Tetrapyrazinoporphyrazine substituted at its periphery with eight antioxidant 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl groups behaves as a turn-on fluorescent sensor for fluoride anions. Conversely, the precursor antioxidant-substituted 1,2-phthalonitrile was found to act in turn-off mode suggesting that the origin of the phenomenon lies at the phenolate-substituted 1,4-pyrazinyl moiety.  相似文献

Mononuclear Ru(II)Polypyridyl complexes of type [Ru(A)2BPIIP] (ClO4)2.2H2O, where BPIIP?=?2-(3-(4-bromophenyl)isoxazole-5-yl)-1 H-imidazo [4,5-f] [1, 10] phenanthroline and A?=?bpy?=?bipyridyl (1), phen?=?1,10 Phenanthroline (2), dmb?=?4, 4' -dimethyl 2, 2'- bipyridine (3) & dmp?=?4,4'-dimethyl-1,10 –Ortho Phenanthroline (4), were synthesized and their antibacterial activity were examined. The synthesized complexes were characterized and their interaction with DNA was studied using Computational and Biophysical methods (Absorption, emission methods, and viscosity). Molecular modelling studies were carried out for molecular geometry and electronic properties (Frontier molecular orbital HOMO—LUMO). The electrostatic potential surface contours for the complexes were analysed to give their nucleophilic level of sensitivity. The study reveals that the Ru(II) Polypyridyl complexes bind to DNA preponderantly by intercalation. The results recommend that the phen and dmp complex have more effective binding ability than the bpy and dmb, indicating the role of the ancillary ligand in determining their specificity for DNA binding. Further molecular docking studies suggested an octahedral geometry and bind to DNA by preferential binding to Guanine. The docking study additionally sustains the binding constant data acquired with the absorption and emission techniques. The results reveal that the nature of the ancillary Ligand plays a considerable role for the intercalation of the Ru(II) polypyridyl complex to DNA, which subsequently influences the antibacterial activity. Biological studies conducted on Gram‐Negative (E.coli and K.pneumonia) and Gram-Positive (S. aureus and E. faecalis) bacteria establish that complex 1 and 2 were considerably active against S. aureus and E. coli.

The novel ligand (dmbip) 2-(4-N, N-dimethylbenzenamine)1H-imidazo[4, 5-f][1, 10]phenanthroline and its complexes [Ru(phen)2dmbip]2+ (1), [Ru(bpy)2dmbip]2+ (2), [Co(phen)2dmbip]3+ (3) and [Co(bpy)2dmbip]3+ (4) [where phen?=?1, 10-phenanthroline, bpy?=?2, 2-bipyridine], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectra. The DNA binding properties of the complexes were investigated by absorption, emission, quenching studies, light switch “on and off”, salt dependent, sensor (cation and anion) studies, viscosity measurements, cyclic voltammetry, molecular modeling and docking studies. The four complexes were screened for Photo cleavage of pBR322 DNA, antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity. The experimental results indicate that the four complexes can intercalate into DNA base pairs. The DNA-binding affinities of these complexes follow the order [Ru(phen)2dmbip]2+ > [Co(phen)2dmbip]3+ > [Ru(bpy)2dmbip]2+ > [Co(bpy)2dmbip]3+.  相似文献

Photoinduced electron transfer in a self-assembled single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT)-fullerene(C60) hybrid with SWNT acting as an electron donor and fullerene as an electron acceptor has been successfully demonstrated. Toward this, first, SWNTs were noncovalently functionalized using alkyl ammonium functionalized pyrene (Pyr-NH3+) to form SWNT/Pyr-NH3+ hybrids. The alkyl ammonium entity of SWNT/Pyr-NH3+ hybrids was further utilized to complex with benzo-18-crown-6 functionalized fullerene, crown-C60, via ammonium-crown ether interactions to yield SWNT/Pyr-NH3+/crown-C60 nanohybrids. The nanohybrids were isolated and characterized by TEM, UV-visible-near IR, and electrochemical methods. Free-energy calculations suggested possibility of electron transfer from the carbon nanotube to the singlet excited fullerene in the SWNT/Pyr-NH3+/crown-C60 nanohybrids. Accordingly, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence studies revealed efficient quenching of the singlet excited-state of C60 in the nanohybrids. Further studies involving nanosecond transient absorption studies confirmed electron transfer to be the quenching mechanism, in which the electron-transfer product, fullerene anion radical, was possible to spectrally characterize. The rates of charge separation, kCS, and charge recombination, kCR, were found to be 3.46 x 10(9) and 1.04 x 10(7) s-1, respectively. The calculated lifetime of the radical ion-pair was found to be over 100 ns, suggesting charge stabilization in the novel supramolecular nanohybrids. The present nanohybrids were further utilized to reduce hexyl-viologen dication (HV2+) and a sacrificial electron donor, 1-benzyl-1,4-dihydronicotinamide, in an electron-pooling experiment, offering additional proof for the occurrence of photoinduced charge-separation and potential utilization of these materials in light-energy harvesting applications.  相似文献

