A novel plasmonic polarization filter based on the diamond-shape photonic crystal fiber(PCF) is proposed. The resonant coupling characteristics of the PCF polarization filter are investigated by the full-vector finite-element method. By optimizing the geometric parameters of the PCF, when the fiber length is 5 mm, the polarization filter has a bandwidth of 990 nm and an extinction ratio(ER) of lower than -20 dB. Moreover, a single wavelength polarization filter can also be achieved, along with an ER of -279.78 dB at wavelength 1.55 μm. It is believed that the proposed PCF polarization filter will be very useful in laser and optical communication systems.  相似文献

This paper presents a multi-functional all-optical device performs simultaneous chromatic dispersion (CD) monitoring, extinction ratio (ER) improvement and tunable wavelength conversion using four-wave mixing (FWM) in a single piece of highly nonlinear optical fiber (HNLF). The multi-functional ability arises from the nonlinear power transfer function (PTF) between the input signal and the output idler wave, which not only maps the CD information of the signal onto the average power of idler wave, but also transfers the data information to the idler wave with ER enhancement, making the device compact and cost effective. Furthermore within the wavelength tuning range the monitoring sensitivity and output ER can be much higher compared to all optical monitors and regenerators proposed before. Numerical simulations are then used to demonstrate the efficiency of this method.  相似文献

针对目前半实物仿真采用一弹一仿的问题,提出采用变焦距投影系统的五轴转台仿真方案,使得不同视场、不同焦距、不同型号的导引头可以采用同一套仿真系统进行仿真测试,提高了仿真系统的效费比。分析了红外半实物仿真用变焦光学系统的特点,设计了(8~12)μm波段衍射受限红外变焦光学系统,系统入瞳直径80mm,变倍比为3.0,弥散斑直径小于50μm。  相似文献

We have proposed, simulated, and experimentally verified the novel automatic control method and apparatus to automatically adjust and constantly maintain the optimum optical gain and phase differences in order to achieve the automatically optimized semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA)-Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) wavelength converter (WC) with wide input power dynamic range (IPDR) and maximum extinction ratio (ER). Our automatic control algorithm is proposed through the results of simulation and its validity is confirmed through the experiment.  相似文献

All-optical single-to-dual channel format conversion from NRZ to RZ at 10 Gbit/s using cross phase modulation (XPM) in dispersion flattened highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber (DF-HNL-PCF) is demonstrated. Format conversion with dual channels signal multicasting function is achieved by filtering simultaneously the blue- and red-chirped components of broadened optical spectrum induced by XPM between NRZ signal and clock light. Moreover, the wavelength tunability and dynamics characteristics of proposed format converter are also exploited experimentally by using NRZ signal light with different central wavelength and varying input power. Our results show that a wide wavelength operation range of 21.2 nm, extinction ratio (ER) and Q factor of over 10.9 dB and 6.1 are obtained. Furthermore, the influence of central wavelength offset of optical bandpass filter on converted RZ signal quality is investigated. The proposed scheme is simple, robust, and transparent to bit rate, which makes it very potential for application in future photonic networks.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose and simulate the generation of femtosecond compensated pair-pulses (bright and dark pulses), obtained simultaneously at the same center wavelength. The proposed configuration is based on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) waveguide. The ultrafast pair-pulses are pumped at the mid-wave infrared wavelength (MWIR) injected in one arm of MZI, and a continuous-wave (CW) at the near infrared wavelength (specific communication wavelength) is launched from the other arm of MZI and divided equally into the two MZI arms. Numerical results show that femtosecond compensated pair-pulses with little pedestal shoulders in optical communication window can be simultaneously generated. In addition, the output properties, including the extinction ratio (ER) and contrast of compensated pair-pulses, are studied. The relation between the launching optical powers and the length of the Nonlinear SOI-MZI Waveguides are also explored. Such a work is helpful to dual binary code optical communication systems, opto-electronic devices and spectroscopy, etc.  相似文献

All-optical 2R regeneration in a semiconductor optical amplifier-based Mach–Zehnder interferometer is theoretically analyzed. It is shown that the chirp of the regenerated signal is positive, while the input signal has no chirp. The peak extinction ratio (ER) of the regenerated signal is associated with the input wavelength and there exists an input wavelength corresponding to the largest ER of the output signal. The output peak ER is also found influenced by the input power, with lower input power getting higher peak ER.  相似文献

