Core-shell-structured LiNi0.5La0.08Fe1.92O4-polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites with magnetic behavior were synthesized by in situ polymerization of aniline in the presence of LiNi0.5La0.08Fe1.92O4 nanoparticles. The structure, morphology and magnetic properties of samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), UV-vis absorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) technique. The results of spectroanalysis indicated that there was interaction between PANI chains and ferrite particles. TEM study showed that LiNi0.5La0.08Fe1.92O4-PANI nanocomposites presented a core-shell structure with a magnetic core of 30-50 nm diameter and an amorphous shell of 10-20 nm thickness. The nanocomposites under applied magnetic field exhibited the hysteresis loops of the ferromagnetic nature. The saturation magnetization and coercivity of nanocomposites decreased with decreasing content of LiNi0.5La0.08Fe1.92O4. The polymerization mechanism and bonding interaction in the nanocomposites have been discussed.  相似文献

Magnetoelectric (ME) nanocomposites containing Ni0.75Co0.25Fe2O4-BiFeO3 phases were prepared by citrate sol-gel process. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed phase formation of xNi0.75Co0.25Fe2O4-(1−x)BiFeO3 (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4) composites on heating at 700 °C. Transmission electron microscopy revealed the formation of powders of nano order size and the crystal size was found to vary from 30 to 85 nm. Dispersion in dielectric constant (ε) and dielectric loss (tan δ) in the low-frequency range have been observed. It is seen that nanocomposites exhibit strong magnetic properties and a large ME effect. On increasing Ni0.75Co0.25Fe2O4 contents in the nanocomposites, the saturation magnetization (MS) and coercivity (HC) increased after annealing at 700 °C. The large ME output in the nanocomposites exhibits strong dependence on magnetic bias and magnetic field frequency. The large value of ME output can be attributed to small grain size of ferrite phase of nanocomposite being prepared by citrate precursor process.  相似文献

In this study, the effect of silane treatment of Fe3O4 on the magnetic and wear properties of Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites was investigated. Fe3O4 nanopowders were prepared by coprecipitation of iron(II) chloride tetrahydrate with iron(III) chloride hexahydrate, and the surfaces of Fe3O4 were modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. The magnetic properties of the powders were measured on unmodified and surface-modified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites using SQUID magnetometer. Wear tests were performed on unmodified and surface-modified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites under the same conditions (sliding speed: 0.18 m/s, load: 20 N).The results showed that the saturation magnetization (Ms) of surface-modified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites was approximately 110% greater than that of unmodified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites. This showed that the specific wear rate of surface-modified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites was lower than that of unmodified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites. The decrease in wear rate and the increase in magnetic properties of surface-modified Fe3O4/epoxy nanocomposites occurred due to the improved dispersion of Fe3O4 into the epoxy matrix.  相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs)-based magnetic nanocomposites can find numerous applications in nanotechnology, integrated functional system, and in medicine owing to their great potentialities. Herein, densely distributed magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were successfully attached onto the convex surfaces of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by an in situ polyol-medium solvothermal method via non-covalent functionalization of CNTs with cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), and anionic polyelectrolyte, poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS), through the polymer-wrapping technique, in which the negatively charged PSS-grafted CNTs can be used as primer for efficiently adsorption of positively metal ions on the basis of electrostatic attraction. X-ray diffractometry (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis have been used to study the formation of Fe3O4/CNTs. The Fe3O4/CNTs nanocomposites were proved to be superparamagnetic with saturation magnetization of 43.5 emu g?1. A mechanism scheme was proposed to illustrate the formation process of the magnetic nanocomposites.  相似文献

We synthesized Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites through a combination of solvothermal, hydrothermal, and chemical redox reactions. Characterization of the resulting samples by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, field-emission scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and magnetic measurement is reported. Compared to Fe3O4@Ag nanocomposites, the Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites showed enhanced antibacterial activity. The Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites were able to almost entirely prevent growth of Escherichia coli when the concentration of Ag nanoparticles was 10 μg/mL. Antibacterial activity of the Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites was maintained for more than 40 h at 37 °C. The intermediate carbon layer not only protects magnetic core, but also improves the dispersion and antibacterial activity of the silver nanoparticles. The magnetic core can be used to control the specific location of the antibacterial agent (via external magnetic field) and to recycle the residual silver nanoparticles. The Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites will have potential uses in many fields as catalysts, absorbents, and bifunctional magnetic-optical materials.  相似文献

