Surface modification of waterborne polyurethane   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Fluorinated urethane oligomers (SMAs) having repeat unit identical to the hard segment of base polyurethane (PU) have been synthesized and blended with base PU prior to dispersion. XPS and static contact angle measurements showed that surfaces of dispersion cast film are significantly enriched with SMA although SMA and base PU were miscible in bulk phase showing a single glass transition temperature. AFM showed that surface roughness of the dispersion cast film increased over 13 times with the addition of SMA (15%) providing possible mechanism of increased water and oil resistance as well as low friction coefficient of the film.  相似文献

A series of latex particles with interpenetrating polymer network structure have been synthesized from waterborne polyurethane (PU) and polystyrene (PS). The effect of PU/PS composition, cross-linking density in the PS domain as well as in PU have been studied in terms of dispersion size, transmission electron microscopy morphology, mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties in addition to swellability in water and toluene of the dispersion cast film. It was found that inverted core (PS)–shell (PU) morphology was well defined and that the domain size as well as the film properties were well controlled by the latex composition and cross-linking density of both phases. Plasma-induced grafting of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) onto the surface of polyurethane (PU) film. The virgin, plasma treated, and PDMS grafted PU films were characterized by means of attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, water drop contact angle measurements, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The ATR-FTIR spectrogram of the grafted film showed the new characteristic peaks of PDMS. These grafted surfaces exhibited higher hydrophobicity and homogenous morphology. In vitro cell culture study showed that modified surfaces as well as virgin film were compatible with fibroblast cells. The formation of graft polymers combines the biostability of silicone with excellent physical and mechanical properties of PU.  相似文献

Hydrophobic polyurethane (PU) films are widely used for various commercial and industrial applications due to their excellent water repelling and self-cleaning property. Nevertheless, achieving appreciable hydrophobicity in PU film is quite a challenge. Herein, we report on the development of a novel hydrophobic PU (fluorinated polyurethane [FCO-PU]) film and comprehensively evaluate its anticorrosive property. The FCO-PU was prepared by structural modification of castor oil (CO) through attachment of long fluorocarbon chains as pendant groups onto the backbone of CO. A model PU film (CO-PU) was also prepared from unmodified CO to compare the properties of FCO-PU film. All intermediate compounds, FCO-PU and CO-PU films were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques. Morphological, thermal and mechanical properties of the PU films were analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) studies. Successful introduction of long fluorocarbon chains into the FCO-PU film is reflected by its high hydrophobicity with a water contact angle of 119.1°, compared to the model CO-PU film with a water contact angle of 84.4°. Anticorrosive properties of the PU films were evaluated by polarization technique and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy under corrosive environment and the obtained results reveal a significant corrosion resistance (corrosion rate: 6.72 × 10−6 mm/year) behavior by the FCO-PU film. This work represents an effective strategy for the backbone modification of CO to develop novel functional PU materials.  相似文献

Polyurethanes (PUs) containing tertiary nitrogen atoms were synthesised from poly (tetramethylene oxide) glycol, toluene diisocyanate and N-methyl diethanolamine. These polymers were converted into cationomers by quarternising with alkyl bromides of different chain lengths and then dispersed in water. Finally the cationic PU dispersions were further crosslinked with dibromo compounds of different spacer lengths. The effect of percent ionisation, percent crosslinking, chain length of the ioniser and crosslinker on particle size, viscosity and interfacial tension of the dispersions and on the thermal, mechanical and surface tension properties of the dispersion cast films were studied. The hydrophilicity of the polymer is more in the dispersed state than when cast as a film, which exhibited low critical surface tension values. With increase in chain length of the ioniser and the crosslinker, the hydrophobicity of the dispersion cast film increases without appreciable change in the hydrophilicity of the polymer in the dispersed phase, as can be seen from the interfacial tension and critical surface tension values.  相似文献

Some new kinds of novel polyurethane (PU)/polyacrylate (PA) latex interpenetrating networks (LIPNs) were synthesized. Firstly PU dispersions were synthesized by self-emulsification polymerization. Then PU/PA LIPNs using PU dispersion as the seed were prepared by soap free emulsion polymerization. The effects of different PU/PA ratios, the blending method and the NCO/OH molar ratio of PU components on PU/PA LIPNs performance were also investigated. The structure and properties of PU/PA LIPNs such as mechanical properties, particle size, morphology of the surface were characterized by dynamic mechanical analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and dynamic light scattering. It was found that PU/PA LIPNs can markedly improve the water resistance and the mechanical properties of PU latex much more than those of PU/PA physical blends due to a great deal of interpenetrating and entangling between PU and PA latex. Moreover, the particle size of PU/PA LIPNs is related to the PA content and NCO/OH molar ratio of PU components: the higher the NCO/OH molar ratio in PU dispersions, the larger is the particle size of PU/PA LIPNs, and the average particle size of PU/PA LIPNs becomes larger with an increase in PA content.  相似文献

