Design and fabrication of triangular inner cladding double-clad ytterbium doped fibre for high power lasers 下载免费PDF全文
To improve the performance of double clad high power fibre lasers, inner cladding design plays a significant role. A triangular inner cladding and silica structure second cladding with large air holes go acquire high inner cladding numerical aperture are designed. Single mode and high power output of the fibre lasers need the double clad Yb doped fibre with large core. A fibre with annular refractive index distribution core and low numerical aperture to acquire a large mode area fibre core is designed and fabricated. Furthermore co-doping with aluminium (A1) has been used to improve the solubility of ytterbium (Yb) into silicate network, and the core absorption coefficients of two Yb doped fibres are compared with different A1 concentration experimentally. 相似文献

We report an all-fiber two-stage high power pulsed amplifier, seeded with a 1550nm, 1 kHz repetition rate rectangular pulse, and based on Er/Yb co-doped double clad fiber. All the characteristics are measured in the experiment. The maximal slope efficiency is 22.56%, which is the highest we know of at such a low repetition rate, and the maximal output signal power is 1W. The various factors that affect the pulsed amplifier performance are analyzed. A high output power while keeping high power conversion efficiency can be obtained with careful selection of the input power, pump power and repetition rate. The experimental results show that the crucial parameters should be optimized when designing all-fiber pulsed amplifiers. 相似文献

对掺Yb3+双包层光纤激光器不同参数情况下的输出功率和增益分布进行了数值模拟,分析了一端泵浦和双端泵浦方式下输出特性的差异,激光沿光纤长度方向的分布,输出功率与光纤长度、腔镜反射率及泵浦功率的关系。结果显示:两端泵浦较一端泵浦增益更加平坦,输出功率也稍高;当泵浦光波长为975nm时,输出激光功率对光纤长度更为敏感,最佳光纤长度相对于泵浦光波长为915nm时短且转化效率高;在大功率长光纤的情况下,光纤有损耗时输出功率随输出腔镜反射率的增加单调地减小,无损耗时输出功率不随输出腔镜反射率变化。 相似文献

从双包层光纤激光器的速率方程和光传输方程出发,建立数学模型,进行数值计算并对掺钕光纤激光器输出功率沿光纤的分布以及不同光纤长度下抽运功率和输出功率沿光纤的分布进行了数值模拟。以808nm半导体激光器为抽运源,掺钕双包层光纤为增益介质,并以KTP作为倍频晶体,计算并模拟其倍频效率和相位匹配角。最后,对光纤激光器及其倍频的实现进行了模拟研究。结果表明,该光纤激光器能够高效率地实现可见光输出。 相似文献

The use of short lengths of large core phosphate glass fibre, doped with high concentrations of Er or Er:Yb represents an attractive route to achieving high power erbium doped fibre amplifiers (EDFAs) and lasers (EDFLs). With the aim of investigating the potential of achieving diffraction limited output from such large core fibres, we present experimental results of fundamental mode propagation through a 20 cm length of passive 300 μm core multimode fibre when the input is a well-aligned Gaussian beam. Through careful control of fibre geometry, input beam parameters and alignment, we measured an output M2 of 1.1 ± 0.05. The fibre had a numerical aperture of 0.389, implying a V number of 236.8. To our knowledge, this is the largest core fibre through which diffraction limited fundamental mode propagation has been demonstrated. Although the results presented here relate to undoped fibre, they do provide the practical basis for a new generation of EDFAs and EDFLs. 相似文献

We demonstrate a high efficiency 1083 nm fibre amplifier tandem pumped by a 1030 nm fibre laser. The 1030 nm fibre laser is coupled into a 25 m long single clad ytterbium doped fibre via a high power wave division multiplexer to core pump the 1083 nm signal laser. An output power of 4.5 W and a power conversion efficiency of 76.6% are achieved without power-roll. The performance of the amplifier can be improved by optimizing the gain fibre length. 相似文献

A neodymium-doped side-pumped double-clad fiber laser operating at 1.06 µm is described. We report here, what is, to our knowledge, the first exclusively repetitive side-pumping scheme with two monomode laser diodes. Side-pumping has been realized by prism-fiber couplers. A pump-light-loss analysis at the pump positions has been performed. An output power of 13.5 mW is obtained with both diode lasers. The highest slope efficiency of 66% with respect to absorbed pump power at 809 nm is achieved when pumping with only one diode. 相似文献

We report the work on erbium:ytterbium-doped double clad fibre laser (EYDFL), that is pumped at 976 nm. The maximum output power generated is 13.6 W in 1550 nm region with a slope efficiency of about 21%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest power reported from an EYDFL, that uses commercially available off-the-shelf large mode area Er:Yb-doped double-clad fibre. 相似文献

A high efficient LD (laser diode) pumped Tm3+ doped double clad silica fiber laser with an intravacity biconical taper was reported. A biconical taper located ~3 cm from the output end of the fiber laser was fabricated by heating and stretching method with a length 1.5 cm and waist diameter ~20 µm. The slope efficiency was 49.8% with respected to the launched pump power, and the maximum output power was 1.97 W. Pre and post output laser power ratio was ~10. This fiber laser was compared with other three biconical tapered fiber lasers (the same fiber with different tapers) and a uniform geometry fiber laser. With intracavity biconical tapers, fiber lasers’ thresholds were ~1 W higher than the fiber laser without the taper (1.97 W). The pump end’s slope efficiencies of fiber lasers with tapers were 3–5% in contrast with 37.6% of the uniform one. After tapered, the pre and post laser power ratios were much higher than the un-tapered one’s, but not changed much with the launched pump power. 相似文献

提出了一种利用45°半透半反分束镜和角锥反射器实现两路光纤激光器的能量相互注入,从而获得相干合成激光输出的新方法,分析了其锁相原理.在实验上成功实现了两路独立振荡双包层光纤激光器的互注入锁相输出,在远场观察到了清晰稳定的干涉条纹(可见度约0.57),获得了超过10W的相干合成激光输出,功率合成效率约为76%.实验表明,这种互注入锁相方法可以在更高功率条件下运行,是光纤激光相干合成领域一种有前途的新技术.

A high efficiency 7 × 1 multimode fiber coupler using the method of fusion and tapering is reported. This coupler can be applied
to combine laser power, ad it can be used as a 1 × 7 splitter with reversible simultaneously. In the experiment, for combiner,
coupling output power of 1032 W is obtained with the input power of 1066 W. The total coupling efficiency is 96.8%. The average
insertion loss of each input fiber is 0.14 dB at ∼150 W input power. To splitter, the sum of 7 output ports power is 294 W
with the input power of 341 W, and the insertion loss is about 13.8%. This fiber coupler can be applied in pumping all-fiber

In the paper, the phase-locked emitters in multi-core optical fibres for high power fibre lasers are presented. The influence
of the normalized frequency and diameters of the cores on the shape of the pattern in the Fraunhofer diffraction region has
been analysed. The simulation of coupling coefficient between cores influences on phase-locking and in the consequence on
the far-field pattern of the fibre laser, based on the analyzed multi-core optical fibre, were performed. In the analyzed
fibre laser, while exchanging power of the generated radiation between two adjacent cores on the fibre length (L = 5 m) within
the range of 4–10%, the radiation becomes phased. Having satisfied this condition, in the far-field low-divergence, high-power
laser beam (supermode) is attained. 5-core double clad optical fibre doped with neodymium ions was fabricated. Luminescence
