Variational treatment for the dynamical pseudo Jahn-Teller system

We present a variational treatment for the E × e pseudo Jahn-Teller system. Through canonical transformation the electron and phonon states are decoupled. An analytical form is obtained for the ground state energy by scaling transformation. Including both the dynamical displacement of phonon modes and the softening of phonon frequency, this approach yields fairly accurate results for the ground state energy. The energy splitting and Ham's reduction factor are calculated, which also generates fairly good results compared with other perturbation results. We argue that our variational wave function is valid for the weak and intermediate coupling range.

Noise-assisted mound coarsening in epitaxial growth

Two types of mechanisms are proposed for mound coarsening during unstable epitaxial growth: stochastic, due to deposition noise, and deterministic, due to mass currents driven by surface energy differences. Both yield the relation H=(RWL)² between the typical mound height W, mound size L, and the film thickness H. An analysis of simulations and experimental data shows that the parameter R saturates to a value which discriminates sharply between stochastic () and deterministic () coarsening. We derive a scaling relation between the coarsening exponent 1/z and the mound-height exponent which, for a saturated mound slope, yields . 钙钛矿型复合氧化物LaNi_(1-x)Mn_xO_3晶体结构与催化性能的关系

用XRD、IR和TPR等技术研究了钙钛矿型复合氧化物的晶体结构及其反应性能.整个组成范围内,LaNi_(i-x)Mn_xO_3(0.0≤x≤1.0)体系都生成单一钙钛矿相;x=0.0,0.6≤X≤1.0时为菱形晶系,0.2≤x≤0.5为立方晶系.IR和TPR研究表明,晶体结构对B—O键合作用存在较大影响.CO微反考察表明,本体系的催化活性与晶系存在密切关系,晶体对称性越高,反应活性越低.说明钙钛矿型复合氧化物的催化活性与体系活性中心的B—O键合作用能力有关.
