The theory is presented for one method of determining the equivalent dielectric parameters of sand storms from microwave propagation measurement over a line of sight link. The method required the transmission of linear polarized or circle-polarized signal and attenuation measurement. The equivalent dielectric parameters of sandstorms determined at frequencies of 33.5 GHz and 93 GHz over a terrestrial link.  相似文献

A propagation experiment has been carried out at Penang using the SUPERBIRD-C satellite beacon. Cloud occurrences were observed during different months and it is seen that the low cloud occurrences over Penang is very significant from October to January. The cloud attenuation results that are presented, which include the testing of models, have been obtained from the data gathered over five years. The specific attenuation of radio wave due to clouds at various frequencies 12 GHz, 20 GHz, 75 GHz, 50 GHz and 100 GHz has been estimated whereby the values varies from 0.14 dB/km at 12 GHz to 10.1 dB/km at 100 GHz.  相似文献

运用光学方法,分析平面波通过无限大介质平板的传输特性,进而分析单层介质窗口的引入对微波传输性能的影响。在S波段微波源上对聚四氟乙烯材料进行了真空环境下的微波放电击穿实验,通过长时间的表面放电,在聚四氟乙烯材料表面出现电痕和电树枝。在100 ns脉冲宽度下,未发生大面积表面放电前,通过光学照相,在介质表面观测到局部放电现象,认为局部放电仍能导致材料表面破坏。作为对比,进行了聚苯乙烯材料的电老化实验,实验结果表明聚苯乙烯材料具有良好的耐电痕、耐电树枝老化特性。  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the microwave absorption properties of hydrogen plasma in iron-catalyzed highpressure disproportionation-grown carbon nanotubes under an external static magnetic field in the frequency range 0.3 GHz to 30 GHz, using the Maxwell equations in conjunction with a general expression for the effective complex permittivity of magnetized plasma known as the Appleton–Hartree formula. The effects of the external static magnetic field intensity and the incident microwave propagation direction on the microwave absorption of hydrogen plasma in CNTs are studied in detail. The numerical results indicate that the microwave absorption properties of hydrogen plasma in iron-catalyzed high-pressure disproportionation-grown carbon nanotubes can be obviously improved when the external static magnetic field is applied to the material. It is found that the specified frequency microwave can be strongly absorbed by the hydrogen plasma in iron-catalyzed high-pressure disproportionation-grown carbon nanotubes over a wide range of incidence angles by adjusting the external magnetic field intensity and the parameters of the hydrogen plasma.  相似文献

表面磁等离子体(surfacemagnetoplasmons,SMPs)是一种在电介质和偏置磁场作用下磁光材料界面处传播的近场电磁波.其独特的非互易传播特性引起了大量科研工作的关注,但在具体的波导结构设计上仍存在很多问题.本文研究了一种银-硅-磁光材料的3层平面波导结构,SMPs在磁光材料和硅的界面处传播,发现在特定的频率范围内,SMPs的基模及高阶模式均具有正向或反向的单向传播特性.分别计算了旋磁与旋电材料平面波导的色散方程,研究了硅层厚度与外加磁场对能带结构及SMPs单向传播区域的影响,发现无论是旋磁或旋电材料的结构,硅层厚度的增加使高阶模式使高阶模式出现在更低的频率位置,使单向传输带宽变小甚至消失,外加磁场的变大使磁光材料的能带结构频率增大的同时带隙中也引入了高阶模式.计算了2种磁光材料平面波导的正向和反向的单向传播带宽宽度,发现旋磁材料YIG的单向SMPs模式出现在GHz波段,最大单向带宽可达到2.45 GHz;旋电材料InSb的单向SMPs模式出现在THz波段,最大单向带宽达到3.9 THz.  相似文献

Based on radar range height indicator (RHI) measurements, cloud characteristics in relation to radiowave propagation over three locations in different geographical region in western Malaysia have been presented. It is seen that low cloud occurrence over these locations are quite significant. Cloud attenuation and noise temperature can result in serious degradation of telecommunication link performances. This paper presents cloud coverage in different months, 0°C isotherm height and cloud attenuation results at 12 GHz, 20 GHz, 36 GHz, 50 GHz, 70 GHz and 100 GHz over measurement site. The low level cloud over the measurement sites has been found to occur for many days and nights and particularly in the months of April to May and October to December. Such results are useful for satellite communication and remote sensing application in Malaysia.  相似文献

This paper presents results of superconducting microstrip transmission line simulation for the frequency range 100–1100 GHz. The simulation is used to calculate the characteristic impedance and the wave propagation constant in a superconducting microstrip line having different geometry. Indeed, modelling provides the only tool for designing superconducting microstrip-based circuits at millimetre and sub-millimetre wavelengths because no direct measurements of such a line can be made at this wavelengths and at cryogenic temperature of 4 K with ultimate accuracy. Niobium, as the most commonly exploited superconducting material, was used for the modelling, though the same approach would work for any different BCS superconductor. In order to evaluate the model accuracy, we have made an extensive comparison study of the superconducting microstrip models known from earlier publications, performed numerical simulations using 3D EM — solver, HFSS, and used a new model introduced in this paper with all simulation result plotted in the paper.  相似文献

A compact eight-channel flat spectral response arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexer based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) materials has been fabricated on the planar lightwave circuit (PLC). The 1-dB bandwidth of 48 GHz and 3-dB bandwidth of 69 GHz are obtained for the 100 GHz channel spacing. Not only non-adjacent crosstalk but also adjacent crosstalk are less than −25 dB. The on-chip propagation loss range is from 3.5 to 3.9 dB, and the total device size is 1.5 × 1.0 cm2.  相似文献