Oils play a putative choice for alleviating various symptoms associated with bone-related disorders. In this present study, polyurethane (PU) scaffold encompassing with Mahua oil (MO) and propolis (PP) were developed using the electrospinning technique. Morphological analysis showed the reduction in the diameter of the electrospun scaffold with blending of MO and MO/PP into the PU matrix. The strong interactions between PU, MO, and PP were evident through the infrared spectrum and thermal analysis. The wettability results showed the hydrophobic nature in electrospun PU/MO scaffold and hydrophilic behavior in electrospun PU/MO/PP scaffold. Mechanical testing indicated the enhancement in the strength of the PU due to the addition of MO and PP. Moreover, the fabricated scaffolds exhibited nontoxicity, low hemoglobin release and improved blood clotting time as evident in the coagulation studies. The cell proliferation studies showed the enhanced fibroblast cell adhesion in the developed nanocomposites than the pristine PU. Hence, the fabricated PU scaffolds blended with MO and PP having desirable properties can serve as a valuable candidate for bone tissue repair.  相似文献

An ammonium ion-crown ether interaction has been successfully used to construct porphyrin-single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) donor-acceptor hybrids. The [18]crown-6 to alkyl ammonium ion binding strategy resulted in porphyrin-SWNT nanohybrids that are stable and soluble in DMF. The porphyrin-SWNT hybrids were characterized by spectroscopic, TEM, and electrochemical techniques. Both steady-state and time-resolved emission studies revealed efficient quenching of the singlet excited state of the porphyrins and free-energy calculations suggested that electron-transfer quenching occurred. Nanosecond transient absorption spectral results supported the charge-separation quenching process. Charge-stabilization was also observed for the nanohybrids in which the lifetime of the radical ion pairs was around 100 ns. The present nanohybrids were also used to reduce the hexyl viologen dication (HV2+) and to oxidize 1-benzyl-1,4-dihydronicotinamide in solution in an electron-pooling experiment. Accumulation of the radical cation (HV.+) was observed in high yields, which provided additional proof for the occurrence of photoinduced charge separation. The present study demonstrates that a hydrogen-bonding motif is a successful self-assembly method to build SWNTs bearing donor-acceptor nanohybrids, which are useful for light-energy harvesting and photovoltaic applications.  相似文献

Molecular water-oxidation catalysts can deactivate by side reactions or decompose to secondary materials over time due to the harsh, oxidizing conditions required to drive oxygen evolution. Distinguishing electrode surface-bound heterogeneous catalysts (such as iridium oxide) from homogeneous molecular catalysts is often difficult. Using an electrochemical quartz crystal nanobalance (EQCN), we report a method for probing electrodeposition of metal oxide materials from molecular precursors. Using the previously reported [Cp*Ir(H(2)O)(3)](2+) complex, we monitor deposition of a heterogeneous water oxidation catalyst by measuring the electrode mass in real time with piezoelectric gravimetry. Conversely, we do not observe deposition for homogeneous catalysts, such as the water-soluble complex Cp*Ir(pyr-CMe(2)O)X reported in this work. Rotating ring-disk electrode electrochemistry and Clark-type electrode studies show that this complex is a catalyst for water oxidation with oxygen produced as the product. For the heterogeneous, surface-attached material generated from [Cp*Ir(H(2)O)(3)](2+), we can estimate the percentage of electroactive metal centers in the surface layer. We monitor electrode composition dynamically during catalytic turnover, providing new information on catalytic performance. Together, these data suggest that EQCN can directly probe the homogeneity of molecular water-oxidation catalysts over short times.  相似文献
