Yttrium aluminum garnet nanoparticles both undoped and doped with lanthanide ions (Ce3+, Eu3+, Dy3+ and Tb3+) having average size around 30 (±3 nm) nm were prepared by glycine nitrate combustion method followed by annealing at a relatively low temperature of 800 °C. Increase in the annealing temperature has been found to improve the luminescence intensity and for 1200 °C heated samples there exists strong energy transfer from Tb3+ to Ce3+ ions in YAG:Ce(2%),Tb(2%) nanoparticles as revealed by luminescence studies. Co-doping the YAG:Ce nanoparticles with Eu3+ results in significant decrease in the emission intensity of both Ce3+ and Eu3+ ions and this has been attributed to the oxidation of Ce3+ to Ce4+ and reduction of Eu3+ to Eu2+ ions. Dy3+ co-doping did not have any effect on the Ce3+ emission as there is no energy transfer between Dy3+ and Ce3+ ions.  相似文献

文章用提拉法生长出Li6Gd(BO3)3:Ce晶体,并对其光谱性能与发光过程进行了探索. 借助于真空紫外-紫外透过光谱测试,发现晶体的透过光谱中存在Ce3+离子和Gd3+的特征吸收峰,同时还存在与Ce4+离子相关的电荷迁移带. 对晶体的真空紫外-紫外激发发射光谱进行研究发现,在晶体存在着Ce3+离子的5d→4f辐射跃迁发光与Gd3+离子的4f→4f辐射跃迁发光,而且存在着Gd3+→Ce3+之间的能量传递. 对Li6Gd(BO3)3:Ce晶体的X射线与γ射线激发发射光谱研究可知,晶体在高能射线激发下的闪烁光主要是Ce3+离子的发光. 关键词: 6Gd(BO3)3:Ce晶体')" href="#">Li6Gd(BO3)3:Ce晶体 真空紫外-紫外透过光谱 真空紫外-紫外激发发射光谱 能量传递  相似文献

At 4.2-350 K, the steady-state and time-resolved emission and excitation spectra and luminescence decay kinetics were studied under excitation in the 2.5-15 eV energy range for the undoped and Ce3+-doped Lu3Al5O12 (LuAG) single-crystalline films grown by liquid phase epitaxy method from the PbO-based flux. The spectral bands arising from the single Pb2+-based centres were identified. The processes of energy transfer from the host lattice to Pb2+ and Ce3+ ions and from Pb2+ to Ce3+ ions were investigated. Competition between Pb2+ and Ce3+ ions in the processes of energy transfer from the LuAG crystal lattice was evidenced especially in the exciton absorption region. Due to overlap of the 3.61 eV emission band of Pb2+ centres with the 3.6 eV absorption band of Ce3+ centres, an effective nonradiative energy transfer from Pb2+ ions to Ce3+ ions takes place, resulting in the appearance of slower component in the luminescence decay kinetics of Ce3+ centres and decrease of the Ce3+-related luminescence intensity.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to investigation of the processes of excitation energy transfer between the host cations (Tb3+ ions) and the activators (Ce3+ and Eu3+ ions) in single-crystalline films of Tb3Al5O12:Ce,Eu (TbAG:Ce,Eu) garnet which is considered as a promising luminescent material for the conversion of LED's radiation. The cascade process of excitation energy transfer is shown to be realized in TbAG:Ce,Eu: (i) from Tb3+ ions to Ce3+ and Eu3+ ions; (ii) from Ce3+ ions to Eu3+ ions by means of dipole-dipole interaction and through Tb3+ ion sublattice.  相似文献

ESR spectra of Ce3+ ions in polycrystalline Sr2B5O9Br were studied, and the two crystallographic positions of the Ce3+ ion in this compound were identified on the basis of the data obtained. The ESR spectrum of Ce3+ ions with local charge compensation contains a broad line indicating the existence of several types of charge compensation. ESR spectra of Ce3+ ions in samples activated additionally by K+ ions are similar to those of the regular Ce3+ centers, which indicates that the effect of the univalent cation on Ce3+ is negligible.  相似文献

Abstract

Spectroscopic properties of Ce3+ ions in GdAlO3 crystal are presented. At least three Ce3+ nonequivalent centres (multisites) are present in this crystal. Energy transfer from the Ce3+ main in the UV emitting centres to the Ce3+ green emitting centres is observed. Ce3+ fluorescence decays are either fast (1.5–20 ns) or slower due to complicated processes of energy transfer and migration (Ce3+)i → (Gd3+)n-steps → (Ce3+)j (energy transfer through Gd3+ sublattice).  相似文献