In this paper, fluorescent-magnetic Fe3O4@LaF3:Ce,Tb nanocomposites were synthesized by combining fluorescent LaF3:Ce,Tb and magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles into new ‘two-in-one’ entities. The obtained Fe3O4@LaF3:Ce,Tb nanocomposites were small (about 30 nm in diameter) and well dispersed in water. Under ultraviolet light irradiation, the Fe3O4@LaF3:Ce,Tb nanocomposites emitted bright green fluorescence, and they could be easily manipulated by an external magnetic field. Such bifunctional nanocomposites may find many biomedical applications, such as cancer detection and drug delivery. And the method we used can be extended to the synthesis of other nanocomposites based on lanthanide-doped materials and metal oxides.  相似文献

Three kinds of magnetic particle (water-based NiZn ferrite fluid, water-based Fe3O4 magnetic fluid, and silicon-oil-based Fe3O4 magnetic fluid)/polyaniline nanocomposites were prepared in this study. The samples, after drying and grinding, were characterized by infrared spectrometry (IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-vis, scanning electron microscope (SEM); their electromagnetic properties were also measured. The conductivitiy of the resulting water-based NiZn ferrite/polyaniline nanocomposites (WBNiZnFe/PA) was the greatest, reaching 0.094 s/cm, while the conductivitiy for water-based Fe3O4 magnetic particle/polyaniline nanocomposites (WBFe3O4/PA) was the lowest, reaching only 0.068 s/cm. The saturation magnetization for WBFe3O4/PA was the greatest, being 1.5 emu/g, while the saturation magnetization for WBNiZnFe/PA was the lowest, being only 0.8 emu/g. The coercivity of all magnetic particle/polyaniline nanocomposites was about He = 200 Oe.  相似文献

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were synthesized by the co-precipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+ with ammonium hydroxide. The sodium citrate-modified Fe3O4 MNPs were prepared under Ar protection and were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). To improve the oxidation resistance of Fe3O4 MNPs, a silica layer was coated onto the modified and unmodified MNPs by the hydrolysis of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) at 50 °C and pH 9. Afterwards, the silica-coated Fe3O4 core/shell MNPs were modified by oleic acid (OA) and were tested by IR and VSM. IR results revealed that the OA was successfully grafted onto the silica shell. The Fe3O4/SiO2 core/shell MNPs modified by OA were used to prepare water-based ferrofluids (FFs) using PEG as the second layer of surfactants. The properties of FFs were characterized using a UV-vis spectrophotometer, a Gouy magnetic balance, a laser particle size analyzer and a Brookfield LVDV-III+ rheometer.  相似文献

In this paper, a facile synthesis process is proposed to prepare multiwalled carbon nanotubes/magnetite (MWCNTs/Fe3O4) hybrids. The process involves two steps: (1) water-soluble CNTs are synthesized by one-pot modification using potassium persulfate (KPS) as oxidant. (2) Fe3O4 is assembled along the treated CNTs by employing a facile hydrothermal process with the presence of hydrazine hydrate as the mineralizer. The treated CNTs can be easily dispersed in aqueous solvent. Moreover, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis reveals that several functional groups such as potassium carboxylate (-COOK), carbonyl (-CO) and hydroxyl (-C-OH) groups are formed on the nanotube surfaces. The MWCNTs/Fe3O4 hybrids are characterized with respect to crystal structure, morphology, element composition and magnetic property by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), XPS and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer. XRD and TEM results show that the Fe3O4 nanoparticles with diameter in the range of 20-60 nm were firmly assembled on the nanotube surface. The magnetic property investigation indicated that the CNTs/Fe3O4 hybrids exhibit a ferromagnetic behavior and possess a saturation magnetization of 32.2 emu/g. Further investigation indicates that the size of assembled Fe3O4 nanoparticles can be turned by varying experiment factors. Moreover, a probable growth mechanism for the preparation of CNTs/Fe3O4 hybrids was discussed.  相似文献

