高功率的C波段和L波段的ASE谱.设计将C波段ASE谱注入到掺铒光纤中作为L波段ASE谱的二次抽运源,使得L波段ASE谱功率得到了有效提高.优化光源结构参量后从两个端口分别获得了12.97 dBm和12.81 dBm的C波段和L波段ASE宽带谱.将两个输出端口组合得到了功率为15.9 dBm,泵浦转换效率达到21.6%的C+L波段超宽带ASE光源.  相似文献

Some analysis of the transient response of the Yb-doped fiber amplifier are performed by solving a set of time-dependent rate and power transfer equations based on finite-difference method.Meanwhile,the variation of time to reach the steady state for upper level population distribution,the forward and backward amplified spontaneous emissions(ASEs)and stored energy on the system parameters including pump power,fiber length,Yb-doped concentration,and core area are numerically simulated,respectively.The results show that,by optimizing pump pulse width,stored energy can reach or even exceed the steady state value of continuous wave(CW)pump.By increasing Yb-doped concentration and core area,stored energy is increased,the ASE is suppressed and the ASE built-up time is postponed.In addition,the experimental results show the validity of the theoretical ASE built-up time.The obtained results can provide important guiding for the optimization of pump pulse width and fiber parameters.  相似文献

The avalanche energy transfer in highly thulium doped fiber amplifiers (TDFA) pumped at 1056 nm with laser diodes was investigated. Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) at 800 nm and 1470 nm as well as the remaining pump power were measured as function of the pump power to explain the efficiency of the energy transfer between thulium ions. As proof of our theory, fiber amplifiers based on self-made fluoride fibers doped with 2000 and 5000 ppm thulium were realized and their gain and noise figure was measured. A gain of more than 25 dB and a noise figure of less than 4 dB was achieved at a pump power of 210 mW in a TDFA using the 5000 ppm thulium fiber, whereas a gain maximum of only 5.6 dB was observed with the 2000 ppm TDF. 在高功率光纤放大器实验中,时常发现增益光纤抽运注入熔接点后10—50 cm处容易发生光纤烧毁现象.为了对该现象进行理论预测,基于光纤激光器速率方程模型和增益光纤的热传导模型,从种子功率、抽运功率和抽运吸收三个方面对掺镱双包层光纤放大器中的放大自发辐射(ASE)和温度特性进行研究.结果表明,在放大倍率较高、ASE较为严重等情况下,光纤放大器中的最高温度点一般不在抽运注入的熔接点处,而在距离熔接点10—50 cm处,与实验中发现光纤烧毁的位置基本符合.从光纤放大器的ASE抑制、最高温度点温度控制角度出发,对光纤放大器在种子功率、抽运功率、抽运吸收、放大倍率和抽运波长等方面的设计给出了指导性的建议.  相似文献
