SUPERCATEGORIES OF THE CATEGORY OF NEARNESS SPACES

Abstract

The framework in which nearness spaces were defined by H. Herrlich [1] and [2], leads one to consider the supercategory Pow of the category Near of nearness spaces, having as objects all pairs (X,ξ), where X is a set and ξ ? P(P(X)) is any subset of the power set of the power set of X, and as morphisms f: (X,ξ) → (Y,n) all functions f: X → Y such that, if A ? ξ then fA □ {f(A) | A ξ A} ? η. In this paper we show that the full subcategories of Pow comprising the objects satisfying subsets of the prenearness space axioms lie in a lattice of bireflections or bicoreflections. This serves as a first step towards the aim of characterizing all bireflective (resp. bicoreflective) and even all initially complete subcategories of Pow.

GRAPHIC EXTENSIONS OF MAPPINGS

ABSTRACT

Given a mapping f: X → Y and an extension e: X → [Xtilde] of X, the restriction of the projection Π: [Xtilde] X Y → Y to the closure of the graph of f in [Xtilde] X Y is called the graphic extension of f with respect to e. It is shown that this approach is widely applicable to various types of topological extensions of mappings found in the literature and often gives simpler proofs of their existence, properties, and results relating to them.

THE NORMALITY OF CAYLEY GRAPHS OF SIMPLE GROUP A5 WITH SMALL VALENCIES

Let G be a finite group and S a subset of G not containing the identity element 1. We define the Cayley (di)graph X = Cay(G, S) of G with respect to S by V(X) = G,E(X) = {(g, sg) [ g ∈ G, s ∈ S}. A Cayley (di)graph X = Cay(G, S) is called normal if GR A = Aut(X). In this paper we prove that if S = {a, b, c} is a 3-generating subset of G = A5 not containing the identity 1, then X = Cay(G, S) is a normal Cayley digraph.     

THE EXISTENCE OF OVERLARGE SETS OF IDEMPOTENT QUASIGROUPS

A idempotent quasigroup (Q, o) of order n is equivalent to an n(n-1)×3 partial orthogonal array in which all of rows consist of 3 distinct elements. Let X be a (n+1)-set. Denote by T(n+1) the set of (n+1)n(n-1) ordered triples of X with the property that the 3 coordinates of each ordered triple are distinct. An overlarge set of idempotent quasigroups of order n is a partition of T(n+1) into n+1 n(n-1)×3 partial orthogonal arrays A_x, x∈X based on X\{x}. This article gives an almost complete solution of overlarge sets of idempotent quasigroups.

函数空间上的Cauchy收敛拓扑(英文)

本文研究了度量空间X到实直线R上的连续函数空间C(X,R)上的Cauchy收敛拓扑Tc.u,点态收敛拓扑Tp.u,紧开拓扑Tk和一致收敛拓扑Tu相等的等价条件.利用Cauchy覆盖得到了(C(X,R),Tc.u)的特征与X的Cauchy覆盖数相等的一个对偶定理,获得了(C(X,R),Tc.u)可度量化当且仅当(C(X,R),Tc.u)是第一可数的当且仅当X具有可数Cauchy覆盖数,肯定地回答了Michael H Clapp等在文献[1]中提到的问题.     

关于周期吸附系统的分布混沌的注记

设X是一个紧致度量空间,f X→X是一个连续映射.若存在f的一个m-周期点p和另一个m'-周期点q(p≠q),使得对任意非空开集V(C)X,都有{p,q}(C)∞ Un=0fn(V),则称动力系统(X,f)是一个(m,m')型周期吸附系统.证明了:1)若(X,f)是一个(m,m')型周期吸附系统且X是自密的,则对任一给定的正整数k,存在一个fk的的分布混沌集S,使得S与X的任一非空开集之交均含有一个Cantor集;2)若(X,f)是一个(m,m')型周期吸附系统且拓扑共轭于(X ',f'),则(X ',f')也是一个(m,m')型周期吸附系统.改进和推广了已有结果.     

IDEAL STRUCTURE OF UNIFORM ROE ALGEBRAS OVER SIMPLE CORES

This paper characterizes ideal structure of the uniform Roe algebra B*(X) over simple cores X. A necessary and sufficient condition for a principal ideal of B*(X) to be spatial is given and an example of non-spatial ideal of B*(X) is constructed. By establishing an one-one correspondence between the ideals of B* (X) and the ω-filters on X, the maximal ideals of B*(X) are completely described by the corona of the Stone-Cech compactification of X.     

THE DYADIC DERIVATIVE AND CESARO MEAN OF BANACH-VALUED MARTINGALES

In this article, the Banach space X and the martingales with values in it are considered. It is shown that the maximal operators of the one-dimensional dyadic derivative of the dyadic integral and Cesaro means are bounded from the dyadic Hardy- Lorentz space pH^-ra（X） to Lra（X） when X is isomorphic to a p-uniformly smooth space （1 〈p ≤ 2）. And it is also bounded from Hra（X） to Lra（X） （0 〈 r 〈 ∞,0 〈 a≤oc） when X has Radon-Nikodym property. In addition, some weak-type inequalities are given.     

关于凸算子的广义Frechet可微性

本文得到如下结果：设F为从自反的Banaeh空间层到Banaeh格空间X的育有界凸算子，假若(i)X与X^*皆弱紧的区间；(ii)X有范紧区间，则F在层的某个稠子集Gδ的每一点都是Frechet可微的，推广了实值凸函数的有关结论．     

集值随机过程的投影

本文研究了集值可积变差随机过程的可选和可料对偶投影．当Ｂａｎａｃｈ空间Ｘ具有ＲＮＰ,其对偶空间Ｘ＊可分时,证明了Ｐｗｋｃ（Ｘ）值的可积变差过程存在唯一的可选和可料对偶投影．最后讨论了集值随机过程对偶投影的性质．     

ISOLATED POINTS OF THE APPROXIMATE POINT SPECTRUM OF CERTAIN LATTICE HOMOMORPHISMS ON Co (X)

Abstract

Suppose X is a locally compact Hausdorff space and C (X) the apace of all continuous complex valued functions on X which vanish at infinity. Let T be a (complex) linear lattice homomorphism on C_o (X) whose adjoint is also a lattice homomorphism. It is sham that every non-zero isolated point of the approximate point spectrum of T lies in the point spectrum of T. An example is given to show that the exclusion of zero is necessary, even when X is compact. The same techniques are then used to show that if also the spectrum of T is finite then T can be written, in a natural manner, as a direct sum of two such lattice homomorphisms; one being an n'th root of an invertible multiplication operator and the other quasi-nilpotent.
