二阶半线性奇摄动边值问题的渐近解

研究不满足法向双曲条件的二阶半线性非自治奇摄动Dirichlet边值问题.首先,利用边界层函数法,构造了问题在两个区间端点的代数边界层,获得了形式渐近解;接着,利用上下解方法,证明了解的存在性、渐近解的一致有效性以及渐近解与精确解之间的误差估计.研究表明:通过对奇异摄动参数进行适当的尺度变换,一定条件下可处理任意退化的二阶半线性非自治奇摄动边值问题.最后,通过一个典型例子验证了理论结果的正确性.     

一类拟线性椭圆型方程Robin问题的奇摄动

In view of singularly perturbed problems with complex inner layer phenomenon,including contrast structures(step-step solution and spike-type solution),corner layer behavior and right-hand side discontinuity,we carry out the process with sewing connection.The presented method of sewing connection for singularly perturbed equations is based on the two points singularly perturbed simple boundary problems.By means of sewing orbit smoothness,we get the uniformly valid solution in the whole interval.It is easy to prove the existence of solutions and deal with the high dimensional singularly perturbed problems.     

Piecewise shooting reproducing kernel method for linear singularly perturbed boundary value problems

In this letter, a new numerical method is proposed for solving second order linear singularly perturbed boundary value problems with left layers. Firstly a piecewise reproducing kernel method is proposed for second order linear singularly perturbed initial value problems. By combining the method and the shooting method, an effective numerical method is then proposed for solving second order linear singularly perturbed boundary value problems. Two numerical examples are used to show the effectiveness of the present method.

Finite Element Analysis for Mass-Lumped Three-Step Taylor Galerkin Method for Time Dependent Singularly Perturbed Problems with Exponentially Fitted Splines

The motive of the current study is to derive pointwise error estimates for the three-step Taylor Galerkin finite element method for singularly perturbed problems. Pointwise error estimates have not been derived so far for the said method in the finite element framework. Singularly perturbed problems represent a class of problems containing a very sharp boundary layer in their solution. A small parameter called singular perturbation parameter is multiplied with the highest order derivative terms. When this parameter becomes smaller and smaller, a boundary layer occurs and the solution changes very abruptly in a very small portion of the domain. Because of this sudden change in the nature of the solution, it becomes very difficult for the numerical methods to capture the solution accurately specially in the boundary layer region. In the present study finite element analysis has been carried out for such one-dimensional singularly perturbed time dependent convection-diffusion equations. Exponentially fitted splines have been used for the three-step Taylor Galerkin finite element method to converge. Pointwise error estimates have been derived for the method and it is shown that the method is conditionally convergent of first order accurate in space and third order accurate in time. Numerical results have been presented for both the linear and nonlinear problems.

Certain singularly perturbed differential equations which exhibit boundary layer resonance are difficult to solve by the application of standard asymptotic methods. After reformulation as a singularly perturbed integral equation and treatment by a recently developed asymptotic methodology, the desired solution is obtained in a straightforward manner.
