The effectiveness of solvents as hydrogen bond donors

Taft and Kamlet's -scale of solvent hydrogen bond donation ability is reexamined with regard to its correlations with three widely used polarity scales: Dimroth and Reichardt's E _T (30), Kosower's Z and Mayer's A _N , as well as with the _m values of the solvents when present as monomeric solutes. The correlation with E _T serves to extend the solvent -scale according to the expression:

Ab initio calculation of 4-ClC6H4CH2Cl and peculiarities of electron density distribution in this molecule

Ab initio calculation of the 4-ClC₆H₄CH₂Cl molecule was performed by the restricted Hartree-Fock method in the split valence 6–31 G* basis set with complete optimization of its geometry. Populations of p-orbitals of atoms of this molecule were analyzed.³⁵Cl NQR frequencies and asymmetry parameters of the electric field gradient on³⁵Cl nuclei were estimated on the basis of the populations of valent p-orbitals of CI atoms and their components. Good conformity with the experimental values was obtained when only less diffuse components of p-orbitals were used in calculations of populations.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reaction of 4,4′-dimethyldiphenyl ether with phosphorus trichloride in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride

The reaction of 4,4-dimethyldiphenyl ether with phosphorus trichloride in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride was studied. This reaction affords 2,8-dimethyl-10H-10⁵-phenoxaphosphine 10-oxide as virtually the only product. In air, the latter in an alkaline solution is quantitatively transformed into 10-hydroxy-2,8-dimethyl-10H-10⁵-phenoxaphosphine 10-oxide.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Thermal investigations on γ-radiation processed natural medicinal products (Ashwagandha,Amla and Hartiki)

DSC and TG studies were carried out on -radiation processed Indian natural products of medicinal importance, namely Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera), Amla (Emblica Officinalis) and Hartiki (Terminalia chebula). DSC thermoanalytical curves were recorded from 35 to 400°C in air and nitrogen atmosphere. Similarly, TG thermoanalytical curves were taken from 35 to 700°C in air and nitrogen atmosphere. Irradiated products gave significantly different thermoanalytical profiles in comparison to non-irradiated samples. The differences were observed above decomposition temperature of 200°C and were non-linear with respect to radiation dose. Partial oxidation of the products during irradiation in air could be responsible for the observed differences.     

Bentone-34/OV-1毛细管柱的研制及其分离性能

自行研制了Bentone-34/OV-1高效石英毛细管气相色谱柱,并利用该柱分别对二甲苯、二氯苯和二氯甲苯异构体3种体系进行分析.在选用的色谱条件下,难分离物质对二甲苯和间二甲苯分离度达3;间二氯苯和对二氯苯分离度达1 3.结果表明该柱具有分离效果好,分析速度快的优点.     

Characterization of Autocatalytic Reactions in Modified Cellulose/NMMO Solutions by Thermal Analysis and UV/VIS Spectroscopy

The thermal stability of cellulose/N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) solutions were investigated using UV/VIS spectrometry with a temperature programming cuvette and caloric measurements by means of the Systag calorimeter RADEX (mini-autoclave). Both analytical methods allow to characterize the influences of stabilizers and additives. With the temporal course of the optical density, temperature and pressure thermal runaway reactions with gas evolution and accumulation of chromophoric degradation products were recognized. Kinetic model calculations compared with UV/VIS measurements demonstrate the existence of autocatalytic reactions in cellulose/NMMO solutions. Varying the heating rate autocatalysis can be proved by dynamic caloric measurements as well.     

Thermal characterisation of alumina supported chromium and platinum–chromium catalysts

This study presented results on reduction of alumina supported chromium and platinum–chromium catalysts using temperature programmed reduction method (TPR). It has been shown that catalysts after earlier oxidation step but without calcinations one undergo reduction in lower temperature in comparison to calcined only catalysts. Moreover, addition platinum to Cr/Al₂O₃ catalysts also caused decrease of reduction temperature. It has been observed that over the examined catalysts oxidation CO to CO₂ and reduction CO to CH₄ occurs. However, on Pt–Cr catalysts both reactions proceed at lower temperature compare to Cr catalysts.     

PP/LDPE共混体系的辐射效应

研究了在多官能团单体—三烯丙基异氰脲酸酯存在下ＰＰ／ＬＤＰＥ共混体系接受γ－辐射的效果。用溶解度参数和ＴＥＭ技术评估了共混体系的相容性与多官能团单体在共混体系中的分布，并用ＳＥＭ、ＤＳＣ、动态力学等方法对共混体系相容性进行了表征。结果表明，ＰＰ／ＬＤＰＥ是不相容的共混体系，三烯丙基异氰脲酸酯主要分布在共混体系的相界面区域，辐照强化了共混体系的相间结合，增加了界面厚度，改善了共混体系的相容性。     

GC/MS SIM法快速测定酒中的游离脂肪酸

本文介绍一种简单、快速、灵敏、直接分析酒中游离脂肪酸的测定方法。用涂有OV-17熔融石英毛细管柱。选择游离脂肪酸质谱图中的基峰离子m/z 60进行SIM检测。定量测定了茅台酒、珍酒及鸭溪窖酒中十二种游离脂肪酸。     

W／O型微乳液中超氧化物阴离子的产生——微环境中SOD酶活性测定方法 …

分别在水溶液中和W／O型CTAB／正戊醇／异辛烷／水微乳液体系中研究了测定SOD酶活性的邻苯三酚法,发现在反向微乳液中,"小水池"的低介电常数和pH抑制了底物超氧化物阴离子O2-·的产生．只有提高外加缓冲液的pH或"小水池"的水化度,才能得到所需浓度的O2-·,从而初步解决了在微乳液中SOD作用底物的产生问题,为在微乳液中准确测定SOD酶活性创造了条件．
