On ergodic control of degenerate diffusions

Asymptotic approximation of degenerate fiber integrals

We study asymptotics of fiber integrals depending on a large parameter. When the critical fiber is singular, full-asymptotic expansions are established in two different cases: local extremum and isolated real principal type singularities. The main coefficients are computed and invariantly expressed. In the most singular cases, it is shown that the leading term of the expansion is related to invariant measures on the spherical blow-up of the singularity. The results can be applied to certain degenerate oscillatory integrals which occur in spectral analysis and quantum mechanics.     

Overdetermined problems with possibly degenerate ellipticity, a geometric approach

Given an open bounded connected subset Ω of ℝⁿ, we consider the overdetermined boundary value problem obtained by adding both zero Dirichlet and constant Neumann boundary data to the elliptic equation −div(A(|∇u|)∇u)=1 in Ω. We prove that, if this problem admits a solution in a suitable weak sense, then Ω is a ball. This is obtained under fairly general assumptions on Ω and A. In particular, A may be degenerate and no growth condition is required. Our method of proof is quite simple. It relies on a maximum principle for a suitable P-function, combined with some geometric arguments involving the mean curvature of ∂Ω.     

Formation of a vortex lattice in a rotating BCS Fermi gas

We investigate theoretically the formation of a vortex lattice in a superfluid two-spin component Fermi gas in a rotating harmonic trap, in a BCS-type regime of condensed non-bosonic pairs. Our analytical solution of the superfluid hydrodynamic equations, both for the 2D BCS equation of state and for the 3D unitary quantum gas, predicts that the vortex free gas is subject to a dynamic instability for fast enough rotation. With a numerical solution of the full time dependent BCS equations in a 2D model, we confirm the existence of this dynamic instability and we show that it leads to the formation of a regular pattern of quantum vortices in the gas.     

利用V型原子与单模光场的非共振相互作用制备四光子相干态

提出了一种利用简并V型三能级原子与振幅很大的单模相干光场的远离共振相互作用,制备四光子相干态的有效新方案.同时证明了在相同的条件下,按照相同的方法不能制备出四成分以上的相干态的叠加态, 即当在腔中注入的第三个原子的速度与第二个原子的速度相等时,腔场将保持这种四光子相干态不变.     

带非局部源的退化半线性抛物型方程解的爆破

该文研究带Dirichlet边界条件的退化半线性抛物型方程:xqut-uxx=∫0af(u)dx,这里q>0.作者证明了局部解的存在唯一性并且得到当初值充分大时解在有限时刻爆破.进而,证明解的爆破点集是整个区间[0,a],这与具有局部源的方程解的性质不同.     

Poisson Kernel for a Degenerate Elliptic Equation and Application to Boundary Value Problems

In this paper we consider the Dirichlet problem to a degenerate elliptic equation in a domain whose interior contains a degenerate surface. By means of the method of expansion of Poisson kernel and applying the properties of special functions, we obtain the twice continuously differentiable solution of the problem on the entire space including infinity.
