Josephson junctions were photogenerated in underdoped thin films of the YBa2Cu3O6+x family using a near-field scanning optical microscope. The observation of the Josephson effect for separations as large as 100 nm between two wires indicates the existence of an anomalously large proximity effect and shows that the underdoped insulating material in the gap of the junction is readily perturbed into the superconducting state. The critical current of the junctions was found to be consistent with the conventional Josephson relationship. This result appears to constrain the applicability of SO(5) theory to explain the phase diagram of high critical temperature superconductors.  相似文献

We have performed both Josephson and quasiparticle tunneling in vacuum tunnel junctions formed between a conventional superconducting scanning tunneling microscope tip and overdoped Bi_{2}Sr_{2}CaCu_{2}O_{8+delta} single crystals. A Josephson current is observed with a peak centered at a small finite voltage due to the thermal-fluctuation-dominated superconducting phase dynamics. Josephson measurements at different surface locations yield local values for the Josephson I_{C}R_{N} product. Corresponding energy gap measurements were also performed and a surprising inverse correlation was observed between the local I_{C}R_{N} product and the local energy gap.  相似文献

A large, reentrant, Josephson current is observed in SINIS (Nb/Al/AlOx/Al/AlOx/Al/Nb) junctions at a finite voltage close to Delta/e (where Delta is the superconducting energy gap in S) and a bias current exceeding the zero-voltage Josephson current. The effect is studied using a multiterminal device configuration. A theoretical interpretation in terms of quantized electron states in the N layer is provided.  相似文献

我们开展了高临界电流密度的NbN约瑟夫森结的制备和特性研究.利用直流磁控溅射方法在单晶MgO(100)衬底上外延生长NbN/AlN/NbN三层膜,并使用微加工工艺制备了NbN约瑟夫森隧道结,在液氦温度下对NbN约瑟夫森结的电流-电压特性进行了测量,实验结果表明,NbN约瑟夫森结具有良好的隧穿特性,其临界电流密度J_c为10 kA/cm^2,质量因子大于10,能隙是5.7 mV,这些实验结果为基于NbN结的超导数字电路研究奠定了坚实的基础.  相似文献

This paper theoretically studies Josephson spin current through triplet superconductor/ferromagnet/triplet superconductor junctions. At the ferromagnet/superconductor interfaces, the ferromagnetic scattering potential gives rise to coupling between the Andreev bound states and lifts their spin degeneracy. These spin-split Andreev states carry the Josephson spin current through the junctions. The generated spin supercurrent can be controlled by the magnetization of a ferromagnetic thin layer and bias voltage across the junctions.  相似文献

Full gap closing is a prerequisite for hosting Majorana zero modes in Josephson junctions on the surface of topological insulators.Previously,we have observed direct experimental evidence of gap closing in Josephson junctions constructed on Bi_2Te_3 surface.In this paper we report further investigations on the position dependence of gap closing as a function of magnetic flux in single Josephson junctions constructed on Bi_2Te_3 surface.  相似文献

We investigate spin transport in voltage-biased spin-active Josephson junctions. The interplay of spin filtering, spin mixing, and multiple Andreev reflection leads to nonlinear voltage dependence of the dc and ac spin current. We compute the voltage characteristics of the spin current (IS) for superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor Josephson junctions. The subharmonic gap structure of IS(V) is shown to be sensitive to the degree of spin mixing generated by the ferromagnetic interface, and exhibits a pronounced even-odd effect associated with spin transport during multiple Andreev reflection processes. For strong spin mixing both the magnitude and the direction of the dc spin current can be sensitively controlled by the bias voltage.  相似文献

This paper solves a self-consistent equation for the d-wave superconducting gap and the effective exchange field in the mean-field approximation, and studies the Zeeman effects on the d-wave superconducting gap and thermodynamic potential. The Josephson currents in the d-wave superconductor(S)/insulating layer(I)/d-wave S junctions are calculated as a function of the temperature, exchange field, and insulating barrier strength under a Zeeman magnetic field on the two d-wave Ss. It is found that the Josephson critical currents in d-wave S/d-wave S junction to a great extent depend on the relative orientation of the effective exchange field of the two S electrodes, and the crystal orientation of the d-wave S. The exchange field under certain conditions can enhance the Josephson critical current in a d-wave S/I/d-wave S junction.  相似文献

We have studied the current–voltage characteristic of a system of long Josephson junctions taking into account the inductive and capacitive coupling. The dependence of the average time derivative of the phase difference on the bias current and spatiotemporal dependences of the phase difference and magnetic field in each junction are considered. The possibility of branching of the current–voltage characteristic in the region of zero field step, which is associated with different numbers of fluxons in individual Josephson junctions, is demonstrated. The current–voltage characteristic of the system of Josephson junctions is compared with the case of a single junction, and it is shown that the observed branching is due to coupling between the junctions. The intensity of electromagnetic radiation associated with motion of fluxons is calculated, and the effect of coupling between junctions on the radiation power is analyzed.  相似文献