Flexible polyurethane (PU) nanocomposite foams were synthesized using organically modified montmorillonite clay (Cloisite 30B). The dispersion of organoclay was considered both in the isocyanate and polyol matrixes. Silicate layers of organoclay can be exfoliated in PU matrix by use of two steps mixing process. The presence of clay increased the cell density and reduced the cell size compared to the conventional PU foam. Clay dispersion was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphology and properties of PU nanocomposite foams were also studied. Generally, mechanical properties by addition of clay were improved. Foams in which clay was firstly dispersed in the isocyanate, showed better dispersion due to affinity of OH group on the clay surface to react with NCO groups. 采用甲苯二异氰酸酯(TDI)、聚氧化丙烯二醇(PPG)、2,2-二羟甲基丙酸(DMPA)为原料,先制备成聚氨酯预聚体,再通过在乳化过程中以侧链氨基硅油(AEAPS)或直链氨基硅油(ATPS)扩链制得了一系列水性聚氨酯乳液,并对涂膜的红外光谱、耐水性、力学性能和表面疏水性等进行了研究。结果表明,通过氨基硅油改性的聚氨酯涂膜,在保持力学性能基本不变的情况下,其耐水性、表面疏水性等性能都有明显提高。其中,侧链氨基硅油(AEAPS)比直链氨基硅油(ATPS)具有更好的改性效果。  相似文献

We report a transferring method of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) on polyurethane (PU) block copolymers film. We polymerized PU block copolymer films, and then, a GNP layer, deposited on glossy paper by drop casting, was transferred by hot press from the glossy surface to the synthetized PU substrate. Nanoindentation test showed that GNP coated PU substrate exhibits improved mechanical properties with respect to the neat PU film. When an electric bias was applied to the GNP coating, the heat generated by Joule effect was transferred to the PU substrate showing an electroactive shape recovery effect. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Aqueous anionic polyurethane (PU) dispersions were synthesised from a polyester polyol, isophorone diisocyanate and α,α-dimethylol propionic acid using the prepolymer mixing process. Samples were neutralised by the addition of triethyl amine. The polymer chains were dispersed in water and extended with 1,2-ethylene diamine. The differences in the dispersion characteristics and the mechanical properties of the polymer films cast and dried from the dispersions caused by altered reaction conditions were determined.The reaction conditions proved to affect both the colloidal properties of the dispersions as well as the mechanical properties of the films. The neutralisation, the dispersion and the chain extension methods had all an influence on the average size of the formed PU particles. For the films, a change in the mechanical properties and probably in the amount of hard and soft domain separation was also observed. A good control over the properties was obtained by selecting the reaction parameters carefully. In particular, the dispersion method in which the prepolymer solution was added to water and not vice versa led to a considerably lower viscosity during the dispersion process. Thus a wider choice of raw materials was facilitated.  相似文献

A styrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) alternating copolymer with ultrahigh molecular weight (Mw > 106) synthesized in super critical carbon dioxide (SC CO2) medium was used as hydrophilic polymeric additive in the preparation of polyethersulfone (PES) membranes. The PES/SMA blend membranes were prepared by immersion precipitation process. X-ray photoelectronic spectroscopy (XPS) measurements confirmed that the hydrolyzed SMA preferentially segregated to membrane–coagulant interface during membrane formation. For the PES/SMA blend membranes, no big change was observed in the cross-sectional structure and the mechanical properties were well maintained after SMA addition except that a thicker top layer was formed. The surface morphology analysis by atomic force microscopy (AFM) showed that the membrane surface roughness increased with the added SMA amount. The results of water contact angle, water absorbance measurements and static protein adsorption experiments revealed that the surface enrichment of SMA endowed PES/SMA blend membranes with significantly improved surface hydrophilicity and protein-adsorption resistance.  相似文献

Polymeric scaffolds were realised with linear degradable PU in the form of square, hexagonal and octagonal grids. They were characterised in terms of their mechanical properties. Analysis shows that the mechanical properties of the scaffolds depend on their geometries which are easily modulated using PAM. In vitro biological assays showed that PU promotes the adhesion and proliferation of fibroblast cells and that cell activities are better on PU scaffolds than on PU films. In vivo implantation of PU and PLGA scaffolds and PU films demonstrated that the scaffolds are completely resorbed after three months with a slight inflammatory response, while the PU film was still present after six months with an intense granulomatous reaction.  相似文献

