The paper generalizes paraxial complex geometrical optics (PCGO) for Gaussian beam (GB) propagation in nonlinear media of Kerr type. Ordinary differential equations for the beam amplitude and for complex curvature of the wave front are derived, which describe the evolution of axially symmetric GB in a Kerr type nonlinear medium. It is shown that PCGO readily provides the solutions of NLS equation obtained earlier from diffraction theory on the basis of the aberration-free approach. Besides reproducing classical results of self-focusing PCGO readily describes an influence of the initial curvature of the wave front on the beam evolution in a medium of Kerr type including a nonlinear graded-index fiber. The range of applicability of the PCGO theory is discussed as well which is helpful for avoiding nonphysical solutions.  相似文献

We propose a numerical scheme for calculation of the wave field, based on the geometrical-optics method generalized for complex values. The main advantage of the complex-value method is a possibility to take into account diffraction effects using only the ordinary differential equations of the geometrical optics. This allows one to significantly reduce the amount of computations and, hence, computation time. The efficiency of this algorithm is illustrated by two numerical examples that allow comparison with the known analytical solutions: the plane-wave field behind the caustic in the linearly inhomogeneous layer and the field of a Gaussian beam in a homogeneous medium. Based on the generalized diffraction integral formula for treating the propagation of a laser beam through a paraxial misaligned optical system in the cylindrical coordinate system, we obtain an analytical formula for a hollow Gaussian beam passing through a paraxial misaligned optical system. Furthermore, we also obtain the approximate analytical formula for a hollow Gaussian beam passing through a paraxial circularly apertured misaligned optical system by expanding the hard aperture function into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions. As a numerical example, the propagation properties a hollow Gaussian beam through a misaligned thin lens are studied numerically.  相似文献

在傍轴近似下,推导出了左手材料平板聚焦系统的传输矩阵,并利用ABCD定律得到了高斯光束在左手材料中和经过平板透镜聚焦后的传输公式。高斯光束在左手材料内部和像空间的传输公式的研究表明:像高斯光束和物高斯光束束腰大小一致,即左手材料平板透镜实际上对高斯光束没有聚焦作用。研究同时表明左手材料平板对高斯光束的聚焦与几何光学成像规律完全一致,而不存在一般透镜聚焦时的焦移效应。  相似文献

当高功率激光通过Kerr非线性介质传输时,Kerr效应会严重影响激光的传输特性.实际应用中常遇到像散光束.迄今为止,像散光束传输特性的研究大都局限于在线性介质中的传输,而在非线性介质中传输的研究较少,且还未涉及像散激光束通过含光学系统的Kerr非线性介质传输变换的研究.本文主要研究Kerr效应对聚焦光束像散特性和焦移特性的影响,以及聚焦像散高斯光束的自聚焦焦距和光束焦点调控.在光束扩展情况下,推导出了聚焦像散高斯光束在Kerr非线性介质中传输的束宽、束腰位置和焦移的解析公式,研究表明:在自聚焦介质中,随着自聚焦作用增强(如光束功率增强),光束像散越强,但焦移越小;在自散焦介质中,随着自散焦作用增强(如光束功率增强),光束像散越弱,但焦移越大.另一方面,在光束自聚焦情况下,推导出了自聚焦焦距的解析公式,研究表明利用光束像散可以调控光束焦点个数.  相似文献

研究了傍轴椭圆高斯光束在强非局域非线性介质中的传输特性,得到了其各参量的演化方程 及其精确解析解.通过对束宽演化方程及其精确解析解的进一步分析,发现傍轴椭圆高斯光 束在强非局域非线性介质中传输时,两横向方向束宽作周期性变化.不管初始功率为多大, 光束都将周期性的由椭圆高斯光束演化为圆对称高斯光束,再由圆对称高斯光束演化为椭圆 高斯光束;并且在演化的过程中,椭圆的半长轴和半短轴会作周期性交替变化.另外,在一 定初始功率下,傍轴椭圆高斯光束可以保持某一横向方向的束宽不变,得到光孤子. 关键词: 强非局域非线性介质 非局域非线性薛定谔方程 椭圆高斯光束 参量演化方程 空间孤子  相似文献

In the framework of nonlinear wave optics,we report the evolution process of a dipole breathing wave in lossy nonlocal nonlinear media based on the nonlocal nonlinear Schr?dinger equation.The analytical expression of the dipole breathing wave in such a nonlinear system is obtained by using the variational method.Taking advantage of the analytical expression,we analyze the influences of various physical parameters on the breathing wave propagation,including the propagation loss and the input power on the beam width,the beam intensity,and the wavefront curvature.Also,the corresponding analytical solutions are obtained.The validity of the analysis results is verified by numerical simulation.This study provides some new insights for investigating beam propagation in lossy nonlinear media.  相似文献

