On cutting sequences of the <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis>-shaped translation surface tiled by three squares

We consider a symbolic coding of bi-infinite non periodic geodesics on the L-shaped translation surface tiled by three squares. Each bi-infinite non periodic geodesic is associated with a cutting sequence corresponding to the sequence of labeled saddle connections hit. We prove that there is a relationship between the cutting sequences and the actions of some affine automorphisms of the translation surface. We also get an explicit formula to determine the direction of a bi-infinite non periodic geodesic by using the corresponding cutting sequence.

Value distribution theory and the research of Yang Lo

Value distribution theory is concerned with the position and frequency of solutions of the equation f(z) = a. Here f may be entire, i.e. an everywhere convergent power series or meromorphic, i.e. the ratio of two such series, or a function in some other domains, such as an angle or a disk. Yang Lo’s significant contributions to this area will be highlighted. Some of his important contributions to normal families will also be described.     

Coupling reactions of alpha-(N-carbamoyl)alkylcuprates with enol triflates derived from cyclic beta-keto esters: A facile approach to gamma-carbamoyl-alpha,beta-enoates

alpha-(N-Carbamoylalkyl)cuprates couple with enol triflates derived from carbocyclic and heterocyclic (i.e., piperidinones) beta-keto esters. Product yields are higher with the alkyl(cyano)cuprates [i.e., RCu(CN)Li, 56-93%] than with the dialkylcuprate reagents (i.e., R(2)CuLi.LiCN). An enol nonaflate works as well as the corresponding enol triflate. A facile synthetic route to gamma-amino alpha,beta-enoates not readily prepared from gamma-keto-alpha,beta-enoates is thus established. The gamma-amino-alpha,beta-enoates, available via N-Boc deprotection, can be cyclized to annulated pyrrolin-2-ones.     

Hausdorff dimension of quasi-cirles of polygonal mappings and its applications

We show that the Hausdorff dimension of quasi-circles of polygonal mappings is one.Furthermore,we apply this result to the theory of extremal quasiconformal mappings.Let [μ] be a point in the universal Teichmller space such that the Hausdorff dimension of fμ(Δ) is bigger than one.We show that for every kn∈(0,1) and polygonal differentials ψn,n=1,2,...,the sequence {[kn ψn/|ψn|]} cannot converge to [μ] under the Teichmer metric.     

Convex hull theorem for multiply connected domains in the plane with an estimate of the quasiconformal constant

For any multiply connected domain Ω in R2, let S be the boundary of the convex hull in H3 of R2\Ω which faces Ω. Suppose in addition that there exists a lower bound l > 0 of the hyperbolic lengths of closed geodesics in Ω. Then there is always a K-quasiconformal mapping from S to Ω, which extends continuously to the identity on S = Ω, where K depends only on l. We also give a numerical estimate of K by using the parameter l.     

Synthesis and optoelectronic properties of amino-functionalized carbazole-based conjugated polymers

A series of alcohol soluble amino-functionalized carbazole-based copolymers were synthesized via Suzuki coupling reaction.The pendent amino groups endow them high solubility in polar solvents,as well as efficient electron injection capability from high work-function metals.The relationships between the photophysical and electrochemical properties and the polymer backbone structure were systematically investigated.These alcohol-soluble carbazole-based copolymers were used as cathode interlayers between the high work-function metal Al cathode and P-PPV emissive layer in polymer light-emitting diodes with device structure of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/P-PPV/interlayer/Al.The resulting devices exhibited improved performance due to the better electron injection/transporting ability of the designed copolymers from Al cathode to the light-emitting layer.     

Stable Teichmller mappings of type (0,4)

Let X = C\{0,1} and X = X\{}. We get a necessary and suficient condition on the position of  in X such that X has stable Teichmller mappings. Furthermore, we can formulate all these stable Teichmller mappings. The main result in this paper partially answers a question posed by Kra.     

Alkali metal salts doped pluronic block polymers as electron injection/transport layers for high performance polymer light-emitting diodes

A series of alkali metal salts doped pluronic block copolymer F127 were used as electron injection/transport layers (ETLs) for polymer light-emitting diodes with poly[2-(4-(3′,7′-dimethyloctyloxy)-phenyl)-p-phenylenevinylene] (P-PPV) as the emission layer. It was found that the electron transport capability of F127 can be effectively enhanced by doping with alkali metal salts. By using Li2CO3 (15%) doped F127 as ETL, the resulting device exhibited improved performance with a maximum luminous efficiency (LE) of 13.59 cd/A and a maximum brightness of 5529 cd/m2, while the device with undoped F127 as ETL only showed a maximum LE of 8.78 cd/A and a maximum brightness of 2952 cd/m2. The effects of the doping concentration, cations and anions of the alkali metal salts on the performance of the resulting devices were investigated. It was found that most of the alkali metal salt dopants can dramatically enhance the electron transport capability of F127 ETL and the performance of the resulting devices was greatly improved.     

胺基功能化咔唑共轭聚合物的合成及其光电性能研究

发展了新型含有胺基的支化烷基修饰的咔唑单元,并且与芴、咔唑、苯等单元通过Suzuki偶联反应共聚得到不同主链结构的水/醇溶共轭聚合物界面修饰材料,研究了主链结构的变化对材料光物理、电化学性能的影响.所有聚合物均被用作阴极界面材料应用于器件结构为ITO/PEDOT：PSS/P-PPV/界面层/Al的聚合物发光二极管中.在相同器件制备条件下,系统比较了不同主链结构的界面修饰材料在器件中的性能,并研究了性能差异的原因.器件研究结果表明,在高功函数金属Al阴极的聚合物发光二极管中,含胺基功能化咔唑单元的水/醇溶共轭聚合物材料由于界面偶极的形成,均表现出很好的电子注入/传输性能,与之对应的器件性能得到大幅提升.