以自乳化型聚氨酯和甲阶酚醛制备了聚氨酯 酚醛复合水分散液 .pH值与酚醛溶解度的关系表明甲阶酚醛的溶解是酚羟基电离的结果 .聚氨酯 甲阶酚醛水分散液粒子的形态有核壳结构、不完善的核壳结构及纯聚氨酯颗粒三种 ,后者粒径最小 .随着酚醛用量的增大 ,粒子平均粒径增大 .酚醛含量增加使体系热稳定性、机械稳定性、冻融稳定性及临界聚沉值下降 ,pH值稳定范围变窄 .分散液稳定性和电性能考察证明 ,本复合分散液的稳定性主要由分散液的电性能所决定 ,属真溶胶 ,但在一定程度上也具有大分子溶液的特性 .复合液涂膜的性能较纯聚氨酯有所改善 ,尤其在添加了硅溶胶之后  相似文献

以低聚物多元醇、异氟尔酮二异氰酸酯(IPDI)、亲水单体二羟甲基丙酸(DMPA),乙二胺为主要原料,制备了一组不同组成的聚氨酯乳液。通过粘度测定、粒度分析、力学性能和耐水性能测试、原子力显微镜(AFM)分析,研究了软段类型、软段分子量对乳液及其胶膜性能的影响。结果表明,分子结构规整、易结晶的软段合成的聚氨酯树脂力学性能和耐水性能都较好,对聚己二酸酯而言,分子量减小,其合成的水性聚氨酯拉伸强度提高,耐水性能却有很大程度的下降。  相似文献

The mechanical properties of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers reinforced rigid polyurethane (PU) composites were studied, and the effects of the fiber surface treatment and the mass fraction were discussed. Chromic acid was used to treat the UHMWPE fibers, and polyurethane composites were prepared with 0.1 to 0.6 wt% as‐received and treated UHMWPE fibers. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared demonstrated that oxygen‐containing functional groups were efficiently grafted to the fiber surface. The mechanical performance tests of the UHMWPE fibers/PU composites were conducted, and the results revealed that the treated UHMWPE fibers/PU composites had better tensile, compression, and bending properties than as‐received UHMWPE fibers/PU composites. Thermal gravimetric analyzer showed that the thermal stability of the treated fiber composites were improved. The interface bonding of PU composites were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and dynamic mechanical analysis, and the results indicated that the surface modification of UHMWPE fiber could improve the interaction between fiber and PU, which played a positive role in mechanical properties of composites.  相似文献

The mechanical properties and dynamic mechanical properties of blends composed of Nylon 6 and poly(butylenes terephthalate)(PBT),with styrene/maleic anhydride(SMA)as compatibilizer,were studied.The observation on the morphologies of the etched surfaces of the cryogenically fractured specimens via scanning electron microscopy(SEM)demonstrated that in the compatibilized Nylon 6/PBT blends,there exists a finer and more uniform dispersion induced by the in-situ interfacial chemical reactions during the preparation than that in the corresponding uncompatibilized blends.On the other hand,the overall mechanical properties of the compatibilized blends could be remarkably improved compared with those of the uncompatibilized ones.Moreover,increasing the amount of the compatibilizer SMA leads to a more efficient dispersion of the PBT phase in Nylon 6/PBT blends.Furthermore,there exists an optimum level of SMA added to achieve the maximum mechanical properties.As far as the mechanism of this reactive compatibilization is concerned,the enhanced interfacial adhesion is necessary to obtain improved dispersion,stable phase morphology,and better mechanical properties.  相似文献

Abstract

Segmented polyurethane (PU) ionomers were prepared from cycloaliphatic diisocyanate [methylene bis(4-cyclohexyl isocyanate) (H12MDI) and isophoron diisocyanate (IPDI)] and polytetramethylene glycol (PTMG) by using an anionic-type chain extender, viz., dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA). The effect of ionic content and butanediol (BD) on the state of dispersion and physical properties of emulsion-cast film was determined using Autosizer, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Instron, and Rheovibron. With increased incorporations of DMPA in PU, particle size of emulsion decreased asymptotically, tensile modulus and strength increased, and the glass transition temperature (T g) moved toward the higher temperature. On the other hand, with increased incorporation of BD in PU, particle size of emulsion, tensile modulus, and strength of the emulsion cast film increased, and the major transition of soft segment moved toward higher temperature. With regard to the structural effect of the isocyanate, H12MDI gave finer dispersion and better mechanical properties over IPDI.  相似文献

以聚醚烽异氟尔酮二异氰酸酯为主要原料,以二羟甲基酸为亲水单体制备了一组不同配方组成的聚氨酯乳胶粘剂。通过粘度测定、粒度分析、力度性能的测试以及DSC分析,研究了新水剂含量、软链段的类型和加料方法对乳液及其胶膜性能的影响。结果表明:二羟甲基丙酸含量在3%-8%之间可获得比较稳定的乳液,并且两步法较一步法制得的乳液分散性好,但胶膜力学性能方面,一步法较好。  相似文献