提出了利用可调微腔实现光A/D转换器的模型.微腔采用Ti-LiNbO3作为介质,模拟信号通过电极作用于微腔的介质,使介质的折射率发生变化,从而改变腔的谐振波长.不同的谐振波长代表不同的模拟信号电平.以4-bit光A/D转换器为例,采用光传输矩阵和电光效应理论,进行模型设计.通过腔内光场变化分析,得出了模型的所需最小采样时间为0.0583×10-9s,即最大采样速率为17.15 G次/s.  相似文献

Taking into account ultra-fast carrier dynamics, this paper models 640 Gbit/s wavelength conversion scheme based on nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) in a single semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and investigates the performance of this kind of wavelength conversion scheme in detail. In this model, two carrier temperature equations are introduced to substitute two energy density equations, which reduce the complexity of calculation in comparison with the previous model. The temporary gain and phase shift dynamics induced by ultra-short optical pulses are numerically simulated and the simulated results are qualitatively in good agreement with reported experimental results. Simulated results show that non-inverted and inverted 640 Gbit/s wavelength conversions based on NPR are achieved with clear open eye diagrams. To further investigate the performance of the non-inverted wavelength conversion scheme, the dependence of output extinction ratio (ER) on some key parameters used in simulation is illustrated. Furthermore, simulated analyses show that high performance non-inverted wavelength conversion based on NPR can be achieved by using a red-shifted filtering scheme.  相似文献

以主动差分吸收光谱遥感技术为基础,在干净大气环境条件下,结合参考光路设计技术,开展了获取近地面气溶胶颗粒物的光谱新方法研究.针对以宽带氙弧灯为光源的主动差分吸收光谱系统固有宽波段特性,建立了解析颗粒物光学厚度模型,获取了大气颗粒物光学特性.最后通过外场实验,获得测量期间气溶胶颗粒物光学厚度,然后采用对数线性回归获取Angstrom波长指数和混浊系数,以及大气能见度数据.主动差分吸收光谱系统用测量光程范围内的大气总的吸收特性,获得监测区域的颗粒物平均水平,更具有代表性和进一步应用价值.  相似文献

We analyze the all-optical wavelength converter (AOWC)-based on cross-gain modulation (XGM) in a single-port-coupled (SPC) semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). A comprehensive dynamic model is developed by considering longitudinal variations of the carrier density, the residual rear-facet reflectivity of the SOA and the wide-band spontaneous noise emission. The numerical simulations for the novel wavelength conversion at 10 Gbit/s are presented based on the model. The extinction ratio (ER), conversion efficiency and pattern effect of the SPC-SOA-based wavelength converters are investigated, respectively. Compared with the traditional scheme of the double-portcoupled (DPC) SOA, the SPC-SOA scheme has better performance. We have obtained that the ER is higher than 10 dB with the pump wavelength turned over 15nm from experiments. The experimental results are in agreement with the simulation results.  相似文献

Optical packet switch with multicast capability can inspire a broad range of multipoint to multipoint applications in future optical networks. An optical multicast packet switching architecture, equipped with feedback shared small number of limited-range multi-wavelength converters (LMWCs) and output shared some full-range wavelength converters (FRWCs), is proposed for a wavelength-division multiplexed optical multicast network to improve multicast performance in the paper. The FRWCs are used to overcome the performance degradation in terms of packet loss probability due to only use LMWCs. In the architecture, the two converters are shared by all the multicast packets importing to the optical multicast switch node. A maximum bipartite matching with minimum edges weights strategy was designed to employ fewer wavelength converters and avoid useless degradation of optical signal quality for the architecture to improve the node performance. The simulation results show that the proposed architecture and its wavelength converter scheduling algorithm can reduce the multicast packet loss probability with relatively lesser wavelength conversion cost.  相似文献

在采用密集波分复用技术的骨干网中,通过建立动态多粒度业务模型对由大粒度(光纤和波带)和小粒度(波长)组成的三阶多粒度光交叉连接所构成的节点的网络特性(阻塞概率和带宽阻塞比)进行了研究和仿真分析,并由此对三阶多粒度节点的结构参数和网络中的系统参数进行了优化设计.从仿真结果可以看出,所提出来的优化设计方案能够显著的减少节点结构的复杂度并改善阻塞性能,从而减小了网络中设备的规模和成本.  相似文献