用高温熔融法制备了以SiO2-B2O3-Al2O3-Gd2O3为基质系统Ce3+掺杂的玻璃样品, 测试样品的密度、紫外——可见透射光谱、紫外激发光谱和主要的闪烁性能, 并且把一部分闪烁性能和PbWO晶体及BGO晶体做比较. 着重研究了不同Ce3+掺杂浓度与Gd3+ 离子的含量对玻璃样品闪烁性能的影响规律. 结果表明: 玻璃样品具有较大的密度; 样品的X射线激发发射光谱发射峰位置都在390 nm左右, 当Ce3+ 离子的掺杂浓度为1.0 mol%(摩尔分数)、Gd2O3含量为15 mol%时, 玻璃样品的发光峰强度达到BGO晶体发光强度的90%; 同样验证了Ce3+ 离子具有浓度猝灭效应; Gd3+可以敏化Ce3+离子发光, 但是Gd3+离子到达一定浓度时, 反而会产生猝灭效应, 降低了Ce3+ 离子的发光. Ce3+ 离子掺杂SiO2-B2O3-Al2O3-Gd2O3系统的闪烁玻璃有望替代闪烁晶体广泛应用于高能物理中.  相似文献

In this paper, we report enhanced luminescence of Mg-co-doped silica gels, which were prepared by a sol-gel method. The total amount of Ce3+ ions was kept constant in this experiment at 0.5 mol% total doping. Structural, morphological, thermal, optical absorption and photoluminescence studies were employed. The XRD spectra show that all the samples are non-crystalline. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that the particles were in nano-range and spherical in shape. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) of samples depict that the presence of dopant and co-dopant decreases the endothermic peak temperature; while Ce3+ increase the yield, Mg2+ reduces it. UV analyses revealed that the presence of Ce3+ ions increases transmittance but lowers absorbance of annealed silica xerogels, while that of Mg2+ ions reduces transmittance but increases absorbance. Luminescence intensities were compared for different gels with and without Mg particles by varying the different concentrations of Mg. Silica containing Mg2+ ions had broad blue emission due to energy transfer from Mg2+ to Ce3+, which is due to radiative recombination. An increase in luminescence intensity was observed as the Mg2+ to Ce3+ ratio increased for the range investigated.  相似文献

Abstract

Nominally pure and Dy-doped BaF2 crystals were investigated concerning their optical absorption (OA) and thermoluminescence (TL) properties. Peaks at 120—150 and 200°C were observed for a heating rate of 1.7°C/s. The TL response for γ-rays and the TL emission spectra were obtained for these peaks. Except for the purest crystal, all BaF2 crystals produced OA bands before irradiation typical of Ce3+ ions. After irradiation, Dy doped crystals showed bands due to Dy2+ ions. A nominally pure sample gave bands related to Ce2+ ions and photochromic centers of Ce3+ ions. and photochromic centres of Ce3+ ions. The correlation between some OA bands and TL peaks is discussed.  相似文献

The photoluminescence of Ce3+, Tb3+ and Mn2+ ions was investigated in the Zn(PO3)2 glass. The blue and green emissions of Tb3+ ions and the red emission of Mn2+ ions are enhanced upon UV excitation through a non-radiative energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ and Mn2+ ions. The efficiency of this transfer was estimated in at least 62%. It is demonstrated that this glass activated with three ions (Ce3+, Tb3+ and Mn2+) can generate white light emission (x=0.420 and y=0.423 chromaticity coordinates and 3440 K colour temperature) under excitation at 254 nm, i.e., using an AlGaN-based LED as excitation source.  相似文献

The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of Ce3+ ions in single crystals of yttrium aluminum garnet have been investigated. It has been found that, in addition to the usually observed EPR signals of Ce3+ ions located in the regular environment at dodecahedral sites of the crystal lattice, the spectra contain a group of less intense anisotropic lines with g-factors close to the corresponding parameters of Ce3+ ions in the regular environment. It has been concluded that the observed satellite lines belong to the family of Ce3+ ions in the immediate vicinity of which there are permutation defects that lead to a change in the strength and symmetry of the crystal field in the vicinity of the paramagnetic center.  相似文献

Rare earth ions (Ce3+, Eu2+) activated Ca3MgSi2O8 (CMSO) phosphors have been synthesized using solid-state reaction method in 95%N2+5%H2 reduction atmosphere at elevated temperatures by varying Eu2+ concentration from 0.0075 to 0.0300 at the fixed Ce0.03 concentration to study their photoluminescence (PL) properties. An energy transfer occurs from Ce3+ to Eu2+ through a significant overlap of Eu2+ excitation spectrum with Ce3+ emission spectrum in CMSO, together with the systematic relative decrease and increase in emission bands of Ce3+ and Eu2+, respectively, have been observed. To support the phenomenon, diffuse reflectance spectra show various absorption levels corresponding to Ce3+, Eu2+, and/or mixture of both rare earth ions. An optimum emission was realized at 0.0150 of Eu2+ via. energy transfer from Ce3+ ion. By utilizing the principle of energy transfer, the critical distance (R c ) between activator ions was found to be 18.64 Å. The CIE chromaticity coordinates measured on the Ca3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Eu2+ phosphors excited under ultraviolet (365 nm) source shows the values lie in cool white light region could be applied to solid state lighting.  相似文献

