Six new organotin(IV) carboxylates, [Me2SnL2] (1), [n-Bu2SnL2] (2), [n-Oct2SnL2] (3), [Me3SnL] (4), [n-Bu3SnL] (5) and [Ph3SnL] (6), where L = 3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2-methylacrylate, have been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, NMR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The synthesized compounds were tested for in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities. The complexes 4–6 demonstrated higher activity than the complexes 1–3. UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy indicated that the ligand and its complexes interacted with DNA via partial intercalation as well as minor groove binding.

An efficient voltammetric method was developed for the determination of maleic acid at a silver amalgam paste electrode (AgA‐PE) in Britton–Robinson buffer pH 2.0. The experimental parameters, such as pH of Britton–Robinson buffer, type of the supporting electrolyte and activation of the electrode surface were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, a linear response was observed over the 2×10?6–1×10?4 mol L?1 maleic acid concentration range, determination limit being 5×10?7 mol L?1. A highly stable response, with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 1.6% for 45 repetitive measurements of 1×10?4 mol L?1 maleic acid showed that there was no apparent surface passivation indicating the suitability of the method. The method was successfully applied for direct determination of maleic acid in drinking and river water.  相似文献

New bis-phthalimides were synthesized by 2: 1 condensation of phthalic anhydride and tetrachlorophthalic anhydride with 1,2,4-triazole-3,5-diamine, pyridine-2,6-diamine, and 4-hydroxypyrimidine- 2,6-diamine. The synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analyses and IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectra. Their interaction with calf thymus DNA (ct-DNA) was studied by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, cyclic voltammetry, and viscosity measurements, which revealed intercalative mode of binding to ct-DNA. Antibacterial activity of the synthesized compounds against Escherichia coli and Streptococcus mutans was assessed in vitro by the agar well diffusion method. The antioxidant activity of these compounds was estimated by DPPH assay.  相似文献

This study describes sensitive determination of atropine using glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) modified with Co3O4 nanostructures. The as-synthesised nanostructures were grown using cysteine (CYS), glutathione (GSH) and histidine (HYS) as effective templates under hydrothermal action. The obtained morphologies revealed interesting structural features, including both cavity-based and flower-shaped structures. The as-synthesised morphologies were noted to actively participate in electro-catalysis of atropine (AT) drug where GSH-assisted structures exhibited the best signal response in terms of current density and over-potential value. The study also discusses the influence of functional groups on the signal sensitivity of atropine electro-oxidation. The functionalisation was carried with the amino acids originally used as effective templates for the growth of Co3O4 nanostructures. The highest increment was obtained when GSH was used as the surface functionalising agent. The GSH-functionalised Co3O4-modified electrode was utilised for the electro-chemical sensing of AT in a concentration range of 0.01–0.46 μM. The developed sensor exhibited excellent working linearity (R2 = 0.999) and signal sensitivity up to 0.001 μM of AT. The noted high sensitivity of the sensor is associated with the synergy of superb surface architectures and favourable interaction facilitating the electron transfer kinetics for the electro-catalytic oxidation of AT. Significantly, the developed sensor demonstrated excellent working capability when used for AT detection in human urine samples with strong anti-interference potential against common co-existing species, such as glucose, fructose, cysteine, uric acid, dopamine and ascorbic acid.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this study, we report the synthesis and biological evaluation of novel phthalimide based Schiff base derivatives as promising antioxidant and DNA-binding agents. The structural investigation of the synthesized compounds was determined by spectral and elemental analysis. In vitro DNA-binding studies of title compounds were carried out by UV–Vis, fluorescence, circular dichroism spectroscopic techniques, cyclic voltammetry, thermal denaturation studies, and hydrodynamic measurements to investigate their potential as DNA-binding agents. The DNA binding constant (Kb) of target compounds was obtained from absorption studies between 1.2 × 105 M?1 and 1.27 × 105 M?1, respectively, suggesting that the test compounds have shown good affinity toward calf-thymus DNA. The experimental results of DNA-binding studies reveal a non-intercalative mode of binding between DNA and the synthesized compounds, most probably groove binding. In addition, molecular docking techniques were performed to rationalize the observed binding affinities with the target DNA. Furthermore, antioxidant and free radical scavenging activities of the synthesized compounds were carried out to find out their pharmacological potential. The results indicate that the title compounds displayed good antioxidant activity against DPPH (IC50: 0.727 and 0.656 mg/mL) and H2O2 radicals (IC50: 1.072 and 0.911 mg/mL) comparable to standard ascorbic acid.  相似文献

A differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) method was developed for the determination of 4‐nitrophenol (4‐NP) at a newly developed silver amalgam paste electrode (AgA‐PE) in Britton–Robinson buffer pH 3.0. The electrode is based on a disposable plastic pipette tip filled with paste amalgam based on a mixture of mercury and fine silver powder (9 : 1, w/w). The experimental parameters, such as pH of Britton–Robinson buffer and activation and regeneration potential of the electrode surface were optimized. The reduction peak current dependences were linear for the concentration of 4‐NP from 0.2 to 100 μM. The method showed reproducible results with RSD (n=45) of 1.7%. The limit of determination (LOD) was 0.3 μM. The method was successfully applied for the direct determination of 4‐NP in drinking water.  相似文献

A new simple sensitive differential pulse polarographic (DPP) method was investigated for the determination of acrylamide (AA) directly in a neutral aqueous solution. The AA showed a well-defined and well-resolved peak in pure aqueous LiCl at −1.84 V in the potential range from −1.6 V to −1.97 V at nitrogen pressure of 0.5 kg cm−2. Among the various electrolytes studied, the AA showed good DPP response in the presence of LiCl and tetra methyl ammonium iodide, while it showed poor response in the presence of tetra butyl ammonium hydroxide and tetra butyl ammonium bromide due to their strong adsorption on the surface of electrode which hindered its reduction. The effect of LiCl concentration, the cyclic voltammetric response and the drop time study showed that AA exhibited an irreversible adsorptive electrochemical behavior. The good electrochemical response in pure aqueous medium suggested that hydrogen bonding might be involved which may favor the electrode reaction. Under optimized conditions, the peak current was linear in the entire concentration range from 0.2 mg L−1 to 20 mg L−1 with the correlation coefficient of R2 = 0.9998. The method showed good reproducible results with R.S.D. of 0.3% (n = 16). The detection limit (LOD) was 27 μg L−1. The influence of various interfering agents was also studied. The method was applied successfully for the quantification of AA in water samples without any interference effect from alkali metals.  相似文献
