Synthesis of spiroindene-1,3-dione isothiazolines via a cascade michael/1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of 1,3,4-oxathiazol-2-one and 2-arylidene-1,3-indandiones

The reaction of 1,3,4-oxathiazol-2-one derivative with 2-arylidene-1,3-indandione to furnish novel spiroindene-1,3-dione isothiazoline derivatives by Michael/1,3-dipolar [3+2]-cycloaddition reaction was investigated. The key 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction step was examined in toluene solvent at reflux temperature to obtain mixture of two regioisomers (6a and 6b – 14a and 14b) and single isomers (15–20). The scope of this new reaction was demonstrated with many examples with high reactivity and yields.     

Large Time Asymptotics with Error Estimates to Solutions of a Forced Burgers Equation

This article deals with a forced Burgers equation (FBE) subject to the initial function, which is continuous and summable on . Large time asymptotic behavior of solutions to the FBE is determined with precise error estimates. To achieve this, we construct solutions for the FBE with a different initial class of functions using the method of separation of variables and Cole–Hopf like transformation. These solutions are constructed in terms of Hermite polynomials with the help of similarity variables. The constructed solutions would help us to pick up an asymptotic approximation and to show that the magnitude of the difference function of the true and approximate solutions decays algebraically to 0 for large time.     

Catalyst-free facile and efficient one-pot synthesis of densely functionalized pyrroles and α-amino ketones

An efficient catalyst-free one-pot three-component synthesis of penta-substituted pyrroles has been successfully developed. A variety of penta-substituted pyrroles were straightforwardly synthesized from good to excellent yields (78%–93%) by using easily accessible starting materials under mild conditions. This protocol also provided α-amino ketones in good yields (87%–98%) without column chromatography.     

Design,synthesis, and biological activity studies of a new class of sulfonated aurones: First synthesis of acidoaurone isolated from Phyllanthus acidus

A novel series of aurones were designed by introducing sulfonic acid group on ring-A and ring-B of known natural aurones such as hispidol, sulfuretin, maritimetin, and aureusidin. These sulfonated aurones were synthesized by a unique approach. Sulfonation on ring-A or ring-B converts water-insoluble aurones into highly water-soluble aurones. The sulfonated aurones were tested for their antioxidant, antiinflammatory, and AChE inhibition activities along with their natural aurones. Ring-A sulfonated aurones displayed higher antioxidant activity, 5-LOX, and AChE inhibition in comparison with their corresponding natural aurones. Ring-B sulfonated aurones exhibited potent 5-LOX inhibitory activity and significant antioxidant activity. Acidoaurone, a first sulfonated aurone isolated from Phyllanthus acidus was synthesized for the first time and was well characterized using NMR, LC–MS, and further confirmed by HMBC.     

Synthesis and Characterization of Related Compounds of Aripiprazole,an Antipsychotic Drug Substance

Three related compounds of aripiprazole were identified during the synthesis. These related compounds were synthesized and characterized by their respective spectral data.     

Characteristics of Heterophase Graft Copolymerizations

Abstract

Persulfate-initiated graft copolymerizations of glutaraldehyde crosslinked gelatin with acrylic acid, acrylamide, vinyl acetate, and methyl methacrylate in the aqueous phase were investigated. It was observed that percentage grafting, molecular weights of the grafts, and grafting efficiencies were greatly influenced by the nature of the monomers. Hydrophilic monomers gave a higher frequency of grafting but lower molecular weights. While the frequency of grafting with hydrophobic monomers was low, the molecular weights of the grafts were comparatively high. The results are explained in terms of microdomain kinetics, similar to those encountered in emulsion or suspension polymerizations.     

A simple efficient sequential one-pot intermolecular aza-Michael addition and intramolecular Buchwald–Hartwig α-arylation of amines: synthesis of functionalized tetrahydroisoquinolines

An efficient one-pot sequential intermolecular aza-Michael addition and Pd-catalyzed intramolecular Buchwald–Hartwig α-arylation of secondary amines have been investigated, for the synthesis of tetrahydroisoquinolines. This method is simple and furnished products in very good yield and also successfully applied for the synthesis of novel aza-spirotricylcic ethers.     

Iodine-catalyzed three-component one-pot synthesis of naphthopyranopyrimidines under solvent-free conditions

Iodine is found to be a highly efficient catalyst for the three-component coupling (3CC) of aldehydes, β-naphthol, and 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid under solvent-free conditions to afford the corresponding 8,10-dimethyl-12-aryl-12H-naphtho[1′,2′5,6]pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine-9,11-diones in good yields with high selectivity. The use of readily available iodine makes this method very simple, convenient, and cost-effective.
