Recently, there is crucial interest in the design and fabrication of nanocatalysts for efficient decomposition of organic pollutants in wastewater using visible light. This work reports the assembling fabrication of synergetic photocatalytic Au/TiO2/RGO nanostructures by utilizing the reduced graphene oxide (RGO) as substrate material and efficient separator for electrons and holes. The Au/TiO2 nanostructures with a ≈7 nm TiO2 particles size are dispersed uniformly on RGO nanosheets. UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy verifies that Au/TiO2/RGO nanocomposites show strong absorption of visible light. The degradation efficiency after 1 h for hydroquinone under visible light and UV light is ≈77% and ≈90%, respectively. Under visible light, the calculated apparent rates (k ) of the Au/TiO2/RGO nanocomposites are 0.0112 and 0.0174 min?1 for decomposition of methylene blue and hydroquinone. That are five times greater than that of bare TiO2. The high photocatalytic activity is mainly attributed to the synergy between RGO and Au/TiO2 nanostructure. The strategy of composite nanostructures assembling on RGO is ensured to have a great practicable potential for the designing of high efficient multielement composite nanoparticles catalysts.  相似文献

Fluorinated TiO2 hollow microspheres with three-dimensional hierarchical architecture were prepared by solvothermally treatment using solid microspheres as precursor. The obtained solid and hollow TiO2 microspheres were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (DRS) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The photocatalytic activity of as-prepared solid and hollow TiO2 microspheres was determined by degradation of methyl orange (MO) under visible light irradiation. The results showed that the surface fluorination, the existence of accessible mesopores channels, and the increased light harvesting abilities could remarkably improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 hollow microspheres.  相似文献

In order to get photocatalysts with desired morphologies and enhanced visible light responses, the Fe-doped TiO2 nanorod clusters and monodispersed nanoparticles were prepared by modified hydrothermal and solvothermal method, respectively. The microstructures and morphologies of TiO2 crystals can be controlled by restraining the hydrolytic reaction rates. The Fe-doped photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV-vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis), N2 adsorption-desorption measurement (BET), and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The refinements of the microstructures and morphologies result in the enhancement of the specific surface areas. The Fe3+-dopants in TiO2 lattices not only lead to the significantly extending of the optical responses from UV to visible region but also diminish the recombination rates of the electrons and holes. The photocatalytic activities were evaluated by photocatalytic decomposition of formaldehyde in air under visible light illumination. Compared with P25 (TiO2) and N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles, the Fe-doped photocatalysts show high photocatalytic activities under visible light.  相似文献

A novel method of synthesizing Ti3+-doped TiO2 was proposed. Ti3+-doped TiO2 hollow spheres were prepared with different thickness of carbon shell by using atmospheric pressure plasma jet generated by dual-frequency power sources. The as-synthesized Ti3+-doped TiO2 hollow microspheres were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images, Raman spectra, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV–vis spectra. These results indicated that these samples had mixed phases of anatase and rutile and the structure of hollow sphere varied with different thickness of carbon shell. The Ti-O-C chemical bond was the connection between the TiO2 hollow sphere and carbon layer. Amount of Ti3+ ions were found, which were accompanied with the formation of oxygen vacancies. Meantime, the as-synthesized catalysts also display strong absorption in the visible light region and have a narrow band energy gap. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) was used to observe different excited species in the discharge area. These results showed that the oxygen content had a significant impact on the number of oxygen vacancies. Finally, the photocatalytic activities of as-prepared samples were evaluated by decomposition of rhodamine B aqueous solution, which showed better photocatalytic activity under UV–vis light irradiation.  相似文献

In this research, Fe-doped TiO2 nanoparticles with various Fe concentrations (0. 0.1, 1, 5 and 10 wt%) were prepared by a sol–gel method. Then, nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), BET surface area, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The photocatalytic activity of the nano-particles was evaluated through degradation of reactive red 198 (RR 198) under UV and visible light irradiations. XRD results revealed that all samples contained only anatase phase. DRS showed that the Fe doping in the titania induced a significant red shift of the absorption edge and then the band gap energy decreased from 3 to 2.1 eV. Photocatalytic results indicated that TiO2 had a highest photocatalytic decolorization of the RR 198 under UV irradiation whereas photocatalytic decolorization of the RR 198 under visible irradiation increased in the presence of Fe-doped TiO2 nanoparticles. Among the samples, Fe-1 wt% doped TiO2 nanoparticles showed the highest photocatalytic decolorization of RR198 under visible light irradiation.  相似文献

Nitrogen doped TiO2 nanoparticles decorated on graphene sheets are successfully synthesized by a low-temperature hydrothermal method. The resulting GR-N/TiO2 composites are characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The optical properties are studied using UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), which confirms that the spectral responses of the composite catalysts are extended to the visible-light region and show a significant reduction in band gap energy from 3.18 to 2.64 eV. Photoluminescence emission spectra verify that GR-N/TiO2 composites possess better charge separation capability than pure TiO2. The photocatalytic activity is tested by degradation of methyl orange (MO) dye under visible light irradiation. The results demonstrate that GR-N/TiO2 composites can effectively photodegrade MO, showing an impressive photocatalytic enhancement over pure TiO2. The dramatically enhanced activity of composite photocatalysts can be attributed to great adsorption of dyes, enhanced visible light absorption and efficient charge separation and transfer processes. This work may provide new insights into the design of novel composite photocatalysts system with efficient visible light activity.  相似文献

