Geometric Properties of Symmetric Spaces with Applications to Orlicz–Lorentz Spaces

We deal with the basic convexity properties –rotundity, and uniform, local uniform and full rotundity –- for symmetric spaces. A characterization of Orlicz–Lorentz spaces with the Kadec–Klee property for pointwise convergence is given. These results are applied to obtain criteria of convexity properties for Orlicz–Lorentz sequence spaces, and some new proofs of the sufficiency part of criteria for rotundity and uniform rotundity for Orlicz–Lorentz function spaces.     

Uniform Gateaux differentiability and weak uniform rotundity in Musielak-Orlicz function spaces of Bochner type equipped with the Luxemburg norm

Criteria for weak uniform rotundity and reflexivity of Musielak-Orlicz function spaces of Bochner type equipped with the Luxemburg norm are given. Although, criteria for uniform Gateaux differentiability and weak uniform rotundity of Musielak-Orlicz function spaces of real functions equipped with the Luxemburg norm were known, they can be also easily deduced from our main results.

首先引入局部凸空间的k-一致极凸性和k-一致极光滑性这一对对偶概念,它们既是Banach空间k-一致极凸性和k-一致极光滑性推广,又是局部凸空间一致极凸性和一致极光滑性的自然推广.其次讨论它们与其它k-凸性(k-光滑性)之间的关系.最后,在P-自反的条件下给出它们之间的等价对偶定理.     

ON COMPLETENESS OF MUSIELAK-ORLICZ SPACES

The paper deals with completeness theorems on Musielak-Orlicz spaces of vector valued functions. Generally speaking, those spaces are not assumed to be locally convex. There are given sufficient conditions for the Musielak-Orlicz space to be complete in terms of the function $\[\Phi \]$.

为研究度量线性空间中凸集的逼近性质，Ｇ．Ｃ．Ａｈｕｊａ等引起了度量线性空间的严格凸性及一致凸性的定义。本文证明了完备的一致凸的度量线性空间是自反的。同时，作为应用，研究了最佳联合逼近元的存在性与唯一性问题。

给出局部凸空间的（弱）中点局部一致凸性,证明了它与（弱）中点局部一致光滑性具有对偶性质,讨论它们与其它凸性之间的关系,推广了Banach空间相应概念和结果.     

Infinite Dimensional Geometric Properties of Real Interpolation Spaces

Estimates for the moduli of noncompact convexity of l_p-sums and real interpolation spaces for finite families of spaces are given. It is proved that such an interpolation preserves nearly uniform convexity and property (β).     

On uniformly convex functions

Non-convex functions that yet satisfy a condition of uniform convexity for non-close points can arise in discrete constructions. We prove that this sort of discrete uniform convexity is inherited by the convex envelope, which is the key to obtain other remarkable properties such as the coercivity. Our techniques allow to retrieve Enflo's uniformly convex renorming of super-reflexive Banach spaces as the regularization of a raw function built from trees. Among other applications, we provide a sharp estimation of the distance of a given function to the set of differences of Lipschitz convex functions. Finally, we prove the equivalence of several possible ways to quantify the super weakly noncompactness of a convex subset of a Banach space.

Criteria for monotonicity properties of Musielak-Orlicz spaces equipped with the Amemiya norm

Criteria for strict monotonicity, lower local uniform monotonicity, upper local uniform monotonicity, and uniform monotonicity of Musielak-Orlicz spaces over any σ-finite and complete measure space, endowed with the Amemiya norm are given. The fact that the spaces are considered over arbitrary σ-finite measure space is essential because, as it is shown in Example 3, the Musielak-Orlicz spaces need not be strictly monotone even if their restrictions to the nonatomic part and the purely atomic part are strictly monotone.

Topological convexities, selections and fixed points

A convexity on a set X is a family of subsets of X which contains the whole space and the empty set as well as the singletons and which is closed under arbitrary intersections and updirected unions. A uniform convex space is a uniform topological space endowed with a convexity for which the convex hull operator is uniformly continuous. Uniform convex spaces with homotopically trivial polytopes (convex hulls of finite sets) are absolute extensors for the class of metric spaces; if they are completely metrizable then a continuous selection theorem à la Michael holds. Upper semicontinuous maps have approximate selections and fixed points, under the usual assumptions.

Uniform convexity and the splitting problem for selections

We continue to investigate cases when the Repovš–Semenov splitting problem for selections has an affirmative solution for continuous set-valued mappings. We consider the situation in infinite-dimensional uniformly convex Banach spaces. We use the notion of Polyak of uniform convexity and modulus of uniform convexity for arbitrary convex sets (not necessary balls). We study general geometric properties of uniformly convex sets. We also obtain an affirmative solution of the splitting problem for selections of certain set-valued mappings with uniformly convex images.

致力于随机一致凸性概念的进一步探讨．首先,通过一个特殊的层次剖分指出对任意的随机赋范模而言随机凸性模都有良好定义,从而改进了近期的文献中许多已知的结果．然后,提出并研究了一种与随机一致凸性密切相关的新性质,从一个新的角度阐述了随机一致凸性的复杂性．
