 在2 MeV直线感应加速器注入器平台上研究了采用浸渍涂覆方法制备的大面积碳纳米管阴极发射体的强流发射特性。研究结果表明:在脉冲高压电场下,碳纳米管阴极具有强流电子束发射能力,发射电流密度较大;碳纳米管阴极发射电子过程为场致等离子体发射。实验过程中,阴极端取样电阻环收集到的最大发射电流达350 A,阳极端法拉第筒收集的发射电流为167 A,最大阴极发射电流密度为19.4 A/cm2。  相似文献

为了探索杆箍缩二极管(RPD)在冲击加载下物质低密度区成像应用中的可行性,开展了低电压(≤500 kV)运行条件下RPD箍缩物理特性模拟研究。基于Particle-in-cell(PIC)模拟方法,从二极管加载电压幅值、阴极盘厚度、阴阳电极孔径比等方面开展了二极管模拟,从电子箍缩效率、质子流、电子利用率、电场和磁场分布等角度对箍缩物理过程进行了分析。模拟表明:低电压运行条件下普通结构二极管电流较低,不能为电子提供足够的磁场力从而导致较低的电子箍缩效率;采用组合杆结构,并优化阳极杆到轫致辐射靶区的过渡区设计,是在低电压条件下实现小焦斑、高剂量辐射光源的值得探索的技术途径。  相似文献

A triode crossed field tube has been operated as a high voltage on-off switch tube. A third, partially transparent (grid) electrode is interposed between the anode and cathode and electrically tied to the cathode by a grid leak resistor. High voltage is first applied to the anode and cathode; the magnetic field is then raised to the conduction level (~ 0.01 Tesla). Ignition does not occur because the magnetic field is too low in the grid-anode gap and the electric field is zero in the cathode-grid gap. Pulsing the grid positive relative to the cathode (~ 1 kV) then results in breakdown of the cathode-grid gap; plasma comunication between the two gaps then fully ignites the tube and closes the main power circuit. Grid ignition has been achieved at 50 kV as well as grid ignition followed by current interruption against 10 kV. These levels were limited by the use of a modified, laboratory tube and not by the physics of the technique.  相似文献

This article reports about the ion sheath thickness variation occurring in front of a negatively biased plate immersed in the target plasma region of a double plasma device. The target plasma is produced due to the local ionization of neutral gas by the high energetic electrons coming from the source region (main discharge region). It is observed that for an increase in cathode voltage (filament bias voltage) in the source region, the ion flux into the plate increases. As a result, the sheath at the plate contracts. Again, for an increase in source anode voltage (magnetic cage bias), the ion flux to the plate decreases. As a result, the sheath expands at the plate. The ion sheath formed at the separation grid of the device is found to expand for an increase in cathode voltage and it contracts for an increase in the anode voltage of the main discharge region. One important observation is that the applied anode bias can control the Bohm speed of the ions towards the separation grid. Furthermore, it is observed that the ion current collected by the separation grid is independent of changes in plasma density in the diffusion region but is highly dependent on the source plasma parameters. The transition of a low-current discharge with a self-heated hollow cathode to a high-current discharge is studied, and stability conditions for the latter in the pulsed–periodic mode with a current of 0.1–1.0 kA, pulse width of 0.1–1.0 ms, and a pulse repetition rate of 0.1–1.0 kHz are determined. The thermal conditions of the hollow cathode are analyzed, and the conclusion is drawn that the emission current high density is due to pulsed self-heating of the cathode’s surface layer. Conditions for stable emission from a plasma cathode with a grid acting as a plasma boundary using such a discharge are found at low accelerating voltage (100–200 eV) and a gas pressure of 0.1–0.4 Pa. The density of the ion current from a plasma generated by a pulsed beam with a current of 100 A is found to reach 0.1 A/cm2. Probe diagnostics data for the emitting and beam plasmas in the electron source are presented, and a mechanism behind the instability of electron emission from the plasma is suggested on their basis.  相似文献