In this paper due to the crucial role of optical demultiplexers in wavelength division multiplexing and dense wavelength division multiplexing applications, we proposed a new mechanism for designing all optical photonic crystal based demultiplexers with 8, 16 and 32 output channels. Our proposed mechanism for wavelength selecting is a resonant defect structure which consists of one central defect and four defects around the central defect. It has been shown that the selected wavelength depends on the radius of the central defect and the distance between the central defect and other four defects. In all the three proposed demultiplexer the channels spacing is less than 1 nm. We used plane wave expansion method for extracting the band structure of the photonic crystal and employed finite difference time domain method for studying the optical properties of the designed devices.  相似文献

提出一种基于双罗兰圆光学结构的光谱仪光学系统及其设计方法。其中,200 nm~500 nm光路为常规的罗兰圆光学结构;500 nm~700 nm光路运用凹面光栅第零衍射级次光谱线,利用平面反光镜将谱线射入另一个凹面光栅,实现了双罗兰圆光学结构。根据设计要求及光学系统各个参数之间的相互约束,设计、计算出光学系统各个参数指标,基于Zemax仿真分析,调整光学参数并验证光学系统的可行性。针对平面信号探测器在罗兰圆周上存在像差问题,利用反光镜增添信号探测器的可摆放个数,使像差比初始结构减小4.475 μm,光谱仪整体光学结构尺寸小于400 mm × 500 mm。仿真结果表明:光谱仪所测的光谱波段范围可达200 nm~700 nm,全波段分辨率达0.4 nm。  相似文献

实验报道了利用半导体光放大器(SOA)的四波混频(FWM)效应实现多种码型的波长转换.其中对于非归零(NRZ)信号实现了从单信道到三信道的多波长转换.调制速率从10 Gb/s到40 Gb/s均实现多波长转换.对于归零(RZ)信号分别实现了20 Gb/s和40 Gb/s的RZ格式的波长转换和40 Gb/s的载波抑制归零(CSRZ)格式的波长转换,利用光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)作为带陷滤波器消除共轭光和抽运光之间的串扰.对于非归零差分相移键控(NRZ_DPSK)信号分别实现了20 Gb/s和40 Gb/s的波长转换,利用实验室自制的光纤延时干涉仪进行NRZ-DPSK信号的解调.基于FWM效应的转换光的输出消光比大于7 dB,转换后消光比退化约为3 dB.  相似文献

Here we have demonstrated a novel architecture of colorless wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network (WDM-PON) and analyze its performance which is capable of transmitting 10 Gbps data symmetrically in both downstream and upstream. In this architecture downstream data is subcarrier modulated (SCM) using radio frequency (RF) as subcarrier and laser frequency as carrier with the help of a Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM). For upstream data modulation an electro-absorption modulator, an optical coupler and reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) are used. Upstream data is transmitted through wavelength conversion between pump wavelength and continuous wave light sent from central office (CO) using cross gain modulation (XGM) in RSOA. Pump wavelengths have separate wavelength band than the carrier's wavelength sent from optical network unit (ONU) and can be chosen any one in its band. Since carrier reuse scheme is implemented so all the ONUs are operates in colorless mode. Effect of ER of delay interferometer (DI) on output OCSR of DI for different input OCSR is performed for SCM data. Simulation is performed with all 16 downlink and 16 uplink channels having data rate of 10 Gbps having acceptable performance.  相似文献

提出并设计了快速可调谐电光聚合物波导光栅.该波导光栅通过极化聚合物的线性电光效应 可实现谐振波长的纳秒级快速调谐,调谐灵敏度为61pm/V.研究了该波导光栅的反射谱和透 射谱特性与光栅周期,周期数,折射率调制函数及其调制大小的关系.讨论了波导光栅的材料 选择,制备工艺,快速可调谐性和偏振相关性.该波导光栅不仅克服了光纤光栅调谐速度慢和不利于大规模集成的不足,而且具有调谐灵敏度高,制备工艺与半导体工艺兼容和偏振无关 等优点. 关键词: 光通信器件 光波导 电光效应 聚合物 波导光栅 光纤光栅  相似文献

提出一种用于液体传感的光子晶体光纤的结构和设计方法。将六边形光子晶体光纤的纤芯区域设计成2个椭圆空气孔,分别填充水和乙醇,进而比较两种光子晶体光纤结构的传播特性。采用全矢量有限元法对所设计光子晶体光纤结构的双折射、相对灵敏度、限制损耗、非线性系数进行数值分析,对光纤各项参数的优化及纤芯椭圆结构参数进行调整,结果表明:当椭圆率为0.6时,纤芯填充乙醇的光子晶体光纤PCF2在波长1.55 nm处相对敏感度可达到72.506 7%,同时限制损耗可以降至10?8级。所设计的模型可用于传感和生物传感研究及应用。  相似文献