对近轴近似条件下求解亥姆霍兹方程得到的高斯光束显式传播公式做了分析,同时,基于基尔霍夫衍射理论,在菲涅耳近似的条件下给出了相应的高斯光束在远场的传播公式,在此基础上,对近轴近似条件做出了定量分析,给出了这个近似条件引入的误差,提出了一种计算高斯光束远场分布的修正方法,并采用有限差分-光束传播方法(FD-BPM)来检验各种方法的准确性。把这种修正方法应用到平面光集成波导器件,如阵列波导光栅(AWG)、蚀刻衍射光栅(EDG)等器件的设计和模拟中,可以大大降低工作的复杂性,同时可以得到精确的结果。  相似文献

从非线性薛定谔方程出发,经严格计算求得了在具有像散情况下,偏振垂直于传播方向的光束在克尔介质中传输的一般特性,所用的计算方法可应用于高斯光束及克尔透镜锁模腔的研究,并能对高功率情形进行计算。研究表明,在有其他锁模启动机制下,不一定要用[dω/dp]p=0<0作为克尔透镜锁模的必要条件。对于光脉冲的压缩来说,椭圆形光阑将优于圆形光阑。  相似文献

The propagation of the Airy–Gaussian beams is studied in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media analytically and numerically. The linear momentum of the analytical Airy–Gaussian beam solution of the Snyder–Mitchell model is not conservational, which is the reason that results in the disagreement between the analytical Airy–Gaussian beam solution and the numerical simulations of the nonlocal nonlinear Schr?dinger equation in the case of strong nonlocality. The quasi-Airy–Gaussian soliton in the Gaussian-shaped response material can be obtained when the parameter χ 0 is large enough, and the patterns of Airy–Gaussian beams are variable periodically in liquid crystal material during propagation.  相似文献

Based on the fact that a hard aperture function can be expanded into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, the approximate analytical expression for the output field distribution of a rectangular flattened Gaussian beam passing through a circular apertured and misaligned paraxial ABCD system is derived. The result brings more convenient for studying its propagation than the usual way by using diffraction integral directly. Some numerical simulations are also given for illustrating the propagation properties of a rectangular flattened Gaussian beam through a circular apertured and misaligned optical system.  相似文献

运用变分法研究了傍轴高斯光束在三维轴对称强非局域介质中的传输特性,得到了光束各参量的演化方程、一个势函数、一个临界功率和一个由强非局域介质特性与初始束宽决定的特征参量ε。通过对势函数的进一步分析,结果表明,作为强非局域模型,必须满足0≤ε<1/3。在此前提下,当初始功率等于临界功率时,可以得到稳定的空间孤子;对于一般情形,束宽则作周期性压缩或展宽变化,也可能将不断展宽。该结果与数值解基本一致。  相似文献

基于广义衍射积分公式和光阑函数的复高斯展开,导出了一洛伦兹光束经一个带圆形光阑失调傍轴光学系统的近似解析传输公式.作为一般公式的特例,还给出了洛伦兹光束经一无光阑失调傍轴光学系统的解析传输式.作为数值计算的例子,运用所得到的公式分析了洛伦兹光束经带光阑失调薄透镜的传输特性.结果表明:不同强度的衍射即圆形光阑半径的大小明显影响衍射光束的归一化强度分布及其传输变化规律. 关键词: 洛伦兹光束 失调傍轴光学系统 光束传输  相似文献

基于强非局域非线性介质中的Snyder-Mitchell模型,利用分离变量法得到了(1 1)维光束传输的厄米-高斯型解析解.比较厄米-高斯型解析解与非局域非线性薛定谔方程的数值解,证实了,在强非局域条件下,该厄米-高斯型解与数值解完全吻合.对厄米-高斯光束的传输特性进行研究,结果表明,光束束宽会出现周期性的压缩或者展宽现象.并且得到了实现厄米-高斯光束稳定传输的临界功率、厄米-高斯孤子解及传输常量,临界功率与厄米-高斯光束的阶数无关,但传输常量随阶数的增加而增加.高斯呼吸子和高斯孤子就是基模厄米-高斯呼吸子和基模厄米-高斯孤子.  相似文献

Based on scalar diffraction theory, propagation properties of beam generated by Gaussian mirror resonator were investigated. By means of Collins diffraction integral formula in the paraxial approximation and based on the fact that a hard aperture function can be expanded into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, an approximate analytical expression for linearly polarized Bessel-Gaussian beams passing through a paraxial ABCD optical system with an annular aperture has been derived. The results provide more convenient for studying their propagation and transformation than the usual way by using diffraction integral directly. By using the analytical expression and the diffraction integral formula some numerical simulations are done to illustrate for the propagation characteristics of a linearly polarized Bessel-Gaussian beam through an optical system with an annular aperture.  相似文献