The operation of three types of experimental high voltage microwave-triggered switches developed by the University of St. Andrews and DRA Malvern is described. The POLOTRON and the microwave-triggered three-gap-switch (MTGS) are closing switches and the microwave-triggered tacitron, (MITTON) is a closing and opening switch. The switches are robust hydrogen thyratron type devices, with an annular geometry, where closure is achieved using microwave fields to ionize the low pressure gas within the switch. In the case of the MITTON, the switch is opened by the application of a negative bias voltage to a large area metal grid. The POLOTRON is designed for fast switching applications. Its annular geometry results in an inherent low inductance and anode fall-times of less than 3 ns have been measured for a cold-cathode POLOTRON at charging voltages up to 30 kV. The MTGS, also a cold cathode switch, was developed for use in the DUOTRON transient generator (a voltage doubler). Output voltages of up to 16 kV have been measured at repetition rates of 90 Hz. The MITTON has closing characteristics similar to the POLOTRON and anode voltage fall-times of less than 10 ns have been measured at voltages up to 16 kV. 本文讨论了ZnO:Zn低能电子发光亮度饱和的物理原因。指出,在Vg=Va(通常数字显示的情况)的条件下,亮度饱和的主要原因是ZnO:Zn次级电子发射和阴极发射疲劳;若取Vg=Va,则饱和亮度成倍提高,这时热猝灭将是亮度饱和的主要因素。同时指出,对于一定的输入功率,存在着一个与最佳效率相对应的最佳阳极电流密度;低阳极电流密度,高阳极电压往往是低效率的。作者根据本文的研究结果,制成了饱和亮度高达37,000cd/m2的发光管和饱和亮度为22,000cd/m2、能在5,000至10,000cd/m2稳定工作的高亮度数字显示管。后者配上适当的滤光片、在阳光直接照射或照度高达100,000lux的条件下仍能清晰地阅读。  相似文献

利用一种结构紧凑的分段表面放电辐射源模块,详细研究了在不同电压、电容、气压实验条件下回路等效电阻、等效电感及放电能量沉积效率的变化规律,利用四分幅相机拍摄获得了不同实验条件下的放电等离子体通道图像,分析讨论了放电等离子体运动对放电能量沉积效率的影响,提出了提高能量放电沉积效率的有效途径。  相似文献

描述了一种将用于兰州放射性束流线较重离子鉴别的多阳极横向场电离室.对其性能进行了初步测试,得到该电离室有较长的坪区和较好的能量分辨.在104Pa的P10工作气体(10%CH4+90%Ar)下,坪区长度为700V.对244Cm α放射源,在第4片阳极对应的灵敏区域能量损失为1.30MeV,能量分辨41.1keV,相对能量分辨约3.16%。  相似文献

Two different regimes of electron beams have been reported in the pulsed hollow cathode discharge-a low-current, high-energy beam, and a relatively high-current beam of low energy. The high-energy beam is related to the hollow cathode geometry and is found to be present even in the absence of subsequent gas breakdown, while the low-energy beam is always associated with voltage breakdown. Detailed measurements of the spatial and temporal distribution of the electron beam transported beyond a semitransparent anode associated with gas breakdown are reported. In particular, a high-energy component is observed after electrical breakdown. Low-energy electron beams are observed to be transported beyond the anode throughout the main discharge period  相似文献

Vacuum discharge burning between a broad cathode and a point anode made of Mo, Cu, and Cd has been studied. This discharge operates in anode vapors and shows major arc characteristics, although no craters were examined on the cathode. The secondary electron emission is involved to explain current transport within the cathode region. This discharge is interpreted as a high density low voltage glow discharge. Having discussed the present and previous findings, the conclusion has been drawn that the secondary electron emission and “hump of potential” are dominant in the vacuum arc cathode spot  相似文献

 为了进行强流多电子束源研究,对现有2MeV LIA 注入器进行了四脉冲改造,二极管脉冲电压约500kV。实验研究了天鹅绒阴极在四脉冲条件下的发射能力、传导电流负载效应以及阴极等离子体运动对阴极电子发射和束能量的影响。利用空间电荷限制流模型推算出阴极等离子体膨胀速率在1 ~4cm/μs之间。  相似文献

An improved planar-gate triode with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) field emitters has been successfully fabricated by conventional photolithography, screen printing and electrophoretic deposition (EPD). In this structure, cathode electrodes and ITO arrays linked with gate electrodes were interdigitated and paralleled on the same plane although the gate electrodes and cathode electrodes were isolated by dielectric layer, a so-called improved planar-gate triode structure. An electrophoretic process was developed to selectively deposit CNTs field emitters onto cathode electrodes in the CNTs suspension by an applied voltage between the gate electrodes and cathode electrodes. The optical microscopy and FESEM image showed that the CNTs emitters with the uniform packing density were selectively defined onto the cathode electrodes. In addition, field emission characteristics of an improved planar-gate triode with CNTs field emitters were investigated. The experiment results indicated that the turn-on voltage of this triode structure at current density of 1 μA/cm2 was approximately 55 V. The anode current and gate current came to 396 μA and 325 μA, at gate voltage and anode voltage of 100 V and 4000 V, respectively and at the anode-cathode spacing of 2000 μm. The emission image became brighter and the luminous image with dot matrix on the anode plate obviously increased with the increase of the gate voltage. Moreover, the emission current fluctuation was smaller than 5% for 11 h, which indicated that the improved planar-gate triode has a good field emission performance and long lifetime.  相似文献