We present the first observation of the dc and ac Josephson effect in MgB(2) break junctions. The junctions, obtained at 4.2 K in high-quality, high-density polycrystalline metallic MgB(2) samples, show a nonhysteretic dc Josephson effect. By irradiating the junctions with microwaves we observe clear Shapiro steps spaced by the ideal Delta V value. The temperature dependence of the dc Josephson current and the dependence of the height of the steps on the microwave power are obtained. These results directly prove the existence of pairs with charge 2e in MgB(2) and give evidence of the superconductor-normal metal-superconductor weak link character of these junctions.  相似文献

Facts are presented evidencing a strong electron-phonon interaction in doped BSCCO superconductors. A pronounced fine structure in dI/dV characteristics of Josephson junctions has been observed which is caused by interaction of AC Josephson current with Raman-active optical phonon modes. “Quantization” of the “gap” voltage for natural nanosteps on the cryogenically cleaved surfaces of BSCCO proves the existence of the intrinsic Josephson effect. A sharp extra structure in the current-voltage characteristics of nanosteps is attributed to the presence of the extended van Hove singularity.  相似文献

Electromagnetic transport measurements were combined with high-resolution electron microscopy observations to study the relation between structure and local critical currents in YBa2Cu3O7–x (YBCO) Josephson junctions. The spatial variation of the critical current J(x) along the length of the boundary for interface engineered Josephson junctions and bicrystal grain boundary Josephson junctions was determined using a phase retrieval algorithm. The current distribution solutions were found to be highly uniform along the length of interface engineered junctions in contrast to solutions for grain boundary junctions. The latter showed significant spatial oscillations in the critical current as well as areas along the boundary that carried no current. Microstructural evaluation of interface engineered junctions fabricated using identical processing parameters to the junctions used for transport measurements suggest that the uniform current distribution is controlled by a highly uniform barrier layer formed between the superconducting electrodes. Microstructural evaluation of grain boundary junctions similar to the junctions used for transport measurements show considerable variations of the grain boundary structure within a single junction.  相似文献

The Josephson currents in s-wave superconductor/ferromagnet insulator/p-wave superconductor(s/FI/p) junctions are calculated as a function of temperature and the phase taking into account the roughness scattering effect at interface. The phase dependence of the Josephson current I (φ) between s-wave and px-wave superconductor is predicted to be sin(2φ). The ferromagnet scattering effect, the barrier strength, and the roughness strength at interface suppress the dc currents in s/FI/p junction.  相似文献

Phase dynamics of a stack of coupled intrinsic Josephson junctions was investigated in the framework of capacitively coupled Josephson junctions with diffusion current model. We study the transition from the current-voltage characteristic specific to Josephson junctions arrays with small dissipation and weak coupling between the junctions to the arrays with strong coupling between the junctions and high dissipation. Low dissipative arrays of Josephson junctions are characterized by the absence of branching for overcritical currents which appears for highly dissipative arrays. Described branching appears due to charging on the superconducting layers and charge traveling waves generation. Arrays of Josephson junctions with intermediate values of coupling and dissipation parameters are characterized by the chaotic behavior, confirmed by positive Lyapunov exponent, and branching on the current voltage characteristic for both sub- and overcritical currents.  相似文献

In the classical Josephson effect the phase difference across the junction is well defined, and the supercurrent is reduced only weakly by phase diffusion. For mesoscopic junctions with small capacitance the phase undergoes large quantum fluctuations, and the current is also decreased by Coulomb blockade effects. We discuss the behavior of the current–voltage characteristics in a large range of parameters comprising the phase diffusion regime with coherent Josephson current as well as the supercurrent peak due to incoherent Cooper pair tunneling in the Coulomb blockade regime.  相似文献

The dc Josephson effect in superconductor / insulator / normal metal / insulator/ferromagnetic superconductor junctions has been studied. We calculate the de Josephson current based on the Bogoliubov de Gennes equation. The Josephson current is derived as a function of exchange field in ferromagnetic superconductor, normal metal thickness and insulating barrier strength. It is found that there exists an oscillation relation between the critical Josephson current and the normal metal thickness. Adjustable YBa2Cu3O7/PbSn point contact Josephson junctions are exposed to a microwave field. The current voltage characteristics of the junctions show microwave-induced constant voltage steps. The power dependence of the current width of the steps is well described by the Bessel function behaviour. This clearly demonstrates the presence of macroscopic quantum effects in the new highT c material.  相似文献