Methods to synthesize magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles and to modify the surface of particles are presented in the present investigation. Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+, NH3·H2O was used as the precipitating agent to adjust the pH value, and the aging of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles was accelerated by microwave (MW) irradiation. The obtained Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The average size of Fe3O4 crystallites was found to be around 8–9 nm. Thereafter, the surface of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles was modified by stearic acid. The resultant sample was characterized by FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), XRD, lipophilic degree (LD) and sedimentation test. The FT-IR results indicated that a covalent bond was formed by chemical reaction between the hydroxyl groups on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles and carboxyl groups of stearic acid, which changed the polarity of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The dispersion of Fe3O4 in organic solvent was greatly improved. Effects of reaction time, reaction temperature and concentration of stearic acid on particle surface modification were investigated. In addition, Fe3O4/polystyrene (PS) nanocomposite was synthesized by adding surface modified Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles into styrene monomer, followed by the radical polymerization. The obtained nanocomposite was tested by thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and XRD. Results revealed that the thermal stability of PS was not significantly changed after adding Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The Fe3O4 magnetic fluid was characterized using UV–vis spectrophotometer, Gouy magnetic balance and laser particle-size analyzer. The testing results showed that the magnetic fluid had excellent stability, and had susceptibility of 4.46×10−8 and saturated magnetization of 6.56 emu/g. In addition, the mean size d (0.99) of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the fluid was 36.19 nm.  相似文献

NiFe2O4/SiO2 nanocomposites were prepared using a sol–gel method with the addition of 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APS). Different phases and morphologies of NiFe2O4/SiO2 nanocomposites were obtained when different amounts of APS were used. The structural properties of the products were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Sheet-like morphology was observed at higher molar ratio of APS to NiFe2O4, while spherical NiFe2O4/SiO2 nanoparticles separated from each other were formed at lower molar ratio of APS to NiFe2O4. The magnetic properties of the nanocomposites were also investigated, indicating that the interparticle interactions exhibit strong dependence on the molar ratio of APS to NiFe2O4.  相似文献

A series of samples ZnxFe3−xO4 have been prepared by the chemical coprecipitation technique and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). XRD demonstrates all the samples of ZnxFe3−xO4 have a spinel structure same as Fe3O4. The magnetic hysteresis loops of ZnxFe3−xO4 obtained from VSM indicate that the saturation magnetization has a maximum when x is ∼1/3. The chemical states of Fe atoms and Zn atoms in zinc ferrites have been measured using XPS and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). The Fe 2p core-level XPS spectra and Zn L3M45M45 Auger peaks have been analyzed and the results have been discussed in correlation with the samples’ magnetic properties. These results suggest most of Zn atoms occupy the tetrahedral sites and a small amount of them occupy the octahedral sites.  相似文献

Fe3O4 thin films were prepared successfully by using the rf-sputtering technique with Fe2O3 target. The inverse spinel structure of the film was determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the single phase of the Fe3O4 was confirmed by the XPS measurements. The surface roughness increases with the increase of the partial pressure of hydrogen. A high saturated magnetic field, 5000 Oe, implies that there exist the antiphase boundaries (APBs) in the film. The higher coercive filed below TV is ascribed to the lower symmetry of the monoclinic structure. The temperature dependence of resistance shows a very clear Verwey transition and it is implied that the electrical transport behavior follows the variable-range hopping (VRH) mechanism from 40 to 300 K. The current vs. voltage curves of Fe3O4/Si Schottky heterojunction exhibits good rectifying property. The ideality factor and Schottky barrier height were obtained from the fitting curves calculated by the standard thermionic emission/diffusion model.  相似文献

Fe3O4 nanoparticle/organic hybrids were synthesized via hydrolysis using iron (III) acetylacetonate at ∼80 °C. The synthesis of Fe3O4 was confirmed by X-ray diffraction, selected-area diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the organic matrix had diameters ranging from 7 to 13 nm depending on the conditions of hydrolysis. The saturation magnetization of the hybrid increased with an increase in the particle size. When the hybrid contained Fe3O4 particles with a size of less than 10 nm, it exhibited superparamagnetic behavior. The blocking temperature of the hybrid containing Fe3O4 particles with a size of 7.3 nm was 200 K, and it increased to 310 K as the particle size increased to 9.1 nm. A hybrid containing Fe3O4 particles of size greater than 10 nm was ferrimagnetic, and underwent Verwey transition at 130 K. Under a magnetic field, a suspension of the hybrid in silicone oil revealed the magnetorheological effect. The yield stress of the fluid was dependent on the saturation magnetization of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the hybrid, the strength of the magnetic field, and the amount of the hybrid.  相似文献