Optical imaging in the near-infrared (NIR) region provides the possibility to detect and determine pathological changes in human tissue without the drawback of ionizing radiation and with little technical and financial effort. Especially in rheumatoid arthritis, imaging by optical tomography to detect early inflammations in joints has the potential to become a supportive tool to common imaging modalities. One way to enhance the resolution and specificity of optical tissue characterization is to use the frequency domain instead of DC intensity measurement. Intensity modulation of a light source leads to propagation of diffuse photon-density waves (PDW) through the tissue. In this study, we report basic experimental results on tissuelike phantoms to determine the optimal parameters for PDW-transillumination of finger joints. We used PDW with modulation frequencies from 100 MHz up to 1 GHz to scan across a tissuelike phantom containing an absorbing plane bounded by an edge. The geometrical extents of the phantoms are similar to human finger joints. We measure the transmitted PDW and show that amplitude and phase behaves at the edge as expected according to theoretical predictions. An increasing modulation frequency leads to increasing slope of the amplitude decay at the edge but decreasing signal-to-noise ratio. Even at 1 GHz, the edge is detectable.  相似文献

The spectrum of exchange spin waves in a multilayer magnet is theoretically investigated without regard for dissipation upon periodic modulation of all magnetic material parameters (uniaxial anisotropy constant, exchange interaction constant, saturation magnetization, gyromagnetic ratio) entering into the Landau-Lifshitz equation. A graphical method is proposed for analyzing the dependence of the propagation of spin waves on the depth of modulation of the material parameters. Practical application of the results obtained and the effect of dissipation on the propagation of spin waves in the system are discussed.  相似文献

The field distribution of the surface plasmon (SP) around a silver nanowire greatly influences its applications for both spectrum enhancement and nano-waveguide. This paper demonstrates the change of the SP local field distribution of a silver nanowire on glass substrate with the refractive index of the covering medium by numerical simulation. The hot energy site is observed focusing on the interface between the nanowire and the surround material of larger refractive index. Moreover, we also find that the surface plasmon field becomes more confined as the refractive index between the substrate and medium has a larger gap, while a homogeneous distribution of the surrounding dielectric material around the nanowire shows a uniform local field distribution with a larger surface plasmon propagation length. The change of related parameters, such as effective index, mode area, and propagation length are also comprehensively investigated against the refractive index for nanowires with 100, 200, 300 nm diameter. Considering the wide use of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) material, the field distribution of silver nanowire partially imbedded in PMMA against the PMMA thickness is also studied.  相似文献

The propagation of guided elastic waves in a pre-stressed elastic compressible layer embedded in a different compressible material is examined. The waves propagate parallel to the planar layer interfaces as a superposed dynamic stress state on the statically pre-stressed layer and host material. The underlying stress condition in the two materials is characterized by equibiaxial in-plane deformations with common principal axes of strain, one of the axes being perpendicular to the layering. Both materials have arbitrary strain energy functions. The dispersion equation is derived in explicit form. Analysis of the dispersion equation reveals the propagation characteristics and their dependence on frequency, material parameters and stress parameters. Combinations of these parameters are also defined for which guided waves cannot propagate.  相似文献

A weibull raindrop-size distribution is fitted to the measurements of rainfall observed using a distrometer in Tokyo. A propagation experiment at 103 GHz is also introduced. The rain attenuation is calculated by considering the Mie scattering for the Marshall-Palmer, Best, Joss-Thomas-Waldvogel, Gamma and Weibull raindrop-size distributions. The results of frequency characteristics from the Weibull raindrop-size distribution agrees well with some experimental data for the millimeter and submillimeter waves above 30 GHz. The quick read table is calculated for the rain attenuation from 30 GHz to 1000 GHz.  相似文献

We introduce a new cascaded four-wave mixing technique that scales up the bandwidth of frequency combs generated by phase modulation of a continuous-wave (CW) laser while simultaneously enhancing the spectral flatness. As a result, we demonstrate a 10?GHz frequency comb with over 100?lines in a 10?dB bandwidth in which a record 75?lines are within a flatness of 1?dB. The cascaded four-wave mixing process increases the bandwidth of the initial comb generated by the modulation of a CW laser by a factor of five. The broadband comb has approximately quadratic spectral phase, which is compensated upon propagation in single-mode fiber, resulting in a 10?GHz train of 940?fs pulses.  相似文献

We have analyzed the possibility of determining the electron velocity using the data on propagation of a microwave low-power signal in a slow-wave system located in the region of electron beam formation. The diagnostic section is designed for implementing this method in an experimental gyrotron with a working frequency of 74.2 GHz and an output power of 100 kW. Numerical simulation shows that information on the longitudinal velocity of electrons can be obtained from an analysis of the frequency dependence of the amplification factor for a signal propagating in the slow-wave system at frequencies in the gigahertz range.  相似文献

使用平板几何对雷达工作频段的电磁波在磁化碰撞等离子体中的传播作了数值计算,计算结果表明,在均匀等离子体中,当等离子体碰撞频率f∞=0.1,0.5,1GHz及电磁波频率接近高混杂频率时,电磁波衰减和被吸收功率出现最大峰值,即出现共振吸收;当fen=1,10GHz时,电磁波衰减、被吸收功率和透射功率曲线变得很平坦;衰减和吸收功率随等离子体密度的增大而增大,在n=10^11cm^-3时,衰减可达100dB,吸收比可达80%。在非均匀等离子体中,电磁波的反射功率峰值比在均匀等离子体中大。因此,磁化均匀等郭了体更有利于等离子体隐身。  相似文献