The photodegradation of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/titanium oxide (TiO2) nanofibers under visible light is described, something that has not been previously reported in the literature. Visible light photocatalytic electrospun PVDF/TiO2 nanofiber webs with anatase TiO2 concentration varying from 0% to 20% (0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, 10%, and 20%) are produced, and their ability to degrade a toxic pollutant, Rhodamine B (RhB), is studied. Photodegradation study using UV–vis spectroscopy on PVDF/TiO2 nanofiber webs (with TiO2 concentration of 20%) shows that 80% of RhB is degraded within 6 h at the wavelength of 546 nm, which clearly falls within the visible spectra. The color of RhB solvent catalyzed by PVDF/TiO2 nanofiber webs gradually changes from red to orange, then to yellow, further to light yellow till colorless, which suggests the complete photodegradation of RhB under visible light. To estimate the rate of photodegradation, the reaction constant k is calculated. Based on the k value, PVDF/TiO2 nanofiber webs with 20% TiO2 concentration show the highest degradation rate compared to other PVDF/TiO2 nanofiber webs and pure TiO2 nanoparticles. This study proves the viability of TiO2‐based nanofibers to have catalytic capabilities under low‐energy visible light.  相似文献

The nanoparticles of TiO2 modified with carbon and iron were synthesized by sol-gel followed solvothermal method at low temperature. Its chemical composition and optical absorption were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photoluminescence emission spectroscopy (PL), UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). It was found that carbon and iron modification causes the absorption edge of TiO2 to shift the visible light region. Fe(III) cation could be doped into the matrix of TiO2, by which could hinder the recombination rate of excited electrons/holes. Superior photocatalytic activity of TiO2 modified with carbon and iron was observed for the decomposition of acid orange 7 (AO7) under visible light irradiation. The synergistic effects of carbon and iron in modified TiO2 nanoparticles were responsible for improving visible light photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

A mesoporous S,I-codoped TiO2 photocatalyst with high visible light photocatalytic activity was synthesized through the hydrolysis and condensation of titanium isopropoxide with thiourea and iodic acid as the precursors. The as-prepared catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-vis diffuse reflectance (DRS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier translation infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and N2 adsorption. The results showed that the cations of S6+ and I5+ could substitute for some of the lattice titanium (Ti4+). The S,I-codoping forms the new bands above the valence band and narrows the band-gap of the TiO2, then shifts the absorption edge from UV light region to visible light range. The activity of the catalyst was examined by photodegradation of methylene blue in an aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. The activity of the S,I-codoped catalyst is far superior to that of single S or I-doped TiO2 counterpart. The high visible light photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the strong absorption of light, well-crystalline anatase phase, and mesoporous microstructure.  相似文献

In this paper, WxTi1−xO2 solid solutions (x = 0.000, 0.005, 0.010, 0.015, and 0.020) microspheres were synthesized with an aerosol-assisted flow synthesis method. The resulting samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nitrogen sorption, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (DRS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activities of the as-prepared catalysts were measured by the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm). All the solid solutions exhibited higher photocatalytic activities than pure TiO2 and the W0.015Ti0.985O2 solid solution possessed the highest photocatalytic activity. The degradation constant of RhB on W0.015Ti0.985O2 solid solution catalyst was about 15 times of that of the pure TiO2 and 25 times of that of Degussa P25, respectively. This study provides an effective method to prepare visible light photocatalysts on a large scale.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles co-doped with N and Fe were prepared via modified sol-gel process. The products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It is shown that the prepared TiO2 particles were less than 10 nm with narrow particle size distribution. The addition of MCM-41 caused the formation of Ti-O-Si bond which fixed the TiO2 on MCM-41 surface, thus restricted the agglomeration and growth of TiO2 particles. The photocatalytic performance in the degradation of methylene blue showed that N, Fe co-doped TiO2 exhibited much higher photocatalytic activity than doped sample with nitrogen or Fe3+ alone under both UV and visible light. N, Fe co-doping decreased the loss of doping N during the degradation reaction, thus increased the photocatalytic stability. It was also found that the nitridation time had significant influence on the photocatalytic activity of prepared TiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

TiO2 was treated by water in an ultrasonic bath, resulting in the enhancement of the photocatalytic activity for the decomposition of methylene blue under UV and visible light irradiation. No change in the crystallinity and optical properties of TiO2 by the H2O-treatment was observed. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and FT-IR data revealed that the C impurities were oxidized by this treatment, indicating that the change in the structure of the C impurities plays a pivotal role in the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.  相似文献