Photochemical properties of Ce3+:SrAlF5 and Ce3+,Yb3+:SrAlF5 single crystals together with spectroscopic and kinetic characteristics of several optically nonequivalent impurity centers and energy transfer between them are described. It is shown that co-activation by Yb3+ ions effectively suppresses color centers in Ce,Yb:SAF crystals. It was found out that in Ce,Yb:SAF crystals Yb ions exist simultaneously in 2+ and 3+ valent state. Three types of optically nonequivalent luminescent centers corresponding to the doublets in luminescence spectrum centered at 290, 305 and 370 nm (CeI, CeII, CeIII, respectively) have been observed. Analysis of luminescence spectra and decays leads to the conclusion that there is no energy transfer between either cerium centers or from Ce3+ to Yb2+ apart from the CeIII center which luminescence is slightly quenched by Yb2+.  相似文献

The processes of excitation energy transfer in phosphors based on single-crystal Tb3Al5O12:Ce (TbAG:Ce) and Tb3Al5O12:Ce,Eu (TbAG:Ce,Eu) garnet films have been investigated. These films are considered to be promising materials for screens for X-ray images and luminescence converters of blue LED radiation. The conditions for excitation energy transfer from the matrix (Tb3+ cations) to Ce3+ and Eu3+ ions in TbAG:Ce and TbAG:Ce,Eu phosphors have been analyzed in detail. It is established that a cascade process of excitation energy transfer from Tb3+ ions to Ce3+ and Eu3+ ions and from Ce3+ ions to Eu3+ ions is implemented in TbAG:Ce,Eu via dipole-dipole interaction and through the Tb3+ cation sublattice.  相似文献

Enhanced green photoluminescence and cathodoluminescence (CL) from Tb3+ ions due to co-doping with Ce3+ ions were observed from SiO2:Ce,Tb powder phosphors prepared by a sol-gel technique. Blue emission from the Ce3+ ions was completely suppressed by Tb co-doping, presumably due to energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+. In addition, the green CL intensity from SiO2:Ce,Tb degraded by ∼50% when the powders were irradiated for 10 h with a 2 keV, 54 mA/cm2 beam of electrons in an ultra-high vacuum chamber containing either 1×10−8 or 1×10−7 Torr O2. Desorption of oxygen from the surface was observed during the decrease of CL intensity. The mechanisms for energy transfer from Ce3+ ions to Tb3+ ions to enhance the green luminescence, and mechanisms for desorption of oxygen from the phosphor surface that would result in decreased CL intensity are discussed.  相似文献

A detailed investigation about the effect of Sc2O3: 1 mol%Ho3+/5 mol%Yb3+ co-doped with Ce4+ ions prepared by sol-gel methods was performed systematically. Under the excitation of 980 nm laser diode, both green emission (553 nm, 5F4/5S25I8) and red emission (672 nm, 5F55I8) were both observed in the emission spectra of the samples, which were found to be two-photon process and sensitized by Yb3+ ions. With the increasing of Ce4+ ions, the up-conversion green emission intensity are increased by 6.52, 8.69, 10.85, 13.92 and 16.66 fold, corresponding to the Ce4+ ions concentrations from 5 mol% to 13 mol%, respectively. The number of photons are necessary to populate the upper emitting state decreases to 2 and the infrared absorption coefficient is reduced, when the Ce4+ ions concentration increase to 13 mol%. Ce4+ ions play an important role in tailoring the local crystal field around Ho3+ ions, lowering the highest phonon cut-off energy of matrix and reducing the infrared absorption coefficient, thus hindering the non-radiative processes, which contribute to the increased emission intensity. The excellent enhancement makes it a promising multifunctional optical luminescence material.  相似文献

Low temperature quenching and high efficiency CaSc2O4:Ce3+ (CSO:Ce3+) phosphors co-doped with Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ ions were prepared by a solid state method and the phase-forming, morphology, luminescence and application properties of these phosphors were investigated. The results showed that co-doping of Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ ions can improve the luminescence properties and decrease temperature quenching of CSO:Ce3+ phosphor remarkably. High efficiency green-light-emitting diodes were fabricated with the prepared phosphors and InGaN blue-emitting (∼460 nm) chips. The good performances of the green-light-emitting LEDs made from co-doped CSO:Ce3+ phosphors confirm the luminescence enhancement and indicate that Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ co-doped CSO:Ce3+ phosphors are suitable candidates for the fabrication of high efficiency white LEDs.  相似文献

The doping effects of La3+ ions on the photoluminescence properties and color tunability of (Mg, Mn)(Y, Ce, La)4Si3O13 phosphors have been elaborated in this study. On increasing the La3+ concentration in the host, tunability of excitation wavelength is achieved first, which in turn leads to the blue shift in the wavelength of Ce3+ emission. The high-energy emission shift of Ce3+ ions results from the change in the crystal field around Ce3+ ions. With the incorporation of La3+ ions, the chromaticity coordinates shift towards white-light region showing the tunable characteristics. Moreover, the correlated color temperature (CCT) change from warm white to cool white light region with different concentration of La3+ ions. The variation of different excitation wavelength tunes the emission thus augmenting the probability of (Mg, Mn)(Y, Ce, La)4Si3O13 phosphors for potential application in optical devices.  相似文献
