The effects of surface resistivity of the high voltage provider on the space dispersion of the induced charge of a prototype Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) have been studied experimentally and theoretically. The results of both experiment and theory agree and confirm that a two-Gaussian function can be used to fit the dispersion of the induced charge of the RPC. It is shown that the Gaussian function with the narrower width is mainly due to the expansion of the avalanche charge in the gas gap of the RPC, and the Gaussian function with the larger width is due to the charge dispersion when it passes through the resistive carbon film. This will be useful in the RPC design when one wants to make an RPC with high position resolution. 相似文献

The BESⅢ RPC with Gd coating as thermal neutron detector was designed and constructed. Three prototypes were built with different techniques of producing the gadolinium converter. The performance of the cosmic ray test, the signal and the radiation spectrum were discussed in this paper. Lastly, the efficiency of one prototype with the best performance for detecting the thermal neutron was tested as 8.7%. 相似文献

A prototype RPC with position resolution less than 1 mm has been produced and studied. Based on this RPC detector, the effect of the width of the integrated FADC time window on the position resolution of a RPC has been studied experimentally and theoretically. The calibration algorithm for RPC-based muon detector at BESIII has been developed. The calibration method, calibration error and algorithm performance are studied. The primary results of efficiency and noise at layer, module and strip levels have been calibrated with cosmic ray data. The calibration constants are available for simulation and reconstruction tuning. The results of Monte Carlo and data are also compared to check the validation and reliability of the algorithm. 相似文献

Photovoltaic cell and module manufactures optimise their products according to power measurements performed at a set of standard-test conditions. A key parameter for the financing of a solar project is yield under field or realistic conditions. Field testing modules is time consuming and costly. Hence, we develop a methodology for simulating PV module yield based on the optical, thermal and electrical properties of the components, and the module configuration regarding the cell spacing, interconnection and module layers. With our procedure, we model the performance of standard, half cell and encapsulant free modules in different locations. We present results using our cell to module yield framework for 16 different locations in Australia based on one-minute ground measured solar irradiance and ambient temperature values. We find low-light irradiance losses are directly correlated to the number of cloudy days at a given site. The majority of fielded losses are due to temperature effects, which can be predicted by the average temperature at 3 p.m. We note that wind speed is not accounted for and it will be incorporated in future studies. 相似文献

A modular system for constructing an atmospheric pressure plasma source is presented and studied. The design and construction of the plasma torch module by modifying and reassembling the structural components of two different models of spark plugs are first described. Each module can produce a torch plasma of 1 cm radius and 6 cm height and having a peak density exceeding 1013 cm-3. A set of modules, each connected in series with a ballasting capacitor in the circuit, can be operated as an array sharing a common power source to produce a dense and large-volume plasma. The electrical characteristics of the module are studied for the case of a single module and two capacitively coupled modules. The discharge can be maintained, with the aid of ballasting capacitors, in a stable diffuse arc. Local shading during thin film deposition monolithically interconnects thin film solar cells into photovoltaic modules. This in‐situ series connection method is, for the first time, applied to an amorphous silicon tandem cell structure. Sequential maskingand mask‐shifting forms the electrical series connection in‐situ, i.e. during the sputtering and plasma depositions of the contact and semiconductor layers of the thin film solar cell structure. The resulting photovoltaic module consists of five amorphous silicon tandem cells with a total module area A_{\rm m} =12.5\mathop {\;{\rm cm}}\nolimits^2. The module exhibits a fill factor {\rm FF}_{\rm m} > 72% and a total area efficiency \eta _{\rm m} =6.2%. Thermographic imaging proves successful patterning by local shading and attributes low shunt resistances of some component cells to single pinhole formation. The dark‐shunt resistance of each cell of the module amounts to R_{{\rm sc}{\rm,dark}{\rm,cell}} > 13\;{\rm k\Omega }\;{\rm cm}^{2} and for the complete module to R_{{\rm sc}{\rm,dark}{\rm,module}} =454\;{\rm k\Omega }\;{\rm cm}^{2}. The installation of the BESⅢ RPC system has been completed.Cosmic ray test results show that they perform very well in streamer mode and meet the BESⅢ requirements.We have tested several RPCs in the avalanche mode with the addition of extra SF6 in the gas mixture.We find an efficiency plateau that reaches~95%.and a time resolution of 1.8 ns.This demonstrates that the BESⅢ-type RPC can work in the avalanche mode as well. 相似文献

We developed optical simulation models for TFT-LCD modules in LED projectors to study the effects of optical properties and light projection tilting angle on the transmission rate of liquid crystals. Optical properties for modules in each of the LCD panel layers were included in the study. The experiment for establishing crystal rotation was first constructed to measure changes in the transmission rate as light was projected on the LCD panel from different angles. The relationship between light attenuation and the allowable angles at which the LCD panel is able to allow light to shine through, was investigated. The results were used as parameters in the optical simulations. Through the use of LightTools, an optical software package, optical simulation was built for different modules in each of the LCD panel layers and optical simulation analysis was performed on the overall structure of the TFT-LCD panel. Results from the simulation analysis were compared with experimental results from scanning illumination measurement. The disparity between simulated and experimental values was less than 13%, ensuring the rationality and accuracy of the optical simulation. 相似文献