We investigated the influence of the crystal structure of TiO2 and the use of different TiO2 precursors on the properties and photocatalytic activity of carbon nanotube (CNTs)–titania composites. We found that the crystal structure and properties of starting TiO2 nanomaterial significantly affected the effect of CNTs incorporation on the photocatalytic activity under simulated solar and visible light illumination (simulated solar illumination with UV-blocking filter). In case of significant photocatalytic activity under visible light illumination (anatase TiO2), likely due to the presence of native defects, composites exhibited lower activity under visible illumination only, but higher activity under simulated solar illumination. The opposite trends were observed for P25 (anatase + rutile) and rutile TiO2, where incorporation of CNTs resulted in a significant increase of photocatalytic activity under visible illumination. Thus, control over crystal structure and native defects is essential for the development of efficient visible light activated photocatalysts.  相似文献

In order to improve visible light photocatalytic activities of the nanometer TiO2, a novel and efficient Cr,S-codoped TiO2 (Cr-TiO2-S) photocatalyst was prepared by precipitation-doping method. The crystalline structure, morphology, particle size, and chemical structure of Cr-TiO2-S were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) techniques, respectively. Results indicate that the doping of Cr and S, cause absorption edge shifts to the visible light region (λ > 420 nm) compare to the pure TiO2, reduces average size of the TiO2 crystallites, enhances desired lattice distortion of Ti, promotes separation of photo-induced electron and hole pair, and thus improves pollutant decomposition under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic activities of Cr-TiO2-S nanoparticles were evaluated using the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) as probe reaction under the irradiation of UV and visible light and it was observed that the Cr-TiO2-S photocatalyst shows higher visible photocatalytic activity than the pure TiO2. The optimal Cr-TiO2-S concentration to obtain the highest photocatalytic activity was 5 mol% for both of Cr and S.  相似文献

A visible light responsive N-doped TiO2 was prepared via a reduction-nitridation procedure by nonthermal plasma treatment. X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption, UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared TiO2 samples. The plasma treatment did not change the phase composition and particle sizes of TiO2 samples, but extended its absorption edges to the visible light region. The photocatalytic activities were tested in the degradation of an aqueous solution of a reactive dyestuff, methylene blue, under visible light. The photocatalytic activities of TiO2 prepared by reduction-nitridation procedure were much higher than that of samples prepared by simple nitridation treatment. The enhanced activity was ascribed to the substitutional N-doping and appropriate concentration of oxygen vacancies. TOHN10 prepared by reduction-nitridation procedure exhibited excellent photocatalytic stability. A possible mechanism for the photocatalysis was proposed.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide photocatalysts co-doped with iron (III) and lanthanum were prepared by a facile sol-gel method. The structure of catalysts was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activities of the samples were evaluated by the degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solutions under visible light (λ > 420 nm) and UV light irradiation. Doping with Fe3+ results in a lower anatase to rutile (A-R) phase transformation temperature for TiO2 particles, while doping with La3+ inhibits the A-R phase transformation, and co-doping samples indicate that Fe3+ partly counteracts the effect of La3+ on the A-R transformation property of TiO2. Fe-TiO2 has a long tail extending up the absorption edges to 600 nm, whereas La-TiO2 results in a red shift of the absorption. However, Fe and La have synergistic effect in the absorption of TiO2. Compared with Fe3+ and La3+ singly doped TiO2, the co-doped simple exhibits excellent visible light and UV light activity and the synergistic effect of Fe3+ and La3+ is responsible for improving the photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

TiO2 hollow nanospheres were prepared using silicon oxide as a template. N-doped titanium oxide hollow spheres, TiO2−xNx were synthesized by reacting TiO2 hollow spheres with thiourea at 500 °C. XRD and XPS data showed that oxygen was successfully substituted by nitrogen through the nitrogen-doping reaction, and finally N-doped TiO2 hollow spheres were formed. The N-doped TiO2 hollow spheres showed new absorption shoulder in visible light region so that they were expected to exhibit photocatalytic activity in the visible light. The photocatalytic activity of N-doped TiO2 hollow spheres under visible light was similar to that of normal spherical TiO2−xNx in spite of the structural difference.  相似文献

TiN/TiO2 nanoparticle photocatalyst was prepared by ball milling of TiO2 in H2O solution doped with TiN. The photocatalyst was characterized by UV–Vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Based on the results of the characterization, the mechanism of the increase in photocatalytic activity was investigated. The results show that when the amount of doped TiN is 0.15 wt%, the photocatalytic activity of the TiN/TiO2 is at its peak. Compared with TiO2, the photoabsorption wavelength range of the TiN/TiO2 photocatalyst red-shifts about 30 nm, and the photoabsorption intensity increases as well. The photocatalytic activities of the photocatalyst are higher than that of TiO2 under UV and visible light irradiation. The increase of surface Ti3+ reactive center and the extension of the photoabsorption wavelength are the main factors for the increase in the photocatalytic activity of the TiN/TiO2. Doped TiN neither changes the TiO2 crystal phase nor creates new crystal phase by ball milling.  相似文献