为了研究碳纳米管(CNT)阴极强流脉冲发射特性, 在2MeV直线感应加速器(LIA)注入器平台上开展了阴极放气特性实验. 研究结果表明:碳纳米管阴极强流发射时伴随有严重的阴极放气, 阴极放气参与形成阴极等离子体. 对于特定的几次实验, 通过数值积分估算了阴极材料的放气量为0.8—1.12Pa·L, 释放的气体分子数目与电子数目之比为254—203, 说明阴极等离子体为弱电离等离子体. 分析了二极管电压、发射电流密度、放气量以及放气分子数目/电子数目之间的关系  相似文献

寻找能降低He—Ne激光器点火电压的外加催离剂.实验对He—Ne激光器的点火电压在阴、阳极被可见光照射、低放射源作用于放电管和阴极附近加强电场的条件下进行了测量.对不同外加条件作用下He—Ne激光器点火电压实验数据的误差进行了分析.实验结果指出,用可见光照射阴极或阳极不能降低He—Ne激光器的点火电压;能明显降低点火电压的因素可以是低放射源或外加强电场.  相似文献

The emission properties of a plasma cathode based on a nanosecond pulsed glow discharge with currents of up to 200A at a pressure of 5×10−2 Pa are studied experimentally. Stable ignition and burning of the discharge are ensured if the current in the auxiliary pulsed discharge is 25–30% of that in the main discharge and its pulse duration exceeds that of the main discharge by more than an order of magnitude. Emission current pulses from the cathode with amplitudes of up to 140A fully reproduce the discharge current and are determined by the transparency of the grid anode. Zh. Tekh. The growth time of the spark current at the time of breakdown in vacuum at the constant voltage and pressure existing during this period was investigated with high time resolution. It was shown that, as in the case of a pulsed breakdown: 1) the growth time tc of the current increases in proportion to the length d of the gap and the ratio d/tc is 2.5·106 cm/sec; 2) the transition to a rapid rate of current growth (di/dt > 108 A/sec) takes place in 1–3 nsec; 3) during the period of current growth, x-ray radiation appears and a transfer of anode material to the cathode is observed. These results serve as evidence that the origin of current growth is connected with the appearance of efficient electron sources on the cathode. These, as in the case of pulsed breakdowns, are evidently cathode flares, the formation of which has an explosive character and can be identified with the act of breakdown initiation. In essence this event does not change with the rate at which voltage is supplied across the gap and consists of the explosive disintegration of emitting microspikes on the cathode. The appearance of cathode flares indicates the start of an irreversible breakdown of vacuum insulation. The emergence of a burst of x-rays and the erosion of the anode are explained by the action on the anode of a powerful stream of electrons that are emitted from the cathode flares, providing the spark current.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii Fizika, No. 9, pp. 93–97, September, 1971.The authors thank G. This paper mainly investigates plasma characterization on carbon fiber cathodes with and without cesium iodide (CsI) coating powered by a ~300~ns, ~ 200~kV accelerating pulse. It was found that the CsI layers can not only improve the diode voltage, but also maintain a stable perveance. This indicates a slowly changed diode gap or a low cathode plasma expansion velocity. By spectroscopic diagnostics, in the vicinity of the cathode surface the average plasma density and temperature were found to be ~ 3× 1014~cm-3 and ~ 5~eV, respectively, for an electron current density of ~ 40~A/cm2. Furthermore, there exists a multicomponent plasma expansion toward the anode. The plasma expansion velocity, corresponding to the carbon and hydrogen ions, is estimated to be ~ 1.5~cm/μ s. Most notably, Cs spectroscopic line was obtained only at the distance ≤ 0.5~mm from the cathode surface. Carbon and hydrogen ions are obtained up to the distance of 2.5~mm from the cathode surface. Cs ions almost remain at the vicinity of the cathode surface. These results show that the addition of CsI enables a slow cathode plasma expansion toward the anode, providing a positive prospect for developing long-pulse electron beam sources.  相似文献

为了实现在大气压下低触发电压的多通道放电,以阵列微孔阴极结构作为触发装置设计了一种新型纳秒脉冲开关。以激光打孔的双面环氧板为阵列微孔阴极,研究了开关工作系数、微孔阴极放电电流、微孔阴极孔数及微孔阴极孔径对开关触发电压、延迟和抖动时间的影响。实验结果表明:更多的阵列微孔、100 m的微孔孔径能够降低开关的触发电压,同时高开关工作系数、大触发电流、多阵列微孔能够减少开关的延迟和抖动时间。因此,为了获得更高性能的纳秒脉冲开关,除了对开关结构的进一步改善,这几个影响开关性能的因素是设计开关时应主要考虑的。  相似文献