Fe3O4 nanoparticles were hydrothermally synthesized under continuous microwave irradiation from FeCl3·6H2O and FeSO4·7H2O aqueous solutions, using NH4OH as precipitating reagent and N2H4·H2O as oxidation-resistant reagent. The results of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), FT–IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements showed that the synthesized magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles had an average diameter of 10 nm. The magnetic properties of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles were measured using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), indicating that the nanoparticles possessed high saturation magnetization at room temperature. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles were used to prepare magnetic fluids (MFs) based on water, and the properties of the MFs were characterized by a Gouy magnetic balance, a capillary rheometer and a rotating rheometer, respectively.  相似文献

CoAl0.2Fe1.8O4/SiO2 nanocomposites were prepared by sol–gel method. The effects of annealing temperature on the structure and magnetic properties of the samples were studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The results show that the CoAl0.2Fe1.8O4 in the samples exhibits a spinel structure after being annealed. As annealing temperature increases from 800 to 1200 °C, the average grain size of CoAl0.2Fe1.8O4 in the nanocomposites increases from 5 to 41 nm while the lattice constant decreases from 0.8397 to 0.8391 nm, the saturation magnetization increases from 21.96 to 41.53 emu/g. Coercivity reaches a maximum of 1082 Oe for the sample annealed at 1100 °C, and thereafter decreases with further increasing annealing temperature. Mössbauer spectra show that the isomer shift decreases, hyperfine field increases and the samples transfer from mixed state of superparamagnetic and magnetic order to the completely magnetic order with annealing temperature increasing from 800 to 1200 °C.

Methods to synthesize magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles and to modify the nanoparticle surface are presented in this paper. In these methods, Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation, and the aging of nanoparticles was improved by applied magnetic field. The obtained nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Thereafter, to enhance the compatibility between nanoparticles and water, an effective surface modification method was developed by grafting acrylic acid onto the nanoparticle surface. FT-IR, XRD, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and thermogravimetry (TG) were used to characterize the resultant sample. The testing results indicated that the polyacrylic acid chains have been covalently bonded to the surface of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The effects of initiator dosage, monomer concentration, and reaction temperature on the characteristics of surface-modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles were investigated. Moreover, the Fe3O4-g-PAA hybrid nanoparticles were dispersed in water to form ferrofluids (FFs). The obtained FFs were characterized by UV–vis spectrophotometer, Gouy magnetic balance and laser particle-size analyzer. The testing results showed that the high-concentration FF had excellent stability, with high susceptibility and high saturation magnetization. The rheological properties of the FFs were also investigated using a rotating rheometer.  相似文献

Stimuli-responsive hydrogel nanocomposites comprised of swollen polymer networks, in which magnetic nanoparticles are embedded, are a relatively new class of “smart” soft materials presenting a significant impact on various technological and biomedical applications. A novel approach for the fabrication of hydrogel nanocomposites exhibiting temperature- and magneto-responsive behavior involves the random copolymerization of hexa(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (HEGMA, hydrophilic, thermoresponsive) and 2-(acetoacetoxy)ethyl methacrylate (AEMA, hydrophobic, metal-chelating) in the presence of preformed oleic-acid-coated magnetite nanoparticles (OA·Fe3O4). In total, two series of hydrogel nanocomposites have been prepared in two different solvent systems: ethyl acetate (series A) and tetrahydrofuran (series B). The degrees of swelling (DSs) of all conetworks were determined in organic and in aqueous media. The nanocrystalline phase adopted by the embedded magnetic nanoparticles was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy. The obtained diffraction patterns indicated the presence of magnetite (Fe3O4). Deswelling kinetic studies that were carried out at ∼60 °C in water demonstrated the thermoresponsive properties of the hydrogel nanocomposites, attributed to the presence of the hexaethylene glycol side chains within the conetworks. Moreover, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) measurements showed that these materials exhibited superior thermal stability compared to the pristine hydrogels. Further to the characterization of compositional and thermal properties, the assessment of magnetic characteristics by vibrational sample magnetometry (VSM) disclosed superparamagnetic behavior. The tunable superparamagnetic behavior exhibited by these materials depending on the amount of magnetic nanoparticles incorporated within the networks combined with their thermoresponsive properties may allow for their future exploitation in the biomedical field.  相似文献
